  1. I have always been a great fan of Mark Martin and hoping the 'old man' would win the champ before he retires and I have even collected every single diecast vehicle, T-shirts, decals, coffee cups & model kits of Mark Martin since the Folgers Coffee cars. Now, it looks like hopefully he will finally get a chance to grab the big one! I saw the news this afternoon and thought someone was playing a joke! Its for real and I even remember Jr making a comment about how much he admires the old man 2-3 years ago! I see Martin doing more than just winning races. Thats got to hurt DEI a lot if they couldn't win with the smartest driver in Nascar....but I'am happy to Mark Martin back in the car full-time! Hendricks must have some deeepppp pockets! I gots the feeling that a lot of driver changes are about to happen soon! Silly season! ~ Jeff
  2. It really is amazing huh? I got kits from the early '60s to today and theres about more than 70-80 different hemi valve covers...I got a whole large plastic bin full of them valve covers as well as the engines. AMT made the best ones which were more realistic for the late '50s to late '60s. Even got a few dual plug valve covers from the early '70s MPC Pro stock kits Like you, I'am quite fond of the 392 covers! Theres just something about collecting Hemi valve covers. ~ Jeff
  3. Now, thats KOOL! I don't see too many '60s customs these days and you sure did do a great job! Not sure why you think it looks 'crappy' but it looks fantastic to me. ~ Jeff
  4. Wow! Really outstanding job! Love that Butterscotch color yummy! Nice work on the details too. ~ Jeff
  5. I could go for something like that too. I always try to be civil as possible and respect the views of others and I'am pretty much a openmind person. What I have seen in here so far has been civil behavior by everybody and we just have to remember that when people are expressing their views about things, its their opinion and they do have the right to express it even if you don't agree with it, at least give that person some measure of respect. I would be happy to discuss the state of our hobby but it seems that many don't really care for that type of discussion and theres a whole lot to say about it but if folks can get together and do a better job of promoting the hobby and perhaps help keep it alive for a long time, its worth whatever it takes to do that. Education does not stop after you finish high school & we will keep on learning lifes lessons til the last day of our lives and I learn plenty by reading the views of others and looking at things in a different way than before whether I agree with that viewpoint or not. "Enter at your own risk" section is a good idea and I do hope that we can keep that level of discussion civil and respect the rights of that person expressing their views. Name calling and insults at each other gets us nowhere and we are after all, adults and should know better! Put some class into it and be mindful of others ok? It can be fun and you just might be surprised at what others think about some things. Its not my forum but I do respect whatever rules & decisions the Boss makes. ~ Jeff
  6. That does indeed look like fun! I remember seeing so many of those 'chopper' kits reduced to real low prices before Uncle Wally stopped selling model kits and could kick myself for not grabbing a bunch of them! Really outstanding job and nothing beats tons of chrome right? You da Chrometreeman! Great work and keep up the good work Dave! ~ Jeff
  7. Thats funny, I was expected to see one of those old late '70s Dodge Colts and I know they used Mitsubishi engines but I never knew they were still building them! Great job and looks fantastic! ~ Jeff
  8. I have always wanted to meet Bob in person! I have exchanged a few emails with him while we was on the 'other' forum and he sure is a very interesting guy with great knowledge in model cars & ideas! Of all the times that I could of got that chance, gas prices & water pretty much killed this trip..maybe next time! No reason for anybody to yell out you in here for spreading good news tho! I appreciate it Dave! In case your not sure who I'am in here, I go by FreightTrain over 'there'. ~ Jeff
  9. Us Rednecks are a creative bunch are we not? We do our bit to save the environment & waste nothing! I bet we buy more duck tape than any other group does. Shucks, even masking tape has its useful purpose. ~ Jeff
  10. That happen so much to me and doing the 'dance' while it was in the process of rolling off & hoping you made the right moves! Its not a problem anymore since I use those rubber-like slip covers found on pens these days. The part I hated so much was little parts fallin down and me closing my legs trying to catch them before it reaches the floor...dang, my b***s hurt so much! ~ Jeff
  11. I have so far spended about half this year compared to what I spend last year..I spend well over 4,000 on kits & supplies last year and less than 200.00 bucks this year so far..its not just gas prices, its food, insurance, taxes, health problems and so on. I don't see this getting any better either and with gas prices expected to reach 5 bucks by Aug and the price of stupid corn going up faster and hurricane season has not even started yet.... Got to stash money away for emergencys and improve my security. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted huh? ~ Jeff
  12. I love all them comics too! Calvin & Hobbes was so cool and it took some time to get use to Get Fuzzy but now I love it! Dog standing up with his belly dragging on the floor...
  13. Thanks Zeb! I have had my fair share of accidents using super glue but I'll leave that out! I gots plenty of super glue stories! Theres a medical super glue ( more water proof) they use for surgery work but I'am told thats some mean stuff you wouldn't want on your fingers or any 'sensitive" areas! I wish they have not of said that cause now I want to try some.... I have sliced my right thumb so much cause of the way I use a model knife, I always move the blade towards me..not away when scratchbuilding or cutting and use my thumb as a stop bump, I got some weird thumb prints! Super glue closes it up right good. Water actually makes it soft and it will come off if you use plenty of water & soak the glue. Would of thought the older I get and more experience would mean less cuts but its not so I'am afraid to say and they dam sure don't make knife blades like they use to either! 20 years ago one blade would last 2-3 days and now its 2-3 hours. Maybe its the bad plastic... OR the dumb*** builder! I have to say, Super glue rates right there in one of the best 'tools' ever for model kit builders! ~ Jeff
  14. I been trying to get him over here and he is a member but for some reason or the other, he just don't feel too comfortable in here... He is not happy with the new forum either and we do exchange emails all the time...this forum would have a blast with him in here! I would feel really much better if he was here and right now, I'am slowly getting to know everybody in here and not trying to step on any toes yet! Mike would really bring a lot to the table in this forum. The both of us have great senses of humor which is not appreciated by 'you know who' over 'there'. I'll keep trying... ~ Jeff
  15. Good thing you checked out before going to the Doc cause that would of been one expensive Dr bill when they start doing all those tests! In all seriousness, I know the feeling you experienced and with so much of the things we use, eat or whatever being not good for you these days, every single little problem or in this case, a speck tends to cause the alarm bells to go off. I keep a tube of super glue handy just for cuts! Amazing stuff when that knife blade decides to teach you a lesson for using it the wrong way! ~ Jeff
  16. on the loaders.. I seen that ummm Deer? on the telly last night & thought sumthing wrong with the beer...Poor thing looking at us and wondering his? or her? future...that should get plenty of mention in the 'urch this Sunday! I wonder whats next? Robin Hood perhaps? ~ Jeff
  17. I hear ya Zeb! I actually had quite a few choice words to describe it myself but keep forgetting its a family forum but of course, I don't see any 'family' in it! Thanks for the laff! Its like a western ghost town in there now...after 3 & half years & 6,700 posts, I have never not even once seen that forum so quite and I stuck my neck out telling others to be patience while they 'fix' the problems and from the looks of it, that was a wrong move... Besides common sense vanishing, it appears that the word Loyalty is gone too... Oh well, these changing times eh? ~ Jeff
  18. Gawd! You guys don't need to be eating at wifflehouse! That stuff will kill ya with that grease! Its nothing like good ol' southern food! Shoney's and Denny's serves great stuff and if you ever see a all breakfast buffet at Shoney's, do stop and enjoy it! Dang!, thats great stuff! Zeb, Collars, ham and cornbread rules! Blackeyes w/rice, onions, ham and cornbread will make your eyes rollover! I love fryed chicken livers. ~ Jeff
  19. Some of us SA members just founded out that tons of files we put in saved or favorites from the old forum software are now byebye! They told us we could still access it but no luck so far....all that great stuff from 3 years now gone... Not everybody wishes to use Firefox and most can't anyways..they should of mention that before the changeover. "Just deal with it" is the only comment we got so far... ~ Jeff
  20. Oh don't get me started about my moms! Geezz, its any wonder I'am still alive! After 48 years, I still can't do anything right by her and its like pulling teeth out of a sharks mouth talking to her! By the way, she will be 69 this month! Got to spend the next few weeks getting ready for her by getting numb from beer! I envy you guys that still get along, being around your moms or miss them! ~ Jeff

  23. That looks pretty good! Is there any speed secrets stashing bumpers in the interior? You must really love them 'Studes! They are nice kits even for todays standards. Great job! I have seen that trailer somewhere before..I got one just like from the #3 diecast set. Is it metal? ~ Jeff
  24. Dem Biscuits is mention in there & I just plum forgot the dang gravy! I use to overdose on 3-4 biscuits flooded in gravy! I do mean biscuits the size of coffee cup plates too! Too old to eat like that now but I still do it 'once' a year or so...My G'ma cooked the best ###### fry chicken this side of the 'sippi river and it was even better cold! Theres just some memories I will never forget! Now, I'am hungry! ~ Jeff
  25. I reckons someone must of woke up after 8 years or so and thought Bush was still there... ~ Jeff
