  1. Both of my nephews (10 and 1) both have it. My sister is keeping them away from our house, as my mom had an intestinal problem she needs surgery to fix in a couple of weeks, and I just had surgery a week ago to have my battery replaced.
  2. You're correct, Coronet fenders. That's what I meant to say. The Superbirds used the same fenders, though.
  3. You're thinking of the Superbird, which used '69 Charger front fenders. They did that so they could use the same nose cone without having to make it fit the '70 Road Runner fenders.
  4. All of those would have to be completly new tools, as very little, if anything, carryed over on them when they changed the bodies, especially in the case of the Tahoe.
  5. Since I have both versions of the Kurtis, I'll be doing 2 combos. So far, the only one set in stone is the Offy car paired with the Revell '41 Chevy pickup, which will be decromed to make it a base model truck.
  6. I had one of those. As I recall, it wasn't too bad of a kit. Maybe it'll get reissued.
  7. AMT '55-'57 Chevy Pickup with a correct cab, interior, and frame, and a 235 inline 6. And if they made it a 3200/3600, that would be perfect. Also, any variant of the Tri-5 Chevies from Revells new tool kits.
  8. The cantilever roof was actually from Roths original design for the Bandit, before he decided to do the bubble top. inthe book "Hot Rod by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth", there's a picture of the shetch in the chapter about the bandit, whick also explains that the "beatnik" part of the name was actully Revells idea, not Roths.
  9. Thanks, I'll check it out.
  10. Anyone know if there's a match to T3 Light Bronze Poly in a model paint or perhaps a current equivalent in Dupli-Color? I have a Dodge Charger project that I'm needing that color for. TIA.
  11. Looks like another reissue of the '69 Yenko Nova, only this time with the correct hood and grille (the first issue has an incorrect SS hood and grille). Ian is correct, the 427 Novas were not COPO cars, like the Camaro and Chevelle (COPO 9561 and 9566, respectivly), but rather were cars ordered with the 396 equipment and converted at Yenko's dealership. GM refused to build them ,as the 427 had too much power for the relatively lightweight Nova platform. Even Yenko admitted it was a bad idea after they built them. According to most sources, only 27 were built.
  12. I think they're planning to do all of them, just Chevrolet has the highest demand, so it got put on the site first. I do know they offer them for the other brands, but you have to provide a VIN to get them. Now if Ford and Chrysler would do something like this...
  13. GM Resto Packs for Chevrolet This was posted over on Stovebolt.com, and might of interest to those building '00 or older Chevrolets, either 1:1 or scale models. They cover pretty much every model of Chevrolet back to at least 1930, with all variants and options listed, with the exeption of the few specialty cars, like the COPOs and Black Widow. This is all direct from GM.
  14. The '57 Bel Air sedan that's currently out is based on the Black Widow/150 Business Sedan kit that was out last year.
  15. As long as you spray the black last, you'll be fine. Just don't topcoat it with anything other than Alclad or a water based acrylic.
  16. The AMT '51 wouldn't have the correct engine, as it has the 216 low pressure engine. A '54 would use the high pump/ high pressure 235, which has a completley different engine block. The AMT '53 Corvette would be closer, or the Monogram "53 Bel Air, though it is 1/24 scale. You would need the 4 bolt rocker cover from the AMT '60 Chevy pickup to be 100% accurate.
  17. Brendan is right, don't overcoat Alclad Base with anything other than the Alclad topcoats or water based acrylics, anything else will lift it, even enamels. It does work fine over Duplicolr primer, though, and is also works fine over laquer and enamel bases.
  18. Art, thanks for the clarification. I tried doing some research before I posted, couldn't come up with anything concrete, even the site that used to sell parts for V8 60 (Speedway) didn't show anything. I never noticed the pump with the magneto before, looks like I learned something today.
  19. How about this for paint scheme ideas? BTW, I always thought MOPAR stood for Mostly Old Parts And Rust!
  20. Nothing, there are no water pumps on the Midget setup. cooling is done by thermosiphon, similar to how the Model T worked.
  21. Yes, 2 sets. The stock ones are smaller, so that they fit inside the bezel, and as Ed pointes out, really should have been 2 peice like the 1:1. The bottom part on the 1:1 is clear, and housed the backup lamps if the car was optioned with them. The other set are smooth, with no diffusir patters on them, and fill the entire taillamp opening in the fender, with no bezel used. Some issues have problems with sink marks in the smooth lenses. Both sets of lamps are also in the AMT '55 Nomad, which the sedan kit was based from.
  22. Well, if that were the case, that only owner built show cars, rods, and customs were recognized at shows with awards, trophies, and magazine coverage, we would never have heard of many of the custom cars and the builders we all know and love. Guys like Barris, Winfeild, Cushenberry, Bailon, Hines, and probsbly many others I don't recall off the top of my head didn't build for themselves only, they built cars for others, and got paid very well for doing it. This is something that's gone on since the beginning of the car customization. I don't see a problem with someone showing a car they didn't build, and even acceptimg awards for it, so long as they give proper credit to those that did the work.
  23. Yup, that's how they're supposed to be. Not really unusual, especially on engines with tight port spacing.
  24. I stand corrected. Couldn't tell what he had setup in it in the first pic.
