RodBurNeR replied to Len Woodruff's topic in Contests and Shows
Len, thank you for sharing your photos! I appreciate the photos of my models you took and you got some good angles on other's that i missed. My batteries both died lol -
i might be there.....seems like i was talking to Steve Kohler about going to Fargo, but not sure if he was going or not? (he would be my ride cuz he is a vendor and i would ride with)

Heartland Nat's in Kansas June 21-22nd CYA THERE!
RodBurNeR replied to RodBurNeR's topic in Contests and Shows
My first time at this show and i will be coming back! I can't think of a single thing i didn't like about this. The vendor area was great including Star Models, Johan, Modelhaus and several others that honestly i don't remember. Lots of kits for sale too. Michael Garrett made it down from Michigan by himself and it was nice to see him again and his great models! Got to see my buddy Bud Ellis aka Kustoms on TRaK and kustomsbyellis on yahoo. Met Bob Paeth and let me tell you....what a pleasure! Bob is a super nice guy! If you don't know who he is, take a look on google. I thanked him for all he has done for this hobby and even go to get down to the bench and chat a little about his old school techniques! Hosted on Fotki Seriously , i ran into many people i know from other shows and from the internet that i got to meet for first time in person. David Irwin aka Minidreams is a funny SOB and it was nice to finally put a "voice" with a name lol Evan, i saw your models but could not find you since i didn't know what you looked like? Bummer! maybe next time? I don't know who built this, but i loved it! Hosted on Fotki many really cool builds to check out! here is the link http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...arna/page3.html -
"Holy Grail" Models?
RodBurNeR replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Steve Milberry.... I never got into mopars much, but those are cool kits! Cinder Bug is such a cool box art. I had the Petty car unbuilt, but ended up selling to buy something else (story of my life) Andy Martin..... Yep you are right, i guess i took it wrong too when i saw multiple kits etc.... so my holy grail would have to be..... SMP 1958 Pontiac , i guess that is one of my favorite cars, especially in kit form. -

"Holy Grail" Models?
RodBurNeR replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
TXRAT......cool kits! i love that' 53 delivery, but man it's a pain to build lol. i ended up breaking it before it would go together nicely. i had all those at one time, traded off for other things i wanted. i still have photos of them i think. the one i still have is the touch tone terror..that is a really cool kit! here is mine started...well about half done now Hosted on Fotki -
"Holy Grail" Models?
RodBurNeR replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's confirmed.....i am a FORD guy! I have another '68 Galaxie and probably some others that i forgot about, but here is my Galaxie stash. I DO plan to build every one of them. I have to re-build some and other's are not built yet. I mentioned before, i am NOT collector and i don't care how much any of these sell for on eBay.....they will be cut, painted, shaved and glued together just like they were meant to be. *these are my "Grails"....just cars i like, not any one specific kit* I don't fondle any of them What i did was grouped them all together, even the ones i have started and finished. Hosted on Fotki Here are almost all my Fairlanes.... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I think this is all my Mercury's Hosted on Fotki probably all my Victoria's Hosted on Fotki i am going to continue grouping my kits like this for the heck of it, so i might update again if anyone cares to see. -
thanks guys! the paints i used were Dupli Color gray hot rod primer Testors ONE SHOT 1831M Fiery Orange lacquer Tamiya Pearl White for all the white areas

nice Kenny! don't see these often and yours looks great!

"Holy Grail" Models?
RodBurNeR replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
this is a neat topic! if i was to make a list or take photos, it would take more time than i want to do it lol i have some favorite cars that just aren't made anymore, so they are vintage kits and vintage built ups that need restored. i don't collect anything, value is not important...in fact i build collector kits! the reason i bought them is because i liked them so much and want to build them and put in my case. when i die, none of this will matter so i am not hoarding a 'retirement stash". some of my favorite cars i have are 67 galaxie, 62 galaxie, 61 starliner etc...hmm, maybe it would be kinda fun to take photos of this stuff and group it together..... -
thank you! rims are modelhaus and so are the front tires. the rear tires are hendrix resin. thank you also! next to finish is a '64 impala kustom. i will be posting that by the 20th.
-
'32 5window pretty fun quick build! problem i have though is the wheels. i need to get some new wheel backs for the rear wheels and the fronts seem to be a little crooked, but i think it's the resin talking..anyways, here it is! Help I'm beating a dead horse
RodBurNeR replied to Dave Wood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You are welcome Dave! You must be speaking of SA.....i have not stepped foot in there since my posts got deleted for the millionth time. (about a year ago) I didn't do anything wrong, just talking about things "he" didn't want to read about i guess.....and yes it was all model related. Yes, this forum is always better and the magazine too! -
thank you and the same to you and everyone!

Help I'm beating a dead horse
RodBurNeR replied to Dave Wood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is a how to i wrote for my forum. It is very similar to this forum. here is the new way that seems to work best on fotki sites. the previous way only hosts your photos for a few hours and then all you see is the red x. WITH THIS OPTION, YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSERT [img TAGS. FIRST Hosted on Fotki SECOND Hosted on Fotki THIRD Hosted on Fotki LAST Hosted on Fotki THIS IS REALLY MUCH EASIER THAN IT SEEMS. one thing you can do is edit the code to your own wording. for example , instead of this [url=http://www.fotki.com]Hosted on Fotki[/ur you can make it say [url=http://www.fotki.com]Zed's '40 Ford[/ur (hope this is more of an answer to expect from the other board) -

I am lucky to have a mother that has dedicated her life to her two sons. She never buys expensive clothing or makeup , nor spends time at the mall. She saves money back in case something happens to one of her kids and we are both over 30 years old. My mom was there in the hospital with me 16 times when i was a kid. She was there at my feet when i was sick many times. She let me talk to her as friends and so i was NEVER afraid to tell her my secrets or to admit i was doing something that she would not approve of. My mom comes to some of the model shows here in Omaha to see what makes me so happy! My mom is the best! I know what some of you may feel about horrible mother's.....i can compare on that level with dad's. My dad was great, i love him and he is dead now. I however saw things i should have not seen as a child by my dad and we had a very rocky relationship through the years. Once i turned 25 and my wife was pregnant, my dad changed his whole attitude and started treating me like an adult and respected me! I am not saying it's all about the pregnancy, but at the point only did he and i get a long like we should. We got along for 6 years very well before he died of cancer. This goes to show it's never too late for a parent to be their child's friend.

Here is the link to the site telling all about the show. Bob Paeth will be there, one of the oldest modelers! http://www.kcslammers.com/index_files/Page648.htm
