  1. They have a web site. http://www.sefinecast.co.uk/ Just wonder did you order from them direct? I am planning to order the Rover V8, not sure if I will go direct or from other model shops.
  2. In 1979 Ford would have probably wanted to push the 5.0 and turbo as the way forward, so how about a turbocharged 5.0 Clevor? The Cleveland heads seemed to be a popular upgrade for Windsors until aftermarket aluminium heads became readily available, and it would make for a contemporary (for 1979, anyway) Boss Mustang. The engine with turbo on carb and big valve heads is going to be temperamental, but I bet it would make a ton of power.
  3. From Zoom Zoom's review and article of the GT500KR in the magazine whose name must not be mentioned (06/2009 and 08/2009 issues), what you get in the KR kit are: - New wheels, albeit in 20" vs the real car's 18" - New hood - Larger front brakes with ventilation holes and Brembo decals What you don't get: - The cold air intake (you get the same air box as in the regular Shelby) - Proper low profile tires I bought two RoG GT500 back when Revell kits were really cheap in here. I originally planned to use the engine for the Jada Ford GT but that is put on the backburner now, maybe we can work out something if you are interested in it.
  4. I've just received the kit yesterday, the first thing I noticed when I pulled out the body is that the front windshield seems very low, as though it has a chopped top. I'm also not sure if the shape of the rocker panel is correct, the bulge is quite pronounced on the kit body.
  5. American kits: Model Empire USA Japanese kits: Hobby Search Aftermarket parts: Hobby Easy Last resort: HLJ Now that HLJ list anything they can't get as "discontinued" I don't even use them to order out of stock items.
  6. Alex Kung has a Hobby Shop directory for the Toronto area. He updates it frequently. http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/shoppin/shoppin.htm Sad to say the list has drastically reduced compared to when I was still living in Toronto in 2000.
  7. It could very well be some deadbeat bidders who bidded an insane amount and not intended to pay anyway. We saw quite a lot of that back when my friends were selling sports cards on eBay. Bids are not rigged that way. No one would rig it by $660, or 26 times over the leading bid.
  8. Ah... you have to click "on to the comparison", the link near the bottom of the page, right above the back button.
  9. http://modelcarshirobom.syanari.com/029-250gto/250gto.html The order for the pictures is Gunze, Italeri, Revell and Fujimi.
  10. Aoshima's McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail. http://photozou.jp/photo/show/337861/177598899
  11. Might as well wait for Aoshima's mysterious kit that starts with an "M" announcement. It's just a few hours away.
  12. Without new customer to support the companies, the hobby might die before you and I do.
  13. As much as I don't really care for the fights (which to me totally disrupt the flow of the game), they are part of hockey for as long as I can remember. Go Leafs. Maybe they will do better in a shortened season, which ends before they tail off and tank as usual.
  14. Aoshima has repeatedly said on their Facebook page that they have always wanted to do the MM1, have contacted the license owner (apparently the owner of the 1:1 car), but are unable to secure a license.
  15. For Chinese/Taiwanese-based aftermarket parts like Hobby Design, Tuner Model Manufactory, A+ Club or Top Studio I'd recommend ordering them from Hobby Easy (www.hobbyeasy.com). Their prices are better than Japanese online shops and shipping from Hong Kong is much cheaper, too. These are some of the stuff I found on their web site: Hobby Design California photo etch kit http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/47121.html Tuner Model Manufactory 458 exhaust tips (I think these look better than Hobby Design's) http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/ah1fygtleuiz3ydrp73o.html Hobby Design 458 metal logo http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/a5kx4gxj9tu7ytawx941.html Hobby Design 458 photo etch kit http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/ab84yya9uas26vrmt5qh.html Tuner Model Manufactory 458 wheel valve stems http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/lwdbzcjnqtpfrbnc0qht.html
  16. Shunko makes the Super GT number plate decals. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10189121 They are sold out now but you might want to put yourself on Hobby Search's waiting list e-mail. Shunko re-release their decals from time to time, but if you don't pre-order them by the time they are available they would be all sold out.
  17. Hobby Design makes some pretty nice Sparco seats. http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/mdwmqxudhijoshcl3tuf.html http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/41ucz3a5u8lh3o7tstw8.html
  18. Appears to be this car. In black: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=461840 Repainted in gold: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=585810
  19. Our post office cannot do remittance to the US any more. In any case, their lines are even longer and their fees are higher than the bank.
  20. It would be great if you can take online orders by Pay Pal or credit card, so I can order direct from you. The reason I can't buy from you direct before is the money order issue, the fee almost always costs more than the order itself and I'd need to get it during lunch hour, when everyone is going to the bank at the same time. I bought them from Model Express before, but it appears I'll need to find a new outlet soon and I hope I can finally get them directly from the source. With credit card the setup will be more complicated with the online shop and such, but with Pay Pal you would not need to change much from your existing setup. Just send a Pay Pal request to your customers when they placed their order.
  21. Tamiya made a very nice 1/24 kit of it. It is out of production for many years but it crops up on eBay from time to time.
  22. That's the exact reason why GMC wasn't killed off, the Buick dealerships argued for a truck lineup to sell. As for GM killing off brands: it really didn't make sense to have several brands competing with each other with the exact same cars in the exact same market segment, all under the same parent company. The cars may be built on the same assembly line, but marketing different brands takes a lot of money. It might have worked when GM had 50% of the US market but with their market share dwindling they are better off concentrating their resources on a few brands that are competitive. Oldsmobile should have been long gone. It had lost its direction since the 70's, and the constant reinvention of the company blurred their image even more. While Pontiac had a sporty image and Saturn was more poised to be the import fighter brand, years of neglect had run down both brands. The G8 was the only bright spot in Pontiac's final lineup, and while the Opel-sourced Astra and Aura were nice cars, they were too little too late for Saturn. That leaves us with Buick. Frankly I think this reinvention into an import fighter will bring it down the same path as Oldsmobile, and the new Opel-sourced lineup fits more with Pontiac or Saturn. However, with Buick still strong in China for now, GM probably wouldn't want to bring any bad news to the brand, and it gets to stay while Pontiac and Saturn got the axe.
  23. Fujimi is better. I find some of the details on Revell's molding quite soft. The dashboard, the head lights and the tail lights in particular don't look quite right.
  24. They are not the audience of that magazine quoted in the article.
  25. Mistakes can void a contract. Since the buyer had already acknowledged the higher price before he signed the actual contract, the contract might be voidable.
