Richard, thanks for the reply, But I was more getting at what THIS truck was based on, which has been answered, as an Australian truck, which has been modified for USA mOparman, HE, that would be me, who else do you think I was talking to?, I will make my questions clearer next time so you can understand them better, There where 3 Mack super liners here in Australia that I know of that where fitted with a aerodyne sleeper, one was pretty famous for a mack, but I don't think this is the one you are building, didn't have alcoa's fitted, but did have spoked rims, the name was quite fitting though, Aggravator silver blue and red stripes, was very flash for it's day

I like it, and the front tyres and rims help make it fat, He is a tip with Coloured plastic, this will help you cover it better, if you use Matt brown like Tamiya desert yellow (XF-59), and it will stop any bleed through and help stop it thinning on the edges Brown being a neutral colour and being Matt will help it stick better, you can use it as a primer, no need to sand it back,

Dave Nothing better than a tri drive,and this is really coming along, I like what you have done so far, Yes the cabs are a small problem, I am replacing all the rivets on mine, with scale hardware rivets, there is about 400, and a real pain to do but they do look better Now, are you going to be building a trailer for it?

Hey Comp What type of decals do you call top end? to me top end is screen printed or are you looking for someone with an alps? that actually prints decals Alps printers are still available brand new, as is all the ribbons etc if you wanted to set your own up

The stories that go with your models is always a great history lesson, and the detail you add, like the oil stains etc, really give it some history Nice job William, good to see Bill helping his Dad out

The colour really suits this truck, would have to be the first long hauler to be modified with different bonnet the plano grills really do make a difference to the whole appearance of the truck from the front, nice touch What do you use to wax your future? come up really nice

My 6yr old daughter is building this kit, she has done 5 models so far, so I wanted her to do something a little more challenging, and what a small mistake that was, she built the 1/32 t600 with no problems, and was great for her, but this kit is a hand full, especially with the wheels and some of the fitment, she has struggled, which I have done for her The only thing good about this kit is the CAT motor, ( there is that C word again) which I stole, chopped up and fitted to a KFS excavator, I have something else she can fit in there which will more than likely be painted orange or purple anyway........ ahhhh kids

Oh Dear, you guys may need to review what you are saying here before you make a comment, CAT is not the only company that protects there copyright, but what right do you have to use there name without paying for that privilage? and we are talking about making something like a engine, casting it and yourself making money here, NOT a one off for your use, this is not an issue with CAT, but making money with there name is And a good example of this was Howard at KFS, when he produced a scale 1/24th excavator with out consultation with CAT, just made it, and sold it with there logo on it as a CAT product, he was fined $20K GBP for this, and I think it is justified as well, if you had a product, or logo, and someone else made money off it, would you persue them, or would you just say, that's ok????? Now with the States as the leader in the world of Sueing people, now everyone wants to complain about it, The thing that I can't agree with is the cheap Chineese toys that CAT put there name on, but would you buy a grader, dozer, truck, without the CAT logo or an unbranded construction diecast model? nah I didn't think so and just think, someone had to pay to put that logo on for you, CAT is a over rated product, and with thier parts also being made in china,with chineese steel is it really that American now like it was 40 years ago? A Komatsu will out dig a Cat in solid rock, all day long, and has more features for final trim than a CAT, maybe the world has woken up to CAT, and the way they do business, CAT, not the product it use to be

Wow, look at that, the Nightstalker 2 is a quite famous truck here, why?? could tell you, but what Justin and Turk done to it before Cornfoot's brought it really made it stand out, I am actually building the exact same truck, but in 1/16th from a Metal Glow kit,and have lots of pics of the real truck, scratchbuilt parts well there are many,spent nearly 14 months on mine so admire what you have done to this, and how you have done the paint which is not an easy task, There is something about the SAR that just make them so appealing, Great work

One of the best ways to stop any coloured plastic bleed through, and this works on any coloured plastic be it red or blue etc, is to prime it with matt brown, I use Tamiya Desert yellow (XF-59), and being matt gives the top coat something to bite to, and brown being a neutral colour covers the coloured plastic and doesn't allow the plastic colour to bleed through, also, it allows you to keep the detail if it is air brushed on, therefore you just don't need the primer sealers, of coats of future to seal it, if you are having doubts, try it on a bit of sprue you will be surprised at the results it will give you

Sergey Dropping a truck like this 4-5 inches is ok, and really doesn't seem that much, the truck that I am building in 1/16th has been dropped 16 inches efectively it is 16 inches when parked, but raises 5 inches when driving, so therefore it has a dropped height of 11 inches from standard The set up is much the same as yours, just a little lower, my theory was to use the peterbilt rear on the KW, but turn the bags and shocks to the outside to give the illusion of a neway rear end, in theory this should work, it is yet to be proven if it will, I will be starting the suspension next week, it still may turn out that new arms may still have to be made and the various other parts to go with it I like your idea of trimming away, the underside of the arms, and it appears that you have trimmed a little off the axles, Really it doesn't matter how much you have dropped this truck, it will still look great with the paint that you have chosen, so keep up the good work, I am looking forward to your next update

I like the green also on the 386, and the Hybrid is an interesting build, looks like you are charging it up with it on the back of the 386 Sales much be good, with all the pre delivery trucks in the shop, you may have to employe a few more guys to help out at the skittle factory it is interesting how the colours of trucks have changed over the years, with more and more vibrant colours being available, I like the new colours, they add a lot more interest like they have with cars

Hi Sergey With trimming the control arms on this your gain for dropping the suspension was 4.5mm? are the airbags that you have cast, are the the same size height wise as the orginal bags? How many scale inches where you looking at dropping the whole truck? I also think the new chrome bolts look more in scale the the injected ones Look forward to more updates

Sergey Your Can do is a truck that is well remembered, as one of the best display's of this kit,I remember this being a TMW back in late 2007, and even then it was a beautiful truck, and very well detailed with lots of extra's that where added, and as well as replacing all that chrome with Alclad, It was also a great idea, on how you had done the lift axle, using syringe tubes, but then, so was how you hide the batteries, The areomax, is another fine build, with lots of detail, this truck really suits red, and with the extra detail is a nice ride Some really well thought out builds, look forward to seeing alot more of your work

Jim and Dave are quite correct, so I will add a bit more Yes the Blue circle kit is a good kit but far from acurate for an Aussie truck, but hey, they had a go and it has a few parts for the spares box,but mind you what truck has really been a kit that is 100%, apart from maybe Pocher's Volvo here are a couple of pics for you, First you can't get more Aussie that this, Kenworth SAR, (Short Aust Right hand drive)comes in a few configurations, but none more famous of sort after than the Gold Nugget version Short hood W900, which 36inch sleeper, this has had a bit of custom work by Klos Bros http://www.kloscustomtrucks.com/home.html and then you could have this, with 30 inch sleeper ( and change the rims to spoke) Then you could do a W900B with the same kit, (square headlights)This is a NZ truck, which is a rebuilt W900A Reality is if you are going to build a Aussie version, changes will have to be made to make it anywhere acurate, or build it out of the box, still give you a almost Aussie feel, and does build to a nice truck, but if you are building a day cab, then you need to shorten the frame a bit

I don't know about that Dave, I will be casting these in 1/16th within the month, based on the henrickson HT300 suspension, and will have real rubber airbags, and can be built to work, also if you really wanted too, you could fit S cams and brake shoes and get them to work as well Also have spyder rims and a few other goodies all in 1/16th if you are interested send me a pm, with your email details as for your detroit, absolutely amazing skill, and the detailing, love it, right down to the starter motor terminals, can't wait till you start the truck and give it the Dave treatment
