  1. Cranky, you always make things look so easy, but I am going to try this on a little side project, Thanks for the "how to"
  2. Jarda Nice work, starting to take shape now, AC is a nice addition, How did you do your radiator hose's, they look great
  3. I have been working on these for awhile, making the tooling to produce the nice rolled edge was .......interesting, but I think I have solved it, these suit the KW 1/16th monogram kit, and I made them for a custom build that I have spent a few years on now, so many parts to make for it for it, oh well on with the show, I am now ready to make all the brackets for them, these will be brass then chromed to suit Ready to get the polish out and polish the life out of them The light bar is ready to cast, I have made all the light bezels in Aluminium for this one, lot of work, but effective, also made a master for the lights as well, if I do decide to cast these, the light and the bezel will be cast as one part Comments welcome, good or bad, can they be made better?
  4. Really Nice Build on a classic I use to drive one of these also, not a nice truck in winter, had no heater brrrr
  5. Top job Bob, truck and trailer look great
  6. OK, Jarda, I am not a pete expect by any measure, but I think I know where the problem is, and that is you have extended the hood to much, when I compare your hood to the Klaus Lassen photo, you can see the difference, and that seems to be the the second stripe you added, therefore you have then added to much to the frame the second problem you will have it fitting the exhaust, so the engine will have to be moved back also, which you could move the radiator and the engine back slightly to help, What I would more than likely do is remove some of the hood extension, and from the frame to suit, then move the engine back in the frame to suit also, I doubt you would notice it to much with the hood up, or with it down, With the engine back, it may suit the gear box better Lots to think about, but the re engineering to still quite possible, and you will more than happy when you finish this build, and as well as the experience for the next one DON'T give up, just learn from it Have a happy New Year
  7. Now you got to be happy with that, it is amazing, and the detail.... keep going stumps, keep goin
  8. Yep, that is a good find,I brought a blue 1/16th KW Areodyne for $126 and was sealed, mint condition I must admit Matt, I loved cutting the blue areodyne kits up, slicing that fresh plastic to make a aussie short hood was fun, and they do cut up better than the metallic kits, they are very brittle to work with and crack when you are chopping them if you are not carefull I used a metal glow kit for the SAR and it was a nightmare, I am going to redo it with a Blue kit hood, they are as good as the red ones to chop
  9. excellent detail, the inside of the pan looks spot on, nice, real nice
  10. Jarda Now that you have a base coat on it, and see the small problems, then they can be fixed, and with the next coat of paint, would could make it a little darker, but learn from it and move forward, it is a very nicely detailed build already, so learn learn learn 10.4
  11. Come on guys, I need to know too, I love 1/16th, and and and and... please let us in on the secret That is a cool paint job, look forward to seeing more
  12. Sergey I don't think that it would be mechanical, and would more likely be air over hydraulic, I will do a bit of researching for you, I do have some old FR700 photo's to have a look through
  13. Porky does do real nice castings, and idea of colour yet? and where did you get the big engine from?
  14. Nice work Dave, are you going to be weathering this up at all?
  15. Nice, this is really going to pop with that old school paint job
  16. I have tooooo many other projects to finish before I even think about this, but was thinking of chopping it up though
  17. Sergey Those parts are getting smaller and smaller, nice work on the detail, Are you using vanish coated wire ?
  18. You could try just straight caustic soda, mix it with water to a strong brew, and let it cool before you put your parts in, caustic is the key in the oven cleaner, and is cheaper to buy than oven cleaner Caustic strips chrome real good, as well as paint etc, Make sure you don't put your hands in it or breath the fumes, I have a old 1/16th areodyne kit to strip before I cut it up, so will post you some before and after shots
  19. This is KFS's loader, this was a really nice kit, I do hope he decides to do another machine
  20. The RMR excavator is a re cast of a kids toy that you buy from a toy shop, if you look very close you can see the injector pin marks from the plastic toy, as well as the decal marks yes they do build to a nice machine, and in fact Anthony Oteri's machine is a great example Here is what you can make (I believe he lives in Italy) http://www.rctruckan...hread.php?t=310
  21. Nice paint work on the cab, any plans for stripes?? Black and red always look good..... and a bit of chrome
  22. Now I look forward to seeing this come together, should be a beauty
  23. WOW, nice work, look forward to an up date
  24. If you draw one up first then you can use the Cat PDF files, yes they give you basic dimensions, but they are useable if you use something like inventor by auto desk, (my Favourite) you can force the program to do most of the scaling for you, , alternatively, find a machine and take as many measurements and photo's as possible, but the key to it all is doing drawings first, in scale, and go from there The KFS loader and excavator had there final run early this year, so they will be no more, I really wish he done a scraper now that would have been a model to build
  25. Oh Mark, you are living in the past.....Diesel is so yesterday,..... it was retro fitted with a Flux Capacitor
