aftashox, thanks for the compliments. have you seen my AA/FA build? or how 'bout the AA/GS willys? or the 'vette? here's my photo bucket. http://s243.photobucket.com/home/comp1839/index. you'll all see my stuff, includng the 1:1 cars i've owned over the years. hope you enjoy! your chevelle is looking great. keep up the fantastic work! p.s. sorry about the shirts. occupational hazard! LOL.

don, thanks! i'm not sure how many people would notice those details. i try to build these cars to be critiqued by hard core, died in the wool racers. and while there are some inconsistencies, my goal is to build more and more accuracy into my models. the pro mod 'cuda and the top alcohol dragster i hope to exceed my previous builds as far as "detail" and "accuracy" go. i'm hoping the 'cuda will take the "cool" factor to a new personal high. we'll see. as far as 1:1 race cars,.....i've spent an hour or two underneath of a few. LOL.

thanks guys! i appreciate the kind words. to add to the question LDO asked about a chassis jig. i use a chassis jig AND the chassis is built as "correct" dimensionally as is possible. the tubing diameters are as close to "correct" as commercially available tubing will allow me to get. the chassis is 225" wheel base with the maximum allowable 2" stagger in the front wheels. i've even added cables. which alot of the newer cars use(i am not sure if the older cars did this or not)to stop the cars chassis from going negative when deccelerating or coming out of a wheel stand. hope you enjoy!

yes, i use a chassis jig. if you watch the top alcohol car build up i'm sure you will see it there.
-
ddms / tom i hope this works for you. here's my photobucket if you' like to see more. http://s243.photobucket.com/home/comp1839/index

the chassis looks really nice. seems like the wheelbase is on the money! doing great work there rick.

looks like a great start rick. blown hemi and a willys. that's like ice cream on a stick. the two go great together. can't wait to see all those shift levers throught the floor pan. i'm getting tingly all over just thinking about it. any idea whether it will be blown and injected or blown and carbureted?

this is my first 1/8 scale model. -
LOOKIN' PRETTY SWEET THERE RICK! LOVE THE WHEELS.

keith, don't know how you do it. that's just to cool for words! i can't believe the exhaust manifolds fit! unreal!!!!
-
bill, if i said "wow" or "amazing" or "extraordinary" it would not describe this build. the level of detail is just "out of control". i don't know what to say except, i can't wait to see more.

looking for top shelf decal person(s)

tony, very good question. i am looking for a top shelf decal person not necessarily top end decals. since i have no working knowledge of decals per say, the person i am looking for would need to have the experience to tell me what type of process would best suit my needs i.e. screen printed or alps or whatever. as i said earlier, i am not totally familiar with the processes at hand but, a specific need of mine does include some kind of decal that is either foil backed or simulates foil backed as i wish to have wheel manufacturer and certain certifaction decals reproduced. at this time i don't believe i'm interested in purchasing my own printer. i've been told they are quite costly and since i only do 1 or 2 models a year. i'd find it hard to believe i could justify the cost and the time it takes to learn the operation. hence, i am looking for a top shelf decal person. are you a decal person? also i became aware recently that there are companies that make ready made decals that simulate carbon fiber. i was wondering if anyone knew whether they did 1/8 carbon fiber decals and what those companies names are? thank you for inquiring. -
here are some pics

the 1/8 pro mod cuda that i'm also starting will be highlighted here. the twin turbo TDR hemi is already started. i've already made the rear tires (34.5x17x16) rear wheels (16x16 w/ 4.5 b.s. and 5on5 b.c.). also made the rear. i started w/ a TDR 11" modular unit and added my own 4 link brackets, end bells, floater ends and rotors. i am using the TDR brake calipers.

going to make 2 seperate posts for these cars . one for the dragster , one for the pro mod cuda.
