Don't get me wrong I will probably buy the 1/12 GT500, but would be pleased as punch to have it in 1/25. and I think you are right that the resin body being available for the gremlin helped cinch the deal. I think that the model companies are starting to realise the advantage that the aftermarket has for their sales. before they might have looked at reissuing the gremlin, and said "It's appeal is limited" but now that there are different resin bodies out there the can say "look at all that can be done with that kit."

When is a Chrysler; not?

What's wrong with the Patriot? I look one every day in my driveway. It has a 175 hp variable valve 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, all wheel drive, traction control, CVT, Stability control, ABS, and gets 35mpg on the highway at an average speed of 75mph. All this for $17,500. since march of 2008 I've put 65,000 miles on it, in all types of wether on paved roads and not, and it has been trouble free. -
After christmas when I was a kid, my parents would ask what our favorate gifts were, and if there was anything we really wanted that we didn't get. For the most part my parents were right on the money, and we usually got all we wanted and more. (for this I always felt quite fortunate, because there were kids I knew who often got little to no gifts at christmas) As an adult the new kit annoucements each year are like waiting for christmas. There are things I hope for and things that I get that until they were annouced I didn't even know I wanted, but there are also things I'd hoped for but never materialised. Here are the new kits annoced last week that really have me interested... Revell. snap 2010 Mustang Convertible not only does this have some good kitbashing possibities, but I also like the new convertible mustangs. I see me buying several of these. 1969 COPO Nova I like this body style nova, and the more variants the better. plus the steelies and poverty caps will help do COPO 1969 Camaros, and other mainstreamer chevies. AMT Custom Gremlin I've been wanting to buy bandit resin's Gremlin kit, but the donor kit wasn't exactly cheap. this solves that dilemma Opel GT Love this little mini-'vette. it's a fun one to build. Here is a list of kits I reasonably expected to see annouced but didn't. at least they are the ones I really wanted to see released. Revell 1957 Chevy Nomad I know I'm currently converting one, but it would be nice to have the kit available. 1/25 2011 Shelby GT500 The 1/12 one is cool but for it's probable cost I could buy 2 1/25 scale GT500s, and a2010 mustang ragtop, and have a coupe and a convertible, that will fit in my display case. 2009 Covette Stingray Concept car. I just think it looks really sharp, and would go well with my Mako Shark, Corvette indy, Aero-vette, and astro vette. 1962 Corvette Based off their excellent 1958-59 kit. why wouldn't this sell like eggs? (BTW eggs out sell hotcakes 100-1 at most breackfast places) 1966 GTO ragtop would breath some life into this excellent mold. **Super longshot here, but could happen*** 1968 Bullit Mustang, 1968 Dodge Charger twin pack with Frank Bullit, and bad guys figures. wouldn't this be cool, and could even be packaged with a dvd copy of the movie. Round 2 Any new tooling would have been nice. But perhaps picking up where RC2 left off with doing some Foose kits would have been nice.

That's sweet one of my favorite kits.

It was easy at that job. it was a lousy job and was getting worse, so the fear of termination was almost non-existant

I could only wish that were a typo, but the spelling was intentional. it's DNRC reference.

At a past job of mine a cow-worker of mine and I were discussing the new corporate stratagy, that I said was "the hieght of stupidity" at which point my manager appeared and asked "What is the hieght of stupidity?" I looked at him towering over me and answered, "I'd say approximately 6'1". i didn't work there much longer.

I'm in a 12 step program for hypochondria. The first step is admitting you don't have a problem. I'm also in a support group for people who talk too much. it's called on & on anon.

I saw a kid looking very carefully at the contents of his animal crackers. when I asked why, he said, "The box says 'don't eat if the seal is broken', so I'm checking." If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?

I'm ignoring your ignorance, trying a different indifference, while showing no deferance to your indifference, unless you reference my indifference, defering to what i'm refering to. if that doesn't work the i may try obfuscation, or even antidisestablishmentarianism!

And your red swingline stapler.

That could be also, but it should be at least as accuarate as the Revell 56 Nomad it's based on. the dimesions are the same.

Major model car manufactures
Darin Bastedo replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The names are very similar. Perhaps Round 2 should have named them selves "under new management" or "Not RC2" -
I just completed what I thought was going to be the toughest part of the conversion, the modifications to the rear bumper. the buper I had to replicate is shown below.... I thought I would have to scratch build the bumper guards on either side of the licence plate, but lo and behold the 56 Chevy Nomad Bumper had ones that if not exacts were so close as to seem identicle, so I cut the 57 Chevy Bumper into three sections, removing enough material to make up for the addition of the Bumper guards, and glued it all together. Thankfully the bumper came out symetrical, and the mounting posts still lined up pefectly with the holes in the body. Now all that is left is to strip it and send it along with a few other parts off to be plated.

Thank you Mark. A miracle is what we're hoping for.

We're currently seeking clinical trials at Johns Hopkins in maryland. the last three attemts at Chemo and radiation appears not to have worked, as the cancer continues to spread. At this point the best we can hope for is a temporary remission, or at least slowing the growth or spread of the cancer to buy her more time. She's staying up there with a doctor friend of hers, while I comute back and forth from TN to MD so that I can work, take care of her there, and take care of our 15 year old daughter here. Of course any prayers from the members here would be of great help.

While I see what you are getting at, the Models you mention are some of the best selling model kits ever, so you can't fault them for reissuing, and updating those kits. I would like to see the amreican model companies take a more world view in their subject matter, but at the same time I believe that there are still a lot of subject that are in thier comfort zone that would sell well too.
