  1. Wow! Great minds think alike! You do really nice work, I especially Like the opening panels. Mine won't be as detailed but I like how it looks so far. I would love to do a Mustang Cobra GT500 too. I've taken a bunch of reference shots, but so far that's as far as I've gotten. I'm definately going to follow your lead on using the Super Stallion engine.
  2. Ya know, I just thought of something. My good fellas quote just worked the same in real life, like it did in the movie... here is the whole scene (edited because this is a family board); -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Henry Hill: You're a pistol, you're really funny. You're really funny. Tommy DeVito: What do you mean I'm funny? Henry Hill: It's funny, you know. It's a good story, it's funny, you're a funny guy. Tommy DeVito: what do you mean, you mean the way I talk? What? Henry Hill: It's just, you know. You're just funny, it's... funny, the way you tell the story and everything. Tommy DeVito: [it becomes quiet] Funny how? What's funny about it? Anthony Stabile: Tommy no, You got it all wrong. Tommy DeVito: Oh, oh, Anthony. He's a big boy, he knows what he said. What did ya say? Funny how? Henry Hill: Jus... Tommy DeVito: What? Henry Hill: Just... ya know... you're funny. Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little ****** up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to ******* amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? Henry Hill: Just... you know, how you tell the story, what? Tommy DeVito: No, no, I don't know, you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the **** am I funny, what the **** is so funny about me? Tell me, tell me what's funny! Henry Hill: [long pause] Get the **** out of here, Tommy! Tommy DeVito: [everyone laughs] Ya ************ I almost had him, I almost had him. Ya stuttering ***** ya. Frankie, was he shaking? I wonder about you sometimes, Henry. You may fold under questioning. As you can tell by all the asterisks this isn't a Movie to watch with the kids, but it is really a good movie with lots of well developed characters and good actors. If you like Mob movies, I would say this ranks right up there with "The Godfather" and "Casino"
  3. I figured everyone had seen it. it's a classic, but the quote come from a scene where joe pecsi' character is busting a guys chops whe he says "you're funny" It's a very funny scene, and I recomend the movie highly.
  4. My comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. it was a quote from good fella's
  5. Thanks that's been driving me nutz for months.
  6. What do you mean I'm funny? You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little messed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? 8)
  7. Ok Gregg & Jairus... I've been meaning to ask this for a long time; In the description of the "under Glass" section it says "This forum is for posting finished (pau) models in all their glory, just like a display case!" What the heck does (pau) mean? I googled it even, and here's what I found; 1. It's a city in france 2. Punjab Agricultural University, in Ludhiana India 3. Population Activities Unit, whickh is part of the United nations. But I can't find anything refering to finished model kits.
  8. The wierdest part is it looks to be a Revell kit. was this in an AMT Box? And no that isn't a prepaint, I'm willing to bet it was returned to walmart, and re-shrink wrapped by a minimum wage worker and put back on the shelf
  9. Very cool build. Definately the cream of the crop. was it a rocky road on the way to completion? Seriously though this is something I've been wanting to do for years. Maybe this will be my inspiration to do mine.
  10. I saw a 300c kit done up with the wheels and tires from the boyd coddington issue of the AMT 32 Ford. Painted up right they have a very close resmbance to a big inch magnum 500 wheel
  11. I would start with the 34 Chevy sedan from R&R... the fender unit is very close to what you need the body would need some work, but it's close
  12. I like your choice of wheels. Here is a similar car I drew in 2004...
  13. I already got mine and it is awesome!
  14. I've done an exhaustive search for photos of that car but it must have been to fast for a photographer to shoot. I can't find a one. Slixx has the decals and there may be reference photos with the decals. http://www.slixx.com/7003.htm?id=3470
  15. Not that suprising. none of the cards at the top are in the set on the bottom.
  16. Great Issue Izzy, Congrats ob the covette article! truly awesome! Harry Cool Ideas in the Sketch Pad. I plan on stealing some of those ideas on my next build. and of course a big thanks to Gregg and Jairus for the fine job of getting it all to my mailbox.
  17. That's looking great Bob, you must have been quite the modeler back in the day to have come back so strong. Having been away for so long, I'm kinda of wondering what changes you have noticed in the hobby, and the models themselves.
  18. tell the truth...you're just trying to save money on model paint.
  19. They don't allow the computer illiterate in Oregon? Nuttin' but love baby...nuttin' but love!
  20. Then you must have gone to a better school than I did!
  21. The toughest thing for me to find is Figures. I know there are a lot of figures out there but most of them are either very specialised or expensive. What i would like is some injection molded ordinary people in natural poses. Preferably in street clothes that are generic enough that you could change the look of them with paint.
  22. this is where I work my magic... For what ever reason the model car industry is suffering, This I know for sure; It's not my fault!!!! 8)
  23. You may already have one.just about any MPC, AMT, Revell kit tooled between 1975 and 1982 should have a cb radio in it. If you don't have a kit with one in it PM me and I'll mail you a few radios.
  24. Welcome Robert. I too found it really hard to talk about model cars when you can't say where you bought it, how much it costs, and problem areas. and have to be careful what kits you promote. Here you can feel free to discuss just about any facet of the hobby, with out having to worry about being censored or flamed. Because anonamous posting is agaist the rules. discussions might get heated, but in the end we all seem to walk away from it friends.
  25. Actually rumour has it that the "Lindberg baby kidnapping" is being reissued now that Hawk owns them.
