  1. Cool shots. It's good to see you posting here. I saw the sever over-reaction on the other board about your "pricing" comment. I think you will enjoy the greater freedom afforded here.
  2. Click on the link to go to full coverage of this event. Lots of great cars! http://www.eastcoastcarnews.com/blue_skies...es_and_brig.htm
  3. I have put this on my website, and offered a reward for it's return i hope it helps. http://www.eastcoastcarnews.com/index.html
  4. Dude, you are so making my brain hurt!!!
  5. This just proves that it is the small details that really make a model "pop".
  6. While they may have seen that paint syle as a joke, there are many aplications for that techique, so it is still something worth learning. as far as trashing the body, it can always be stripped and repainted if it didn't come out the way you wanted it to.
  7. Styling wise i would have to agree with you, but in the case of this car they do serve a function. Being a thinly disguised race car the wheels need to clear and allow cooling of some pretty huge brakes. In a VW Golf that has 650HP and does 0-60 in a little over 3.5 seconds uou want really good brakes. But I do agree that cars that do not need the huge wheels shouldn't have them.
  8. Heck I'd take a stock version of the kit. I'd be willing to do the modifications.
  9. if all of us were to visit one of those political discussion boards at the same time, they wouldn't know what hit them.
  10. I know it's not exactly mainstream but it's cool! Volkswagen Golf GTI W12 650 http://www.eastcoastcarnews.com/leave_conv...ind_and_let.htm
  11. Ok maybe it's hard to quantify who loves a political debate more But I bet we're pretty close to tied on this one.
  12. I also find the use of the upside down flag offensive, but probably not for the same reason. The upside down flag is used in battle when a unit is in need of help; to use the symbol in this way is not IMHO an appropriate protest. I will be honest upfront here and say I’m not a big fan of the Bush administration, but that doesn’t mean I think our country is in distress. America, is not the government, it is those that it governs. The people of our country are good people, and in times of difficulty will pull together. The flag is our symbol. It stands for us. Your family, your neighbors, and what we believe in. I will be the first to admit we have problems, but by world standards those problems are minimal. In many countries you would be imprisoned or worse just for your minor “protest†here. I will not ask that you change your avatar, because I don’t feel I have the right to. But the people who own and run this site want you to, and out of respect for them you should, just as when I visit a friend’s house for dinner, I won’t muddy the conversation with my political views. If you want to protest, I suggest you do it in a forum where it will actually make a difference. I call my senators and congressmen so often they recognize me by my voice. I have sat in their offices, and I have expressed my concerns with them on all matter of issues from minimum wage, to copyright law & royalties, to my views on the war, and terrorism. The fact that my voice can be heard with no fear of retribution proves we are not in distress.
  13. Let's see... I collect; Music, approximately 3,000 LP records, 1,500 45rpm singles, 1,800 Cds, and about 3 terabytes of MP3s movies over 2,000 DVDs Diecasts. 14. What's the story on these? It looks like you customer was looking for some odd stuff. I'm surprised you don't ask for payment in advance.
  15. What rear tires did you use? They fit the build perfectly!
  16. That looks very cool dave, It's gonna be a stunner!...Do you have any rear shots of it?
  17. Should I go retro with a 60's style dash... Or should I go modern hi-tech?... which do you think better fits the deign? should i try to combine the two?
  18. Ok You've seen the concept drawing... You saw the Test mule... Here is the begonning of the actual model. The test mulle allowed me to take exact measurements, and create drawings to know exactly what size and shape each piece needs to be, allowing me to skip a lot of trial and error normally associated with scratch building.the only hard part now is making sure everything in done in the right order. I've created a Flow chart, with the assembly steps laid out as i figure them out. Here are the results so far;
  19. while this is made from resin i felt that it belonged in the kit review section because it is a full multimedia kit. click on the link for my full review. http://www.eastcoastcarnews.com/resin_review.htm
  20. For my project "Brute Forza" I'm looking for some souces of parts i need, and wanted to get some input. For those of you who don't know what "Brute Forza" is here is the concept sketch... What I'm looking for, either from a model kit/kits or from an aftermarket source in 1/25 -1/24 scale; 1. The best looking brake master cylinder. something with well defined engraving. 2. good looking small and sleek side mirrors. 3. interior door handles. Thanks in advance.
  21. This was a tough choice, as these are two of my favorite designs of the era. I ended up putting myself of choosing which one i would rather be seen in and again the Corvetteâ„¢ won out.
  22. Steve, I took the liberty of lightening your pics so everyone can see just how cool the details of this car are. I hope you don't mind... Great Job on this.
  23. If I'm not mistaken the wheels are from the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT2
  24. How that is different is Walmart wasn't my supplier. At the time I could easily match walmarts price on model kits, simply by shaving my profit on the kit and making up the margin by selling glue, paint tools and such at full retail. With Tower hobbies (a discount mail order supplier, and thus "near everyone") being my supplier , and selling to my customers for less than it was selling to me is unfair business practices. I can't match a price that is lower than my cost and stay in business. I could beat walmart because I had selection, of both kits and accesories that was far greater than they had, and as an added plus if you shopped at my store you didn't have to go to walmart, which would be incentive enough for me. I couldn't compete with great planes when the sold the same rc stuff through tower for less than I could charge, and often with free shipping. Not to mention that as your distributer they are privy to many things such as you finances (They run a credit check on you to start an account), How much you sell, because you arder it through them, and how much you paid for it all. These are things you normally wouldn't want you rivals to know about.
