  1. Very nice so far, Bryan! I can't wait to see this one roll out of the shop...
  2. I feel like I just took a pleasant ride back to my youth. Thanks for posting this Ron! I enjoyed the models, too.
  3. Great job, Harry!! I've always been impressed by your awe-inspiring craftsmanship... just thought I'd tell ya so.
  4. When I was a little kid... I'd pour paint directly from the Testors or Pactra bottle onto the surface of the model. I called it "blob painting". It took forever to dry (if at all), and it looked awful. No paintbrush lines though.
  5. I used to drive my parents nuts with that album... You want another great Iron Butterfly song? Check out "Soul Experience"... it's on YouTube.
  6. Thank you for the photos!
  7. Thanks so much for the pictures!
  8. I cast a vote for Joe Bonamassa... He's really good (in my opinion). He'll get even better as time picks on.
  9. (I very seldom get to tell this story... it's really only for "car nuts") Back in 1962 I was a freshman at the high school in Mulvane, Kansas. One day in study hall I heard this incredible hot rod sound coming from the street in front of the school. I stood near the window and waited to see just what was making this sound... it turned out to be the "Lil' Coffin'" being driven by Mulvane resident Larry Farber (the first owner of the car). He stopped in front of the school... I thought he was just showing off. I found out later that the "Lil' Coffin'" had a horrible over heating problem due to the fact that the radiator was too small for such a large engine. Later that day he even had to have it pushed into a garage at the Marauder's Car Club location in Mulvane. The next year I moved with my parents to Tulsa, Oklahoma where I bought a '53 Plymouth with a three speed on the column. Not the sexiest car in the world but it got me where I wanted to go.
  10. Well... that "got me" the minute I saw the first photo. Excellent work!!!
  11. Howdy Travis! I've been wondering the same thing for years... I think Dallas would be the best bet. I think we both missed this one: SHOWDOWN 2014 24th Annual March Judged Contest Date: March 8, 2014, Farmers Branch, Tx.. Oh well... maybe next year?
  12. I have to agree with ya, Bob. The car shows have always been a bit... predictable? It seems like they always have less than 7 days to produce some award winning something or other. I guess the "time crunch" adds to the drama. It's also cheaper for the networks to produce reality shows. They save on writers, professionl actors, set design, etc... Money, as we know, is the bottom line.
  13. Good for you!! I know from experience that it's not easy losing weight, and it's even harder keeping it off. I've been on that weightloss merry-go-around more times than I'd like to admit... (I'm getting ready to take another ride on the diet train.) It's so much more fun to put it on than to take it off, isn't it? You did GREAT!! CONGRATS!!
  14. Love the Mercury...!!
  15. Ditto on all the comments from me, too! Excellent work...!!!
  16. I too join the stunned crowd! GREAT job, John!! Absolutely beautiful....! That box took me back, too. It's hard to believe that SMP/AMT once priced those at $1.49.
  17. Yes, thanks a lot for the links! Very informative and what a great job, too! I enjoyed this very much...!
