Just wait till you receive the hearing aid offers, the pre-paid creamation offers, the "help! I've fallen and can't get up" Life Alert offers. I've been getting those for years. Just bury me in my paint booth...
I'll add another second to Jeff's post. I haven't really met any of you... I just sort of look & post every once in awhile, but I sure do enjoy everyone's hard work. Thanks to all for my many hours of viewing and reading pleasure! Good for you Mike! I hope you continue to feel better! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! ...and, HAPPY BUILDING!!!
Speaking of something that needs to be kitted... How 'bout a 1/16th or 1/8th scale '40 Ford? Or maybe a '52 Plymouth? Or a 2014 Toyota 4Runner? Or... or... I guess I'm dreaming... I'll stop now.
The more I think about it, Thomas... I guess I don't really notice the release dates on my model magazines. I'm just so happy to get a copy that it doesn't matter whether it's up to date or not. Thanks for all of your hard work Greg, Harry, and crew!
I subscribe to both MCM and SM. They used to arrive torn, wrinkled, and the covers were always a bit damp. Needless to say this was VERY irritating. I finally spoke with the carrier. It turns out that he would put them under his arm while making his rounds. It gets hot here in Austin during the summer... the dampness was his perspiration! He has since changed his ways and now the issues arrive intact and free of bodily secretions (...and I don't have to wash my hands after reading them). It would be nice to have MCM and SM arrive in a plastic enclosure, but I'm sure the cost would be too much. I do receive them on time (usually).
Dear Santa, Please bring me one 3D printer. Sincerely Yours, Doc P.S. You might want to throw in some 1/25,1/16,and 1/8th scale model cars too. And, maybe a gift certificate from TDR.
Purdy dang funny, Greg. The second picture is MUCH better!! People didn't look like that in my math class.... (if they did... I wouldn't have hated it so much!)
When you get to be my age there's more to look back on than forward. Still... I find it fun and interesting to revisit the hobby back in the "good old days". It's a privilage to have been there to experience it first hand.
Great job on your Chevy!! That first photo sure took me back.... 1959 was the year I began building models. I remember buying 3 in 1 kits for a grand total of $1.49 each! I wish I still had those models.
I'm having the same problem on this end of the Internet. It doesn't happen all the time, just enough to be slightly annoying. A big thanks for this site by the way!
