Dave... i am totally digging this build man. I am planning on scratch building one of these barrel valves myself for my vega F/C. not sure how soon I will get to making mine but will try to jump to it soon and show you how I am doing mine. keep up the great work in this build.

Scott... thanks buddy Dave... thanks for the article man. you have me wanting to try that method now. I may have to do a trial run on some sanes to see how it does. well i have been slacking on this build guys. I have started to make another mid-plate and hoping to possibly finish it tonight. then for a change of pace i think I am gonna jump back to the rear end and start making my caliper mounting bracket for the rear brakes. I need a change of pace to get me back on buildibg like crazy on this build. hopefully i will get to show some pics later.

Hey Guys.... sorry I havent been on much lately. I have been out of town so I havent done much on this build but I have some bad news I took a look at my motor mounts when I got back and they did the same thing as my sample pieces. So I will be stripping the coating off and.painting them now. I am giving up on the blacken-it on these.

Hey Scott.. i haven't forgotten about you buddy. I have been out of town since friday and have started drawing up some harness stuff late last week and will get those measurements off my real ones for ya as well. Bart i have been slacking getting Scott the ibfo he.needs for the harness's lol

Hey Guys.... well I made the plunge and blackened the front motor mounts and here is the results.... Here they are after using the Blacken-It on them: Here it is on the car mocked Up:

Scott... I was taking a look at TurboCAD and the file formats that it supports depending on the version you have it can open a few file formats I can save from Solidworks. Besides Solidworks I also have AutoCAD so there won't be a problem saving them as a .dwg for you. I have started measuring some parts and will try to get them drawn up and sent over so we can see which works best for ya. Also does your version do both 2D & 3D or just 2D?

Oh my Goodness John.... this is going to be one Killer build my friend!!! I can't not wait to see this come to life. I will be following this build for sure!! I know you will knock this out of the park like all of your other builds.

Ok....so I went back and did another test as Recommended by Bob and cleaned the brass with Lacquer thinner and so far so good with the results. I am still keeping my eye on it in case it does something funny again but here is what it looks like so far. I have it pictured up against the bad ones:

Bob... I just had sanded them and then wiped them with a blue paper towel. I will try your method of cleaning with lacquer thinner. I didn't even think of that...lol Thanks for the advice Bob, I appreciate it. will be back shortly to let you know how it worked.

Dave... I belive that is what this stuff does. you may be right that there may be something else in the brass that is making it react like that. I didnt even think aboit that. I guess I was expecting better results with it. I may just need to learn how to use the stuff lol

Ed.... that looks great with all of the body pieces on. Kenny.... you need to talk to Charlie at Pro Tech. He has the best braided lines in the business. He is also a great guy to do business with too.

Dave you seriously impress me with every new update bud. Man you are just killing this build. I love the shocks and strurts. They look great as well as the detail ob the rear end and calipers. You have me wondering what you will do next on this build.

Hey Scott...wanted to let you know i pulled my old Diest harness's out of the attic last night. gonna start getting them measured and drawn up for you. i am also gonna measure my photo etch ones too and the Simpsons that are currently in my El Camino. by the way what cad system are you using and what file formats does it like or can you open. i know you said your etcher uses .dwg's from you. i can save to that with no problems. Sorry its taken me a little bit to get this info to you.

Charlie.... this build is just beautiful. I really enjoyed watching this one come together. your builds are always so clean and nice. your craftsmanship is up there with the best. this has to be one of my favorite builds of yours so far. I cant wait to see the next build you have in store for us.

Dave... I don't think it's rude at all to ask that question. You know I am not sure why I just didn't make it out of Aluminum. I think I went with the brass because I wanted to try the Blacken-It out and it said it won't work on Aluminum. Plus I didn't know of any time of home Anodize kits out there. I probably would of been better off making them from aluminum...lol

John... This build is off the charts Bro!!! The paint is looking killer.. so is the Alclad Tin work man. I think I am gonna shipe some parts to you to spray Alclad on them...lol You sure have it down. I am style dying to break mine out and spray some.

Tyrone... this build is just gorgeous and I love this Nova. Paint is killer and the work you got going on the chassis so far is just plain nice my friend. Keep up the great work!
