Fan dies after hit by debris from NHRA crash
Mooneyzs replied to Jon Cole's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yep it was very sad to hear this. I was watching the races myself. Since I live here in AZ about 15 miles away from Firebird. I watched the local news last night on this and they said that the woman was in a wheel chair and didn't see it coming. My heart goes out to this woman and her family. They will be in my prayers. -

Paul...the paint is an '06 Chrysler color called Silver Steel. Paint code is DA4 09WNS....Thanks bud, Cheers Zukiholic....Thanks! I know what you mean with the fuel cost...lol I would actually love to get another 1:1 project but I just can't afford it at the moment. I would love to get an early 60 Chevy Wagon....Bel Air, Impala, Chevelle and bag it and have it lay frame -

?? about decals yellowing
Mooneyzs replied to Mooneyzs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How long do you think you have before they would yellow again. Can you do this trick more than once or would it be bette for me to wait to do the window trick until I am about to build the kit, when I am actually done with the paint? -

Very Nice build John. You do outstanding work. I am a big fan of your builds. I can't wait to see more of them -
Very Sweet Build. Nice detail and great looking paint. Is this a 1/25 or 1/16 scale?

Thanks Bowtie.... Yea I have always been a big fan of Chevelle's and El Camino's. actually never thought I'd own a tuner but there was something that grabbed my attention to the Scion xB and then I wanted one. Plus at the time it was what I could afford and had plenty of space. Ok couple more teaser shots of the Magnum. Earlier today I had to toss the body onto the chassis to see how it looked with the wheels and stance... -
?? about decals yellowing
Mooneyzs replied to Mooneyzs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
True on the window tint but since I will be putting on the dash, that is the only window that isn't tinted in my car. The other question would be is what would happen if you were to put them in direct sunlight and not behind a window. I know being behind the window it would get much warmer for sure. -

Bill & Spider.... Thank you guys for the awesome tip. I will definitely be putting the decals on the dash of the car tomorrow and let it sit in the sun all day.... then sunday and maybe even monday. And Bill as far as the Microscale Liquid Decal film goes... I do use their Micro Sol and Micro Set product but on this Liquid Decal film, you just put it on the decals before you are actually going to put on the model correct?? Not a few days before or anything. I just wanna make sure since I have never used it. I will have to head over to one of the LHS that I go to here and pick some of that up. I can't thank you guys enough for the Tip on what to do. Thanks again. -
Very Cool!!! I like what you are doing to this kit. keep up the great work

Thanks Wheelman for the nice comments. I have actually picked up a Tamiya bB kit which is what they call it in Japan and here in the US it is the xB. But I am planning on building it just like mine, even picked up some carbon fiber decals for the hood. -
Very Cool Pick up!!

ok I have a general question on some decals that look like they have started to yellow a little bit or more so kind of an off white color. What is the best way to care for them is there something that I should spray on them so nothing happens to them and when applied will they still have that yellow look if over a white surface?? Do you think that it is possible to scan them on a high resolution scanner and reprint them on a decal sheet with an inkjet or laser printer? I have seen somewhere on this site where guys are making their own decals?? Let me know if you have had any experience with this and what you did. Or if you have any advice on what to do. Thanks in advance for the help guys. Its a kit that I really want to be able to use the decals bad for the car.

Mooneyzs replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks Bill for the nice comments. My Camino has been in the family for quite some time. My Dad actually got it before I was born and I took it over when I was 16. They Paint is still the same paint when we painted it back in 1994. and it used to have a 350 in it which got rebuilt during my high school years and then when I moved to AZ was when I decided to put a big block and redo the interior once more. Thanks on the Magnum too. I just placed the body on the chassis to see how it looks with the wheels and I will have to take it outside and take a pic for all to see. I can't wait to finish this model now. Also thanks for the heads up on the Photos, I appreciate it. -

Thanks Railfreak.... No worries on the wheels...lol Thats cool about the '69 but that sucks to hear that the frame got bent ok as Promised here are some pics of my 1:1 rides my 1971 El Camino and 2005 Scion xB The '71 El Camino. It has a 396 Big Block pushing somewhere between 450 & 500 Hp. I will have to find a picture of the car what it looked like when I was 16. -
Dragline.... this is looking fantastic, Love all the detail you have done so far. Very Clean

Thanks John....You can't beat the price on it either, compairing it what Fine line tape costs at an auto body paint supply store. I am assuming that there isn't much bleed thru when using this to mask off paint jobs? I have recently started to pick up tamiya tape but the bad thing is I think 6mm is the smallest they make it in. Thanks again, I can't wait to see some more of your builds on here. Big fan of your work
