  1. That '62 is Beautiful. I love the color, the wheels and tires look great. Very nice and clean build.
  2. Wow this is totally cool and awesome!!!I can't wait to see this when it is finished. Great work CB!
  3. Wow this was a very Nice build. Great detail on the whole car. Looks great!
  4. Great looking model John... Its Beautiful!! All of the detail looks great. I really like this build. Do you mind if I ask what you used for your roll bar padding??
  5. Bob thanks for the compliments. I have no ideas on the sponsors for it. I was thinking of looking at some decals from Slixx and picking up some "Mom & Pops" and then some general sponsors to put on it. Paint Ideas I have been thinking of metallic blue...kind of like whats on Subaru WRX's with some graphics...yellow, red...etc... Since I have pulled that kit back out when i took the pics, it made me want to finish and paint it, which I will after I finish my Wagon and rat Rod I got going on. All I need to do is wet sand the body and it will be ready for paint.
  6. Thanks Zukiholic.....yep 2 different worlds for sure my muscle car from when I was 16 to my tuner next to it... haha what can I say the xB gets great gas mileage and the Camino is not so great. I have to agree with you that I am not very fond of the new style xB either they are too round in my opinion. One of my best friends, his fiance has a hot lava xD and I love it. Thanks Nails.... Yep I have seen a few real Magnums done up nice that I wouldn't mind having. No worries on the overspray, Everytime I was shooting I pulled the garage down down just for that fact
  7. thanks guys.... I can't wait to get some color on this body. its been sitting like this for years...LOL
  8. Looking good so far, nice start on this build.
  9. Thanks guys!!! I was wondering how long it was going to take someone to notice the cars in the background...lol Yep its a 1971 El Camino and a Scion xB. I will dig up some pics of them and post them here for you guys to see.
  10. This is very awesome!!! And not to mention it is looking very good. I think I may have to go pick some solder adn try this myself. Keep us posted with more pics. Looks great. Ment to also add that I had one pair of headers on a small block chevy engine that the driver side sat and inch lower than the other so like the others here don't worry if they aren't exactly the same.
  11. ok and Update on this project.... I was waiting for the shop to get my harnder in for my clear I use. Well I got it yesterday and go the body painted today. Here are some shots of the paint work.....enjoy 1st coat of base 2nd coat of base 3rd coat of base All base finished with 4 coats of clear on top. somewhat of a side view The hood Just need to let it dry now and then will be able to finish the kit. Still debating if I am going to colorsand and polish. guess I will wait and see how it looks once dry.
  12. I use Plasti-kot Spot Filler & Primer part # 466 which is a lacquer primer
  13. Thanks Railfreak.... the ones that came with this resin kit are all pweter and you have paint the rubber on the metal wheel and was thinking if I could find something else I would rather do that. The other thing I thought is that I may have to go to walmart, target or toys r us and see if they have any 1:43 scale diecast with any cool wheels on them and buy the diecast just for the wheels
  14. This build is so Cool!!! I can't wait to see the progress on this one. I like the fact that it is something totally different.
  15. Mikey.... this is one nice build so far and I will be following it for sure. Love what you have done so far. I have been getting into a few more 1/16 scale drag kits myself. I have some I purchased years ago and recently just picked up a few others. I have posted one of the 1/16 scale kits that started years ago over in the drag section which I will be getting back to building after I finish a couple others that are currently on the table. I also have been eyeing that Sullivan fiat altered body. So does this Bob Dudek have a website that he sell's some 1/16 scale aftermarket wheels and stuff?? or did you have them make them just for you? those Rims, Break rotors and disks look great, very nice detail on them. Keep up the fantastic work here. I am excited to see what else you have in store for this build.
  16. Very Nice Paul!!! The color is awesome and can't wait to see you finish this one. I like the white interior too
  17. Very Cool Mike that looks great. I have never tried to make headers with solder yet. I may have to try it one day. Don't feel like you are trying to Hijack the thread. I like the fact that other people here like to show their projects as well. I think we all learn from one another by seeing how someone else does something, if that makes sense. I am wanting to do some headers that will just go out to the side where the tubes off the heads go in to a tapered exhaust. Hope I was able to describe it right to make sense
  18. Hey Samuri.... the Kit I used is Revell's '32 5-Window Coupe 2'n1 which I picked up at Michael's for $24.95 but had a 40% off coupon and got it for like $15 bucks. The rims are the steel rims from the kit and Tires came out of a Revell's '59 Impala kit. I just painted the wheels today and decided to go with flat black. I need to paint the lug nuts and then will post some pics of the wheels. That is an awesome link with all of the rat rods on there, just took a peak and will have to go back and really look at it.
  19. Awesome Build Mike. Love how you Z'd the frame. Thanks for the compliment's on mine. I was thinking about "Z"ing my frame but may try it on the next rat rod I do. I just got done painting my rims on the kit, Decided to go flat black and just waiting for them to dry. I have been working on getting my doors all scribbed, then it will be time to lay the bondo so I can finish the body work. I can't wait to get this in primer.
  20. Do any of you know where you can pick up some aftermarket wheels in 1/43 scale?? I recently picked up a Jimmy Flinstone Atomic Bomb in 1/43 and was looking for some different rims and tires for it. Thanks.
  21. That is so freaking cool. Totally Awesome!!
  22. Very Sweet!!! the car looks great
  23. Paul, I am planning on using the Hemi that comes in the kit and then I need to scratch build some straight headers coming off it....hmm wonder how zoomies would look
  24. Erik looking good so far. I have had similar experiences with this with mold lines and my recommendations when this happens is to take a dremel or file or anything sand thru the mold line and then lay bondo or body filler of your choice. I would say that 9 out of 10 times just sanding the mold line down I have seen them pop back. Part of the poping can be from the type of primer you use. I use a lacquer base primer and its the sovent in it that cause's the primer to pop the mold line. the other thing I have learned is mist a few coats of the primer before laying a heavy one down and that has helped me. I am looking forward to seeing this kit completed.
  25. oh cool Jody, I will have to check it out
