  1. The air-duct is almost finished and 'looks as though' it will mate with the fender flares when they are continued around the bottom of the fender. I tried to use the piece as a master to vacu-form some plastic parts but it would not get enough suction. I did not want to risk damaging the piece so had to use it as is as a one-off. So, some more priming and sanding and then gluing the works together and filling to remove the previous engineering joints and some more priming and sanding and it should be done. Doesn't take long if you say it fast!
  2. Only metal has the feel of metal.
  3. Getting there. I am posting this pic for those that have in the past queried how I do things. As you can see I use whatever will do the job. A little more constuction and filling on this and it will be ready for primer.
  4. East is east but west is best!
  5. Carb colour? What is the colour of crud?
  6. Carrying on... I have cut away the spacing filler ahead of the rad (added a bit of stripping for strength) and cut away some of the nose clip to start on the air-dam. It will be made one with the nose. When all glued and filled the scribed line will represent the joint of the nose clip and the air-dam/intake moulding.
  7. 1/72nd scale panzers and a 1/35 T-34...
  8. 40K is roughly 1/40 to 1/48 scale, the kroot pictured stand 1 1/2 inches tall. The beasties are usually modeled larger than the humans so sometimes 1/35 scale stuff works well as add-ons. Just what looks good to the eye.

A diorama does not have to be large to tell a story. Scale gets to be a factor when you are doing a large project such as trying to replicate Mosport racetrack from start to finish! It is possible to do a nice diorama with a 1/24 scale auto on a 1 ft by 1 ft base so don't get hung up on size and scale.
  10. I got one at Cosco years ago with a 3 gal tank, seems to take care of any moisture problems. Not quiet or small and handy but also is a good all round bench compressor and will re-inflate my car tires!
  11. It is all part of the Games-Workshop Warhammer/40K games product line. Completely fantasy so it lends itself to all sorts of off the wall conversions. There are many sites devoted to it http://www.heresy-online.net being just one.
  12. You probably could. If I were to do it I might try using some shaped clear sprue or some such as a base and maybe build it up-side-down. It would be an interesting project in any event.
  13. Thankyou. The 'water' was made with clear and white silicone caulking spread over a black garbage bag. When this is clean and fresh it looks like you can look into the depths! The silicone is now covered in dust and the bag has crumbled away. So it is not a good method to adopt without casing the exhibit.
  14. I have built the Monogram kit but this is the 1/32 scale Matchbox kit with a bunch of mods and detail added. I was happy with the aircraft but some history surfaced later and my thought processes re the details in the diorama were flawed so it was shelved (but it was fun!).
  15. This diorama was started back in the '80s but I ran into some problems that could not be corrected. I could not bear to toss it out so I have hung onto it all these years.
  16. HMCS Eyebright, WWII corvette. I built this in 1989 and entered it in the 1990 Vancouver IPMS fall show, took 1st in class. It has been sitting in a museum since then and is a little dusty and the worse for wear. It never did get a case built for it!
  17. A modded light tank into a sort of gun carrier for the 'Guard...
  18. It is the 40th millenium and the Universe knows nothing but war! Thankyou for the comments, it is modeling entirely for the fun and craziness of it.
  19. Another Orky mod... OK, so now you know that I am ever so slightly insane!
  20. British Chieftain suitably modded by Orks...
  21. First, an old, heavily modified Ford PU and its transporter.
