  1. Update, sprayed the clear and a small ridge popped out on the roof so waiting for the clear to cure a bit before seeing if it will pollish out (sigh!) .
  2. I wind light-rope around the inside of the cabinet.
  3. Closest I have to a ratrod but maybe too shiny?
  4. I would hate to see any of them hit the floor!
  5. Some of what I think you are asking for:
  6. Researching, notes, 3-ring binders, thinking, sounds like a lot of WORK to me!
  7. I think that I just like to create things, does not matter if it is a model car, a painting or a new mainspring for a Colt revolver, it is all satisfying in some primal way.
  8. Hi Randy, I used Tamiya grey primer while sanding out the flaws then smoothed before adding Tamiya fine white primer as an under-coat to Tamiya gold. I am planning to top coat with Tamiya clear which is why I am letting it cure forever (having had a bad experience by rushing)!
  9. Love the shot of the engine bay, in those days you could crawl into it and work on the engine!
  10. i don't get angry, I am always pushing my envelope, if it bursts, so what, nobody died!
  11. I have been painting, mostly, and I am going to let this cure for like ever before doing anything to it!
  12. I like it! When I was a kid I thought that that was THE car to have but I never did though.
  13. Early best wishes to all my American friends and relatives this July Fourth weekend! (imagine waving American Flag in this space!)
  14. I use plaster to shield the foam from resin, so yes, it will stick.
  15. Although not a laquer, Tremclad metal paint also has a nice subdued sheen and will shine up a bit more if gently polished with an old shirt cloth.
  16. All of the above, with the rider that I have never built a model car or truck from scratch(with the exception of a 1/24 scale British heavy armoured car that I did when I was still in high-school) Most of my scratch building was done when I was selling doll's houses and now is mostly confined to gaming. Most of my recent model vehicles are conversions and kit-bashes and OOB aircraft which hang from the ceiling and so have quite a few parts left off as unnecessary (if it aint seen it aint used!).
  17. Cute!
  18. We have always had separate bank accounts.
  19. Ouch! I had a Sunbeam Alpine the first winter that I spent in Saskatoon. I drained it and parked it for the winter and sold it the next fall.
  20. The saga continues! I am going to go with the light tan and gold combination. As you can see I am still in the filling, sanding mode.
  21. Glad to hear everything is working out.
  22. Thankyou and congrats to you guys as well.
  23. Right on Harry, but even those wheels are too much for this old dinosaur!
