  1. Good grief, I sell the stuff and I TOTALLY missed it!
  2. Wyhat did you do to fit the doors? Cut them off and glue them in?
  3. That was the problem with mine, the guy that I bought it from used it to drive his boat trailer into the chuck, took out everything aft of the springs!
  4. Man o man, I used to own one of those, even the same colour, you only forgot the rusted-out quarter-panels (and the engine looks too clean)! Good job.
  5. Very nice 'old schoolish' just the way I like 'em.

    1936 Ford

    Yessir, nice paint.
  7. I like what you have done with this so far.
  8. That is a great looking build Steve and a nice thought but I am thinking you should have bought flowers!
  9. Great job, I am sure it will have created a lasting impression. A couple of the teachers here do the same thing with rockets and some of the kids are still interested over ten years later, some getting their kids into it.
  10. And then shoot it full of holes!
  11. Well done, but I hate to be the one that points this out after you have finished, the licence plate is ALL WRONG!
  12. Great finish!
  13. Can't help you with the colour, mine was the colour of oil and dirt and dust, maybe blue with a black aircleaner. (I don't know where this font came from!)
  14. We had 'yelp' and 'wail', yelp was deafening and on a long ride the high-low wail would start to put you to sleep so we oft times would just shut everything down and make our best time. Pursuits usually ended when we lit them up so they were mostly short, it was the forty mile runs that were the nightmare. The charley car was I think the only Ford and the rest were a mix of chevs and plymouths.
  15. 455 cubic inches of gas gussling V8 Police Interceptor, brings back memories, the only way to fly! Sounded like it too when my fan clutch froze.
  16. 1977, only the charlie (highway) car had a light-bar, contra-rotating red and blue and they crossed in front of you, drove you crazy on a long trip at night! It was the only car less than a year old and the rest just had a single red gum machine on the roof. It was about the time I left in 1983 that we were getting light-bars and ditch lights and shotgun racks. One thing about it, those big boats were roomy back then!
  17. Happy 4th to all my American friends and relations!
  18. I think I like it!
  19. What is a laptop? For that matter what are climate controls? We had a motorola radio (three frequencies) and a S&W siren, NOTHING to clutter up the dash! Nice work on the car.
  20. This is the setup for forming the rear windows. The former was made from a piece of tin that was cut to shape and bent to conform to the desired contour of the window. The jig held the plastic down against the former. Boilng water was poured over it for a few seconds and the plastic took on the contours of the former. The windows now pretty much just lie in position with hardly any stress for the glue to overcome. Two jigs and formers had to be made for this job. I had to wear cotton gloves to make sure that no oils were on the plastic or my finger prints were burnt right in by the boiling water. I used Evergreen's 15 thou clear plastic which seemed to be the minimum thickness for decent shape retention. So much for window making 101!
  21. This is a shot of the rear windows fitted. They still have to be polished a bit and glued on and framed. The mess on the counter are all the attempts that for one reason or another were not right, also there was a learning curve here! I used the boiling water and jig method of forming.
  22. I like your mods, way to go.
  23. Yeah, so tell me again which pics are the 1:1 truck? Carumba! Thing is so bright, gotta wear shades!
  24. Thankyou all for the great comments. My wife is threatening a post to point out all the defects to save on having to buy me a bigger hat!
  25. Thanks guys. The gold is Tamiya with Tamiya clear over-coat. It seems with these metallic laquers you don't dare touch the surface before over-coating. If you were to polish or sand any of it you would have to do the whole thing because it darkens the colour. I have noticed this with Tamiya's gold and silver too and clear-coating does NOT return it to the original colour hence the previous screwup!
