  1. I didn't know that AMT made a Freuhauf Reefer, but they also did the Trailmobile Reefer like this Tropicana one I have and that is also found in the Coca Cola set with the old Volvo that I think is the N10 you mentioned. While I don't think it was produced in the numbers the Kenworth sets were (Dale Earnhardt, Davey Allison, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Petty, Kmart Indy Racing team, and maybe one or two others if I remember correctly), there was one I seen that was a Pete 359 with a race trailer in Dale Earnhardt markings. Also, I'm not sure of the manufacture of the kit, and I may be mistaken if it was even a 1/32 scale, but once at a show I seen a Knight Rider transporter set. I didn't pay much attention to the kit after I seen the $200 price tag!!
  2. Nice start Tim! Where are you getting the decals done, and is there a chance I could get some too? I had a friend who drove for them and I'd like to try to build his truck.
  3. I know I had a lot of fun, especially when I was racing a Dodge Viper GTS Coupe, until the stupid computer shut it down at 125 MPH!!
  4. That's what I thought to until I found the 5.0s were for those vain enough we had to have t-tops!!!
  5. Sorry to burst your bubble Rodney, but mine only had the 305 5.0 TPI since it was a (leaky) T-Top car!! EDIT:By the way, here's a pic I found on the interweb that looks just like it, man I miss that car!!!
  6. Yeah Jason, where's the updates!?!?
  7. Honestly, in my humble opinion, this is just like trying to sovle a Ford vs Chevy fight, it ain't gonna happen!! Seriously, I've owned many different vehicles in my day and I bleed Ford Blue, there are two Blue Ovals in my driveway right now, but some of my best vehicles have been any but a Ford. It really all comes down to what you want out of the car and how you drive it as to how the car is the "best" for you. Heck, one I still wish I had was a JDM!! I had a 1990 Izusu 4x4 pickup, and I wish I still had it! It had a 4 cylinder and 5 speed, got nice gas mileage even running 32 inch tires, and could run 100 mph down the interstate all day long, which it did many times thanks to what my friends called the "Highwayman Mobile Communtications Center"!! Between the CB radio, scanner, and radar detector, there wasn't a cop around I didn't know about!! Nowadays, I don't care as much about fast like I did in my twenties when I had the Izusu and also a 1988 Trans Am GTA, I care more about getting from point A to point B, and the fuel mileage along the way. It also doesn't matter what badge is on it either, just as long as it gets me there.
  8. Dennis, this is purely one of those "Wouldn't hurt to try" tyoe ideas, but what about maybe water or soap and water, especially if you just did them. At least the water won't hurt the paint!
  9. The biggest thing I can think of that you will need to do is widen the entire wedge to fit the truck. I have plans of putting one on a Dodge dually, and it is even not wide enough for the dually, as you can see in this pic. The only other thing I can think offhand you may need to do to put the wedge on a semi is you may have to modify the wheel openings to make them larger to fit around the larger semi tires.
  10. The easy way to do air hoses is with thin gauge electrical wire. I forget what it is called, but I bought a three pack of thin wire like you'd find in your computer at Radio Shack, and it comes in red, green, and I think black insulation, and is the perfect size and for the most part proper colors for air and electrical lines. All you'd need to do is paint some blue for the service air lines. It was under $10, and should last a long time!
  11. Only $13.97, when I bought mine it was $19.97!!! Trust me though, you will love it! I painted my custom truck with the Galaxy Blue, and the frame of it is also painted with the Atomic?? Green. If you want to get a taste for what it will look like, check out my WIP thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28849
  12. If you want a Cummins from one of the Italeri kits, send me a PM, I'll gladly take the Detroit off your hands!
  13. Jim, what do you use to burnish the BMF down with? I use a Q-tip to burnish BMF, and that also helps you get into tight areas like the areas where you have some of the wrinkles in the window frames. By using the Q-tip and using firm but not hard (you don't want to be rough, it will tear the foil) pressure, it will lay the foil down smooth and eliminate wrinkling. I've also found through the years going from one edge to the other, like from the drivers side corner of the window to the passenger side corner also helps eliminate the wrinkles, espacially on curved areas like the top of the back window. I hope that helps.
  14. Sorry, I didn't know any of that, I just knew they were probably the style of tire he was looking for and was just trying to help out.
  15. That's looking nice so far Josh, I can't wait to see more.
  16. Oh, you mean the throttle body connected to the intake plenum??
  17. I just checked the parts you asked about on Eric's site (he posts here as Porky) and both are listed there as being for the Revell of Germany 1/25 scale Peterbilt kits, so you are good to go. I've gotten a few things from him and is work is top notch!
  18. I know the black car in the background, does that count!?!?
  19. AWW shucks, thanks Rick! Believe it or not, that was the first time I made a YouTube video, and was even shocked when I played it through for the first time that the line "I've hauled freight out of Wheeling WV" was in sinc with the pic of my Ford custom sleeper. And yes, I have hauled freight out of Wheeling, WV. It's only 5 miles from my hometown! I thought it was too, and everyone knows I like my long sleepers!
  20. You ain't kidding!!! Life has been "happening" for me too, between starting a new blood pressure medicine at the beginning of May that did wonders for my blood pressure but zapped every bit of energy I had to my wonderful 1:1 deciding she wanted 2 new batteries and 8 new glowplugs and throwing in a nail in the steer tire for good measure last weekend, life has been like that other "stuff" that happens!! Thankfully, the doctor took me off the other medicine and put me on the higher dose of the old medicine I was taking and I have my energy back, and even felt good enough tonight to get the air conditioner back in the window so I could stop worrying the 85 degree temps INSIDE the house was going to make my kits melted lumps!! Hopefully now I can get back to the bench, and in fact going to the model room now and see if there's a cat that needs beat for being in there!!! PS: No cats will actually be harmed, just severely yelled at!!
  21. I like that idea too, Leo. Not only would that have been useful when I lengthened the frame of my LTL 9000, it would me the four kits I have with cracked frames (all in the same spot oddly ) could finally be built!
  22. Man I really wish I had the Camaro wagon for you, because the Trans Am version is my all time "Holy Grail" kit!
  23. Sure thing, and I know you have a WIP thread going on this already, but feel free to show some pics here too!
