I just went to the Testors site to look at the 'white Lightning". I would say you should have no problem shooting over it. I recently shot some candy on top of a silver that I wasn't impressed with. I thought the silver wasn't metal flake enough, the candy picked up what was there and really magnified it. I have used other colors in the Testors one coat lacquer line and I believe you will have plenty of metal flake to set off the candy (that is if the "WL" is anything like the other colors).

jeez SORRY about the reposts, something went all haywire with my browser. As far as the angled chop? Good question, I guess my only answer would be because this is my 1st chop. After reading your post I realized that I could've done the cut more "horizontal". The chop is actually "pied" as I wanted to put a bit more of a rake to the roofline. I suppose that's why I went on an angle, I was thinking angles.

little bit of progress yesterday. Got my hood hinge worked out. With the hood hinged from the front I am going to be able to display the car with the engine skirts on or off. Just about ready to start my paint job on this one.

W -409: I was going to make one, decided not to spend the time. found this one on e-bay, flatheads garage. It was only $8. I'm sure I would ve spent that much in parts. I just need to weather my tools, one day. WIPs to finish.

Been working on this one for a little while, since I've decided to hang out here, it's time to share all my WIPs (only a few). I'll spare you the details but.. I was up to the painting of the first color (it'll be 2- tone) and... "messed up". so stipper and body work done all over, just now recovering, almost back to the paint. some more...

Just started this one, kind of a side burner project while I wrap up another build or two. 1. box art 2. Laid out the cut line for the chop 3. sprayed some paint, as I did't trust the tape to stay put. After spraying a little black primer, I decided that I needed to take out more material. I added some more tape and sprayed some red (to contrast the black and white. 4. After the glue. 5. & 6. After some Vallejo putty and primer So next will be some real bondo, I love the "v" putty, but I need the qualities of a real 2-part filler. Especially on the a-pillars. I have a set of Am Sat Pirelli big and smalls that I intend to use with DM billet wheels and Eagle inserts.. The suspension is being lowered now and modified to accept the wheels. Thinking about leaving off the rear fenders, or making them smaller, i dunno. Haven't decided what color yet. Either a HOK candy combination or "rat rod" flat black. Will use a bigger than stock motor, possibly blown. Thinking about changing the dual rear doors to a more modern style tailgate and upper window Both functional.

AMT's 1960 Ford Starliner. (Photos Restored)
Tradeshowjoe replied to David G.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
looks good David, and thanks for the help with my photos. I agree about the '61 kit. Found some photos while looking for reference for my '60. Man the '61 looks much faster (while standing still). Much "meaner" lines. -
tried two things at once, not sure winch worked! one more time! Just needed to take a break, got it now. Thanks for the help.
