FIREMODELMAN replied to FIREMODELMAN's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
s for the nice replies, I've been able to get more work done on the truck the past few day's. Still have LOTS more to do, but here are a few new pics.. Thanks for looking, Dave. -
Thanks for the nice comments . The fire truck started life as the REVELL 41 pick up , I scratchbuilt the rest of it.

Sorry for not posting any WIP pics, but these two have been done many times, and I wont bore you with those pics..Anyway, the Coupe 'chief' car was built from the old Lindberg kit, while the sedan delivery was built from the AMT lowrider kit. They were built to go along with my ongoing Fremont,Ohio F.D. build's. Here's a few pics of the completed vehicles, the rear door of the rescue truck has yet to be finished.

Been a few weeks since I last posted, but I have been busy at the modeling table. This time around I'm taking an old glue bomb , and trying to turn it into an actual model I can display. The gist of the build is half a Chevy Coca-Cola pick up, and half of the AMT American LaFrance fire truck . This is a WIP, but here are a few pic's.. Thanks for looking, dave.

FIREMODELMAN replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
so sar so good.. I'd like to get my hands on one of those to do as a heavy rescue truck..Good luck on getting your model and collge work done. -
Well, here we go again with another bondo special. This started life this morning as two AMT BLAZER snap kits, I got out the saw ( i love my saw ) and began chopping both of them up. One was cut just behind the front doors, the other was cut in front and behind the doors. All glued back together. It has the look of the suburban. I'll scratchbuild a high top later , once all this dries up good. Thanks for looking,Dave.

VERY NICE, Clean build. Hope this is just the beggining for you, it looks like you will turn out to be an excellent modeler. -
Thanks Ken, and i also like the one you built.. No i did not widen the fenders, i've done this in the past with a couple other fire engine builds, but this time i said heck with it..this truck is not being made to represent anything that was 1:1, just a model. Here are few updated pics, been working on the front portion the last few days.

Thank you for all the nice comments..I have to agrre that the build possabilities on this truck might just about be endless?? I did notice that along with the missing fender's, i'm missing my lubrefiner, so it's off to the parts box again..I started work on the rescue body last night, dont have any pics yet, i'll wait till it gets farther along. Thanks again , dave. -
Pete double cab rescue..
FIREMODELMAN replied to FIREMODELMAN's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks guy's, i had a small set back the other night, this kit was boxed up with out any front fender's!!!! lucky me i had two set's of 'em in the basement, they may not be the correct one's for it, but there close enough for me. i've been working on "molding " the cab's together, so far so good. i had a change of mind on the rear of the second cab, i will add a piece of tread plate to it later this morning. Front bumper has been extended, waiting on my foil shipment so i can finish it. I'll have pics up later today, my batteries are charging right now, so look for the pics later.. Thanks for looking, dave. -
