  1. Here are a few of my older builds, that I'm not sure I posted on here. If I did my apologies for double posting. 1965 APPROVED rescue truck. Modeled after the rig from the Reading Pa. Fire Dept. 1950 CHEVROLET Fire truck. A basic kit bash between a pick up and the AMT ALF body. I did some body work, molding the roof line into the pumper body, and adding lights into the roof. Next, a 1961 Chevy. Also stared life as a pick up, mated to the ALF body, that was split down the middle, sanded down 1/4 inch, then put back together so it would match up to the pick up cab width. Front fender flares made from Bondo, roof light's molded into body work as well.
  2. Well , here she is. A VERY basic build. Almost box stock, I did add some cabinet's to the interior, and changed up the wheels and tires adding some from the parts box, and of course the emergency lights. Thanks for looking, Dave.
  3. She's looking good to me.
  4. Well , after living in a 5 bedroom house for 10 years I finaly got my own room..Having two of the kids move out, dad decided to take one of the rooms over, and get out of the COLD basement. I re-painted, moved most of my stuff up, now I'm set up and ready to build again, and not freeze my rear end off. Here's a few pics, thanks for looking, Dave.
  5. I just got my new modeling room set up, and decided to do something different with a few of my extra boxes. I simply took the bottom of the box, set it on the wall and pushed 2 thumb tacks into it, then put the lid back on. I think it looks kinda neat, and it's a cool way to store your empty boxes.
  6. Nice. Where are you buying these kit's, on-line ? They really are going to look nice on your display.
  7. WHOA, VERY NICE. The flag pole is awesome. Do you have an HO layout ? I've got one 'kinda' in progress, keep up the good work.
  8. Probably, I was thinking along the lines of a Mother-Jugg's and Speed type ambulance , juice it up with some hot rod wheels, a wild paint scheme, I think it will work.
  9. No sorry Chris, I don't know the kit they came from. 4 years ago I bought a HUGE bag of clear parts tree's from a guy at a model show for 5 bucks, I went through the whole bag and took out all the headlights and put them in a large plastic box, so when I need 2 or more, I have to dig for matching set's.
  10. I suffer from this same issue right now . I've been layed off since Dec '12, I have been lucky enough to have good friends give me kits, but I also take this time to go back and re-build some of my past efforts that were not so good. Still nothing beats having a job and going to the hobby shop just to buy a kit.
  11. Here is a project that has been on the bench for about a month. Nothing special, just a simple OOB build with added emergency stuff. This is kit was given to me by a good friend because the one I had was missing the stock grill. I did drill out the 'chrome' headlights and add clear lenses. The light bar is from a YODEL model that I added more detail to. I did add different wheels and tires from another kit, so I guess it's not 100% OOB, but close. Thanks for looking, Dave.
  12. I like it very much. Gunna be a nice model when complete.
  13. The video worked for me this morning. Looking GREAT. Keep up the good work on it, like you said, 80% of the work is in the last 20%.
  14. Hey, WHY NOT.. I think it's a cool idea. Gotta love using up parts that just sit around and add clutter.
  15. I think it looks great. I also tried the method of chopping up the 4 door car, and it still sits , all cut up. Yours came out nice.
  16. Welcome Kevin, I'm from the southern portion of the state, got a lot of great modelers on here from Ohio. .
  17. nice job so far Art. It's going to be a really good looking truck I'm sure. I'll be watching.
  18. AWSOME. Glad to see more fire related stuff.
  19. This was the 'color me gone' version. The warpage on the interior tub is pretty bad. I will figure out a way to make it sit level, I'll just sit it in the display case for a few weeks till I figure it out. Brandon, it's no big deal, I'll get this one right . I just popped open the van, maybe this will calm me down
  20. Thanks for the kind words guy's. Here are few new pic's. The interior is now complete. This thing was/is crooked as it can be. I may have to put this car away for a few weeks and move on. It's been repainted 3 times, I just got a good paint job on it, and after it sat about an hour, a gust of wind knocked it over. I may be able to cover the damage, I'll have t see. It's getting me frustrated and I don't like that. Here are the pics, Thanks for looking, Dave.
  21. Very nice and clean looking old Dodge.
  22. I've built 'most' of them. There were a few different 'brands' of cars he drove within the same department, that would be a long list to build, and since none of them are kitted, I just went with the most common. One I'd really like to do is a 74/75 Grand Torino, but I've never seen a four door, and I don't think I'd be able to convert a two door. Thank you for all the nice compliments.
  23. Looking good. Nice touch on the headlights, they look real.
  24. looks GREAT. Be sure and put pics of the dio when complete.
  25. Juan, your not the only one that stuff happens to. It bits me in the behind EVERY TIME I get in a rush. It is a hard habbit to break. The cars look GREAT . I'm sure your friend in S.A. will love it.
