update #2 this so is going together very fast. chassis, not done, but close: the stripe is on, need to re-do panel lines. the tamiya shine, no clear, no wet sand, straight from the can dullcoated wheels: engine almost done:

this is revell newer release from july, done in tamiya italian red. the hood stripe was a pain, i've never done so much measuring and testing in my life. they should have include the whole stripe, not just the pinners. got the stencile taped out: got the black painted, a little messy and un even, but it will all work out.: decal on, and opps my measurement was off a tad. ill touch up the paint before clearing.: clear is on, a bit rough, but the flat clear will take care of it.: now to mask and flat clear the stripe ... i think it came out great, so much work for one stripe. got the interior done, just simple semi-gloss black to simulate a vinyl interior. they didn't include wood grain decals like in the new 1970 mach/boss kit, but i used three shade of brown to achieve the look

excellent detail work. I love it!

looks nice, can't go wrong with red.

looks great, i don't see black/blue combos often.
-

very nice, great looking color!

thanks, i loved the kit, mainly cause I love the MINI. i would for sure build it again, it was just that chassis that had to be melted to get it to fit. it didn't look warped and not even letting it sit in a clamp with glue for 4 hours worked. i dont blame all the kits, it could of just been mine.

model kit: Revell Color: Model Master GTS Blue Mods: new wheels, painted british flag on roof. this kit didn't go together so easily, but there a reason why the chassis looks like it got melted .... well thats cause i had to melt it to get it to fit right lol i loved building this kit, looks great on the shelf and now its time to start searching for a real one, but an "S" model. thanks for viewing, leave comments ..

Bigjon! didnt realize this was you till i seen the pics. i need to start posting on here again. lol i love this one, its probably one of my favorites that you've done. you dont see many white muscle cars, plus add black to it and it makes it look better.

i really want this kit, i heard it has an opening trunk, well thats what revell said in their ad

this is A+ work for your first, my first model was full of rush strokes, fingerprints, and glue marks.
-
that is some great realism, when i saw the first few photos i though you were showing reference photos. then i realized it was the model.

Update: 6-24-10 @ Pual, yeah it the engine brace, you'll see when it all comes together. here are the complted front brakes. these were easy to paint because the caliper were molded speratly. to resemble carbon ceramic brake disk i did the same carbon fiber method and colored the disk with a pencil for the graphic look. i got alot of the front suspension done, still have a few things to add and some more details to paint. and honestly all this front suspension will be 100% covered up. once the body is on you will not be able to see it.

nice deep red color. i would maybe suggest painting the upper grille though.
-
i've found it very tough to get it all to fit together right, especially with the exhaust.

update: 6-21-10 started on the monocoque which is like the interior floor pan and engine braces. the reall car has a full carbon fiber monocoque, now it would be waaaayy to difficult( for me) to cover this in carbon fiber decals and black paints looks nothing like carbon fiber. so what i did was spray is black then go over it with VERY THIN LIGHT COATS of testors one coat lacquer graphite mettalic. i did this till i got a acceptable carbon fiber color. ill be doing this with most carbon fiber parts. now the paint does have a bit of pearl in it which really stands out in the sun, but in person this looks way more like carbon fiber than plain black paint ... leave some comments!!!!!!!
