  1. Chicago was named the Windy City because in the early years the politicians were a bunch of windbags, and not much has changed since.
  2. I just picked up the Model Master Black detail Wash, but haven't tried it yet. I have been using the Detailer, but the panel lines didn't come out well on a recent build and I'm wondering if the wash has gone bad or there was a reaction to the paint?
  3. I have a Hobby Lobby 1/2 miles from home and it is rare that I go in there unless I need a can of Testors paint, as they don't carry Tamiya paints except their primers.
  4. I do my best to support my local hobby shop as it would be a SAD day if they ever closed their doors for good.
  5. Very nice, but I'd ditch the bicycle wheels and tires.
  6. Yes, and we'll just have to deal with it the best we can as there's no turning back "the hands of time."
  7. It IS a great show as we're in our 26th year already. Last year we had just under 1000 models on the display tables. Some modelers like Rod Maskiw and Dennis drive 13 hours from Winnipeg, Canada to make this event. We usually have a display table with the latest upcoming kits from Revell, a great raffle, club displays, music, PA system, etc. There are plenty of places to eat only 10 minutes away or less from the show. I myself look forward to this show as I was attending it long before I became a member of the host club. There is also a swap meet on the day after and fairly close by as well.
  8. Hospitals are bad news as there is NEVER enough room above the ceiling to cram everything in. There's SO much stuff up there that one can't even stick their head up there to have a look see. On the other hand the architect thinks he did a great job as it looks good on paper.
  9. Very nice job on that Road Runner as I just love dem Mopars!
  10. I understand what you're saying as I've worked with guys who couldn't read a blueprint and even know where on the blueprint they were standing on a wide open floor on a new construction job. In other words if I took someone who couldn't read a blueprint and took them to a jobsite, gave them the blueprint and materials they wouldn't know where to start. And these guys were making the same money as I was, and it wasn't there very first day on the job either.
  11. Oh yes, 'bout the mid 20's so you'll need your hat and jackets. Maybe even colder at 2 a.m. Will you be at the World of Wheels Car Show this weekend, or no?
