  1. I saw and spoke with Rick Lucas yesterday at the Cedarville show and he told me that he's still in business, and that his website is still up and running as well. I did buy a sheet of decals from him as well that I hope to use on a future build.
  2. Back in the early 80's the Countryside Show used to be at the Hillside Holiday Inn and was run by the President of The Old Town Escorts Model Car Club Tom Lima Jr. and it was always a great show. LOTS of vendors and even a model car contest as well.
  3. Harry, over the years I have had to make some "attitude adjustments" in my life for one reason or another, and it definitely seems to work for me.
  4. Sorry to hear that Benny, as that's pretty "low." Most of the swap meets and contest/swap meets around here, everybody knows just about everybody else. But it did happen a few years ago when someone "lifted" a built model that was on display from one of the vendors. I don't think that it was ever recovered.
  5. They will Harry, they will. I gotta paint tomorrow, and not models. Oh well.
  6. How 'bout multiple screens, just like in a sports bar???
  7. It was a good show today at Cedarville, with lots of vendors and a contest with 'bout 170 entries, and I left early. It was good seein' all the guys I have met over the years. Seeing how I'm in the process of "down sizing" my unbuilt kit "stash," I didn't buy any model kits today, but I did buy a nice decal sheet from Rick Lucas. The weather was great for driving today as well, and not anything like the mess we had to drive through last year. Thank God, I did.
  8. SIMPLE, they don't sell enough kits to break even, yet alone make money. Moebius is coming out with two pickup kits and while they have a good reputation as a kit manufacturer, I don't see them selling the pickup truck kits like hotcakes.
  9. While it is a "routine" procedure, there's a slim chance that something may go wrong, like getting an infection in that eye. Ask me how I know. I was sent to a retina specialist, and he said that if I had waited another day, I woulda lost sight in that eye. The infection can come from the surgeon, the hospital staff, or even yourself, so although it is a slim chance ( 1 in 700) it can happen.
  10. If you don't have anything to share next month, just come along for the "ride."
  11. Don't remind me as I've used those things hundreds of times when I was working. It does look good though.
  12. As often as I want as it's only 1/2 mile away from the house.
  13. Good to see you at the AMG meeting tonight Kennyboy, and it looks like you'll fit right into the club. Liked your builds as well.
  14. I told you that spring was comin'! Didn't I?
  15. That looks sweet and Pro-Tech has some really nice hood pins as I've used them on a few builds myself.
  16. While I'm a Chicago "native" I haven't lived in the city for 40 years now, and after my mom had passed on, I don't really go into Chicago much at all.
  17. Check with Jimmy Flintstone if you're lookin' for a coupe body.
  18. A really nice show this Sunday (March 9th) in Cedarville, Illinois. I was there for the first time last year and was really impressed by the model car contest and number of vendors in the swap area. I've heard that this show grows every year. I hope to see some of you there this Sunday as I'm plannin' on being there.
  19. Thank you Roy, and all our snow will be melted by Sunday. Unfortunately I don't know which Sunday.
  20. I'm plannin' on it Bob.
  21. John, sorry to hear that you're sick but keep after it and you'll be fine soon. I started a new job in '04 with bronchitis and a week later went to Vegas for a few days. It worked out and I was able to keep that job 'til it ran out.
  22. That's cool Nick, thanks as I'll be watching it from time to time this weekend.
  23. Cool build on that Manx, and I use Dull-Cote over chrome all the time. It works great, especially over wheels, Moon tanks, front bumpers on race cars, etc. Makes the parts look like aluminum. Try it!
  24. I had pneumonia last year and went to "sick call" four times, once a month. This winter I've been pretty lucky with my health, except for a few pains from shoveling snow.
