  1. Arnie would be proud.
  2. We've been "dry" the past few days, and that's OKAY by me. I certainly don't mind not shoveling and chasin' the Toro around.
  3. I thought that it was going to be on again tonight. I think my better half recorded it on Sunday night though. I will watch it again, one way or another.
  4. Have you checked www.carsonline.com Kennyboy, and have you "cleared" it with Kerry yet???
  5. A day off is when you call in "sick," as in sick & tired. Or you call in and say that your car won't start, and it won't if you don't put the key in. Or you call in and say there's a death in the family, and then you fly out to Vegas. And you can tell your boss that you have to leave early to take your kid to the dentist, and you drop the top on the car and just go cruising.'
  6. Mikemodeler, when I was in Charlotte five years ago, I was talking to a woman about the weather in Charlotte and she said that maybe you would get an inch of snow. Guess not this year.
  7. I think that I saw on TV tonight that it will be aired again on Wednesday night, but I'm not sure.
  8. I wish you luck Jeff in finding a job and stay WASHINGTON STRONG as I admire you for that, after all you and your family have gone through. It was hard to grasp all the damage that was done to your town, even though I watch the news every day. Some people don't know how lucky they are.
  9. While I was lookin' at some older MCM while watching the show, if anyone noticed, there were a lot of good lookin' ladies on that show as well as musical talent. Not all "spring chickens," but good lookin'.
  10. There IS a LOT of talent on this forum. Don't be intimidated by the pros, build in YOUR "comfort level" and enjoy the hobby. It's fun!
  11. Welcome Jeff, as this is a great place to be. Sorry to hear of the "mayhem" in your town last yea,r as I still pray for all those who suffered losses. There are NO stupid questions, so ask away as not all of us a superior builders and some of us just want to have fun and enjoy the hobby.
  12. I thought that it was a great show as well Rich, and it makes me wonder where these past 50 years went???
  13. That Deuce is sweeeeeeet John as a good buddy surprised me with one for my birthday and whata surprise. I was elated to receive it. I have a few Danbury Mints in my die-cast collection, and they are models of cars from the 50's as I love the chrome, the two and triple toned paint jobs, and fins.
  14. Furniture stores sometimes have really nice 6 foot tall curio cabinets, but they are pricey. They are nice enough to have them in one's living room or family room where I have mine, and the wife is okay with it.
  15. I'll be lookin' for your builds at the upcomin' meetings Kennyboy.
  16. Admission prices to "off season" car shows can be expensive. There's one coming up by us next month and I haven't decided if I am going or not. At the same location last fall was the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals which is an excellent show, but the admission was $25 which is pricey. Of course if you buy your tickets online one could get a $5 discount. The food is great as we go to Hooters located not to far away, before going to the show so that we're not hungry for that overpriced BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that they call food, at the show itself. It's entertainment and that can be expensive. When the car shows and cruise nights are open during the summer months, most shows that I've attended were free to the spectators.
  17. With the meeting on Friday night , another club meeting on Saturday night (yesterday) and another meeting next Saturday morning/afternoon, it will be three model car club meetings in nine days. I can see that I'll be gettin' out of my buildin' slump REAL soon! The good news is that I was building over the summer months last year and I hope to do the same this year.
  18. Global Warming? I think that we're in the "global cooling" mode right now.
  19. Yes, even with my "new & improved" attitude, I hafta agree with you on that Craig.
  20. But looking on the bright side, we ARE another day closer to spring. Hang in there guys.
  21. While "box art" does grab my attention, I won't buy a kit for the box art as I dispose of the box once I have built the kit. I have no room for empty boxes here at my house.
  22. I wouldn't go that far Kerry, and it'll be good that Ken is "hooked." as there's always room for more at our club meetings. I'm goin' to a C.A.R.S. meeting tonight, and hopin to make the S.L.A.M. meeting next Saturday, weather permitting.
  23. Hope that we'll be seein' your more often Ken, even though you hang around with Kerry. LOL!
  24. I just watched the American Graffiti movie the other night again, as it's gotta be one of my all-time favorites.
