So...I think I may be on to something here....lol..... finally got the hinges made in 1/8 scale... well...based on my measurements of the 1/18 scale ones...lol... Installed it in ole cuz...seems to work pretty nice... I will have to make some adjustments to the hood latch, as the hinges with the springs have put some load on the hood so it no longer closes like it did when it was free floating.... Anywho...here’s a vid of it ... whatcha think?

Made an old school points and condenser distributor ..... Still haveta prime, putty and wet sand then make a mold for it...then try pulling a few casts... Watcha think? . I keep letting small stuff get me distracted..... Last night when I should have been getting the distributor ready for the mold, I kept staring at it and thinking....it's missing something.... Like plug wires....AND PLUGS! Here's my first attempt...I got so excited making it...I screwed up the dimensions...it should be longer at the thread end and shorter at the white end... And I need to figure out how to hold the brass Rod so it doesn't bend when cutting the threads with the die. Also managed to get a nut pressed into the block so the plug is removeable.....! After I get the mold done, I will have a go at it again....see if I could get the plug a bit more scale....got to make 8 of them..... Anywho... Been hunting high and low for suitable material for the grille inserts, as its way too tiny for me to attempt to scratch build ...was looking at model train construction bits but was pointed in the right direction by 2Beers! Sweet! Did a small vid...unfortunately the only opened hood I had available to test it on was the the Blazer...but hey...Holdens are also Chevys....like cousins...once removed! Lol... Watcha think?

Hey guys.... What's up? I know it's been six months since I last posted...but it seems that photobucket's embargo has been lifted...lol...my pics are back up...! I'm still building.... Just slowed down a bit...lol... Started on a HQ Tonner...then hit a wall when I couldn't find any more of those 1/18 spring loaded hood/ bonnet hinges...So I guesstimated what 1/10 should be based on the measurements of the 1/18 ones and came up with this...took a bit of trial and error... Sneaky peek...lol...Premier nose panel...getting there slowly...still need to glue in the buckets, some more sanding and clean up on the back, then a few cycles of priming, sanding, putty, sanding, priming, sanding, putty etc etc...lol! watcha think?

Still need to build the low profile air cleaner, bolt on the covers, then get the dizzy, coil and wires sorted....lol... Watcha think?

Re-installed the remote hood opener...still need to dial in the EPA on it as well as the pulley system...
