i am biulding a kenworth k123 to replicate the last and best paint scheme tom inman had on his trucks before he went out of biusiness in 82. it will be pulling a reefer also matching the company trailers. i dont have any pics of the later year trucks due to a house fire, but i found a pic on hanks truck site showing the later years trailer and an older pete.

i used a shorter axle and i trimmed out some of the hub are inside of the brake drum so it will be more realestic. i used a front rim from the revell snap kit, cut out the hub oiler then took a trailer hub from amt and cut it down. i cut the face off of an amt rim and put the face of the revell rim on in, added the hub oiler to the hub and there it is. these style of hubs were used mostly on center steer axles if i remember right, with the wheels farther in it was easier to ster with out power steering. dennis

howdy yall i got this peterbilt 352 cabover off of ebay, it was a turnpiker turned pumper firetruck. so i decided to cleanit up and biuld a early 70's tom inman company truck out of it. my grandpa and dad drove for tom inman till he went out of biusiness around 1982. i am using a pete 359 frame, its a lil long but i think it will be just fine. any hints and reminders please let me know. thanks here is a picture i found on hanks site: i am using the 3406 cat out of the revell snap kit so i had to move the alternator, change the huge starter for a smaller one and make a new motor mount so it would fit i got the cab takin apart, paint off and the first coat of primer for body work. i also cut and made my own steerabal front end. remember ive been out of modeling almost 20 years so i could use some pointers and reminders, THANKS!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY!!!!!! lookin forward to another year of hangin with you in the forums. heres a lil prayer that you might recognize. be safe out there my fellow missourian Truck Driver's Prayer Dear God above, bless this truck I drive and help me keep someone alive. Be my mortal sight this day on streets where little children play. Bless my helper fast asleep, when the night is long and deep. Keep my cargo safe and sound through the hours big and round. Make my judgement sound as steel, and be my hands upon the wheel. Bless the traveler going past, and teach him not to go so fast. Give me strength for every trip, so I may care for what they ship. Make me mindful every mile, that life is just a little while. Amen

lol no the cab is 1 peice, it has a hole between the seats , and the driver would have to ether crawl thru the small hole to get into the bunk or get out and use the sleeper door; hense the ol nikname "crawl thru" sleeper. you gotta remember way back in the day having a sleeper was a luxury and alot of them were added later. if youve ever been in an old conventional that had a roll up back window than it probably had a crawl thru sleeper on it at one time. later years they cut out the back of the cab so the driver could just sit down into his bed, hense the nikname "sit down" sleeper, or if it was a big sleeper it was called a "walk in" sleeper because the driver could walk into the sleeper and sit down on his bed. sit down and walk in sleepers are the trucks that need a replacement back panel if they pull the sleeper off because it will leave a big hole on back of the cab. i hope i helped, lol dennis -

the sleeper has a crawl thru hole not a sit down so ya dont have to do anything except put the window in it. this really is a nice kit to biuld, i will defenately biuld a few more of these. dennis -
