  9. well im stuck using testers paint, but im gonna use the airbrush. i used 1124green on the frame and i want the stripe on the truck to match, the rest of truck will be white with maybe a blue pinstripe on both sides of the green stripe. and the cab and hood are allready on the soak. to be cleaned and reprimered with duplicolor of course. it would be nice if i could get atleast 1 of these biulds painted!! lol
  10. lmao!! you know what i mean, i should never have used testers "######-in-da-can" thats the second can that messed up my model biulding enjoyment, they are out with theyre spray cans as far as im concerned. but i really do wanna learn to use my new airbrush , ive had it for 4 months allready. them things aint cheep when you buy the full meal deal, air compresser and multi pressure gun with choice of bottle or bowl. HIGHWAY YOU ARE STILL A BIG DOG BROTHER!!!
  11. oky doky i painted the cab and hood a lil bit ago, i used testers rattle can. i made 6 passes on the box before i shot the peices but i still got air bubbles on the hood and a lil on the bottom of cab. i bought an airbrush but cant find how i delute the paint, i have testers enamal paint, can anybody tell me how much i should delute it please. lol its time to stop messing with the kids stuff and step up and run with the big dogs!! thanks lol heres the mess i made:
  12. i think im gonna go with the wing air deflector i got from porky.so far my plan is to biuld a 53' spread air flat bed for the double bunk, so it wont need a big deflector plus it will leave me room underneath it to plumb a/c to the bunk. lol thats is the plan as of now lol but youall know how plans change on these trucks!!
  13. wow if thats true, youd be better off buying the original kit off evilbay its cheeper. usually around $60. i think im just gonna have to start messin around with these 1/24 kits. dennis
  14. all right i need some ideas from some of you more experianced body and paint guys, im really struggling with the body lines on this one. PLEASE ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED, lol im bout out of patience. on top half of cab is an inverted body line next to the roll down part of the cab, i eather end up with that roll sqaure or i loose the body line. on the very bottom of cab is a body line that is strait front to back, lol and dang if i can keep it that way!! thanks for any help with this here is the bottom line: here is the top line : thanks, dennis
  15. yeah ya know i am very happy with the way this kits fits together. im a pete and kw guy but i am impressed with the detail these ih eagles have, im probly goin white with a green stripe. i will definately be buying a few more of these, i like the tank set up, the wheels and steerable axle, and the frame work aint to bad either. dennis
  16. i forgot i had a couple of mock up pics for ideas here it is on its stretched frame: the head ache rack will have a wood deck, for tarps , small load etc.. any suggestions are welcome, thanks dennis

  21. hey guys thanks for all the kind words and encouragement!
  22. hello there my fellow missourian, havent seen you on in a lil while. yes i would love some pics, the ones i found arent very revealing. thanks i apreciate it. dennis
  23. i know what you mean as far as lining up the body, both peices i used were from a 4070b. the cab is rounded front to back, it was realy hard to find a happy medium and then bend the rest into shape wich was a mistake cause it is more work sanding out the warps than if i had just filled the seem lines a lil more. this biuld is alot mor technical than what i bargained for, but im keepin on it. im using primer to help me find all the warps and bad spots, i really hope i get this right. lol i bet ill have a couple hundred hours by the time im done!! dennis
  24. well i just found 2 more real life doublebunk 4070's on that site kevin, thanks for the link. well with the 4 pics of the real trucks then jerry and my models that makes 6, so much for my originallity idea lol. hmmmmmm anymore out there???????? dennis
