cowboysevens replied to cowboysevens's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment

priming / sanding
cowboysevens replied to cowboysevens's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
im just not sure why it came out like it did, the primer i used both times was from same can. i shook it very well and did it outside at about 80 degrees warm. all i know is i cant get an even surface anywhere, its almost like it foamed up and it wasnt like this when i left. i will most definately go get some duplicolor and never use model masters again! wow what a pain in the but, some places its about 1/16" thick. thanks alot for the help guys. as soon as i figure out how to put pics on here i will post progress on my three biulds ; 2 glue bombs turned into 1 day cab 4070b int. and 1 double bunk 4070b int ( never seen 1 before so i made 1) and 1 new from box 4300 transtar. thanks again im off to find some brake fluid or super clean if i got any!! ok i dont have enouph super clean, apparently the wife found my jug, lol. so dave how long do i let the brake fluid soak , does it have to be submerged or can i just brush it on and leave it?? thanks dennis -
priming / sanding
cowboysevens replied to cowboysevens's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
whats the best way, lol and most painless way to strip the primer off { my patience pretty thin with this } thanks -
all right fellas, i messed up somewhere with my priming. im using model master primer, i sprayed a light coat on cab and hood then 4 days later i sanded lightly , cleaned off all the dust then put a heavier coat on. i have been gone for 6 weaks and now im trying to sand primer, well its all cracked up and looks like it grew thicker while i was gone if you can imagine that. now im sanding my but off tryin to get this primer smoothed out. i live in s e mo. and its a lil humid here but not bad yet. any suggestions are greatly appreciated and wanted!!! thanks dennis
