  4. Deleted ..... double post
  5. The resin hoodscoop came from Competition Resins.
  6. Great looking build Niko ........ I don't usually respond to builds in progress, but this one is turning out so nice I just had to comment.
  7. ..... built for a club "12 hour build" ............. I picked an easy paint job ........... Lake Speed's 1995 Spam/Melling Thunderbird
  8. ..... another AMT Modified Stocker ........ this one is the Buick Skylark in a rather familiar livery ..... very little detail but a lot of fun to build.
  9. Not into the later cars at all ..... but I am into beautifully built models ..... great work sir.

  17. As usual, another gorgeous model from your workbench Jim ............ simply outstanding !

  19. Beautiful build sir ..... very nicely done.
  20. The chassis is the kit platform chassis (the same as in the MPC Bruce Larson Pro Stock kit) ...... the driveline, rear end, and suspension are molded in the platform The engine is the big block Chevrolet supplied with the kit, however the blower, injector, and all the blower drive equipment are all left off (as these parts would not be legal for Pro Stock , or Super Gas either). The front cover, intake manifold, carburetors, velocity stacks, and radiator hose came from my parts box. As I said, this is just a very basic build of an ex Pro Stock car which is now being run as a Super Gas car out of the Texas panhandle, also known as "the High Plains".
  21. Gorgeous build Wayne, simply stunning!
  22. ..... this is the 1981 Apache Stove/Stratagraph Buick Regal ..... run at the 1981 Daytona 500 ..... owned by Billy Hagen and driven by Terry Labonte
  23. I couldn't find a purple that looked close, so I mixed Testor's Red and Blue enamels until I found a shade that looked right.
  24. .... still another build of the AMT Twister "Vega?" ....... it's really more of a '78 Monza S ...... but when AMT grafted the Monza nose on the Vega body they left the Vega vents right behind the side glass ..... even as a Monza with a V-6, the car didn't sell well ..... the kit is a cobble ..... called a "Pro Stock" but with a blower and injector for the engine which was never allowed in Pro Stock ...... so I cobbled it a little further and turned my build into a Super Gas rig from the Texas Panhandle ....... pretty much a box stock build with the exception of carbs and intake manifold from the parts box ...... Testors Wimbledon White paint ..... Slixx decals
  25. I don't know for sure. All ten races for the Bobby Hawkins owned #16 Chevrolet in 1984 were with David Pearson behind the wheel. Larry's major successes came in the Busch Grand National Series which he won in 1986 and 1987. He did start the 1986 Daytona 500 in the #21 Pearson Racing Chevrolet, but I have not been able to find any pictures of that car. Larry's best year in Winston Cup came in 1989 when he started all 29 races and finished 23rd for the season. That year he drove the Pearson Racing #16 Buick Regal. In 1990 he only started 9 races and those were in Larry Hedrick's #41 Lumina. I modeled one of Larry's 1987 Busch winning cars ..... which was the #21 Chattanooga Chew Chevrolet
