  1. wow another pittsburgh local, i live there too. thanks for the info and i have acouple more questions,im painting my 68 charger go mango orange so im not real worried about yellowing cause i dont think it will show up but i just want something that is easier to apply instead of using a spraycan cause when i spray my models it will not be real shiney in the engine bay it will sometimes come out dull, and if i spray it to heavy it will eat away at the sharp lines and details. will the bottles of clear alos do this? and do you use like laquer thinner from walmart i beleive it is made by klean strip? also are they compatible over decals?
  2. thanks
  3. has anyone used the model master clear coat the kind in the bottle to clear their model car? i am thinking about trying it, can you use reagular enamal or laquer thinner, does it dry super shiny if applied wet how durable is it can it be wetsanded and polished. i am thinking about trying this instead of rustoleum clear any advise would be greatly appriciated. i know urethane clear would be alot of a better choice but simply dont have the money right now for it. but i know how to use it. i go to tech for autobody but just wanted to know about the model master clear in the bottle.
  4. to be 100% honest i want to see this movie cause its an action movie with beautiful cars either imports or muscle. almost every movie out there isnt a realistic movie. a movie should be exciting and want the audience to like it for what it is a movie and just a movie. now sure there are people out there who go and buy a import and make it look like a car from the movie. but thats there choice to do that and i personoly am a muscle car guy but i do like to see good looking tuners not ricers. tuneres are racing imports to me, not those cars with the loud sound systems and crappy exhaust i hate those cause kids growing up just want to fit in. i go to school and almost everyone has a brand new car their parents bought them and they waste money by putting in a sound system or they just dont take care of it. when all i would like is a used car so i can fix up lol. but back to fast 5, its a movie and if ya dont want to watch it dont watch it, but everyone has their opionon, and on this site everyone can listen to everyone elses statement why they like it or dislike it. thats why i like this site alot.
  5. really nice and great detail, i never even seen that kit
  6. very nice dart, looks super clean and ready to hit the car cruises, great job
  7. thanks everyone, this is my third 71 cuda with the shaker i built and it is the best one so far, thanks for the comments
  8. can you shoot the clear through a double action airbrush or would i need to buy a mini spraygun?
  9. well its almost done,i would of posted all the progress pics but just didnt take any. but here it is in panther pink let me know what ya think this is the first time i used bare metal foil. i need to polish out the hood and put on my side mirrors and detail the fender vents and back cuda logo
  10. for me i use walmart white or grey flat paint in a rattle can for my primer and all my builds do just fine and its only a buck for the paint. and you can use them on interior and engine pieces too. but for my basecoat i use model master paints through my airbrush. for clear i use rustoleum gloss clear it works very well dries shiny and when you wetsand and polish it out it looks beautiful. but if you putting decals under it it will only work with revell decals NOT AMT. i tried it with amt and it sort of ate them and bubbled up but not really bad to redo it but bad enough for you to tell. i use to use duplicolor clear when they had the bigger cans not the new smaller cans and they worked great over amt decals. but thats how i paint mine i also tried tamiya sprays and they are really nice but not in my price range for a rattle can but they are really nice just never used the clear.

  16. thanks guys i only paint in my garage or outside just a little jar of lacquer stinks up the house so i usually paint outside or in the garage but thanks for the comments
  17. ok thanks for the comment i do have an older single action paasche so ill try it in that one first and see how it comes out
  18. i have been using dupli color and rustoleum clears on my models after basecoats but i really want to step up to urethane clear. im in a tech school for autobody and know how to mix it and spray it, and i know it will come out alot nicer than spray can clear, but should i spray it through my paasche talon airbrush or should i buy a mini spray gun?
  19. i usually just use flat white or gray spray paint and put on acouple coats on and wetsand it and the color coats i build up the color by light coats then one nice smooth coat. but i usually clear the model with rustoleum clear. but you dont always have to clear its basiclly your choice. i find it easier to polish out and less to worry about polishing though the paint but it takes practice and for washing parts off i only wash the body off and thats like you did after im done sanding but i never wash the engine parts or even the interior and i never had any problems. but that how i do it and everyone is different so youll eventlly find out what best works for you so good luck.
  20. has anyone out there bought the 4oz. ready to spray clear from blackgoldweb.com and i also am gettting the dry pearls and rainbow flakes for it from the same website, has anyone ever used them both together or shot it through an airbrush any advice would be appriciated.
  21. very nice man i love the color with the white stripe, great job
  22. so heres my supra from the fast and the furious. its all box stock except for the spoiler which i got from a 3 pack gtr spoiler set.the paint is model masters international orange, duplicolor clear with decals under it so they shine really nice. i cut out the molded in mesh part of the hood and put in window netting, same with the front bumper.the interior is flocked and the nitrous bottles are wired up, and the engine bay is detailed with foil wire from a craft store.i also did not use the roof part it came with too many fit issues.
  23. wow man that looks great, i built that about a year ago it was a good kit but doesnt look as great as yours, also i like the base you made for it great job.
  24. very very very nice great job on them both
