help with trailers
ARTEMIS1759 replied to 1979jake's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Huh, might try that. I have been wanting to build a Hay Hauler but this is what stumped me. -

But, now question. Anyone got any idea to make bales since they don't sell miniature balers? -

The tubes for a rack would be easy to build if you are looking at a true hay hauler. But up here in North Dakota they are hauling hay out of here like crazy on any trailer they can put it on due to the draught conditions around the us. People paying like 18k a load. But hay trailers here are pretty much standard wood decking flatbeds. And if they are specific farm use they have the racks. I have seen bales on Lowboys, 48' flatbeds, Anything they fit on. -

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
ARTEMIS1759 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Hey Bob, You wanna give me some dimensions and what you used on your minigun? I need a couple that size and then I need to make some 30mm chain guns like on an A10. I just need a basis. -
Thanks. Maybe build a fleet of car haulers to haul them all with a NASCAR theme. I got three or four haulers now that need rebuilt anyhow.

Hey any you guys got a list of the cars that were driven during the fatal crashes of NASCAR? I am thinking of building a tribute collection in 1:24 or 25. The modern ones are asy but some of the older ones are a little more obscure. Maybe a list of kits that could be used too? Hey bud, it looks good, but in the old days a lot of altereds cut the fender well area out in a square shape. Then they cut the same section out of an area in front of the wheel well and moved it forward. Not telling you how to build it, just telling you how they did it. Keep up the goog work though. It is looking sharp.

a couple recent builds
ARTEMIS1759 replied to Chad's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Looks good. I like the Cali Hauler. May use that theme to build an Alaska Hauler with a CAT theme paint job. -
Hey I just wanted to point you guys down to the Big Rigs 1:1 section. I saw a couple of cool NASCAR themed rigs yesterday on the road.
-
Here is a couple of rigs I saw cruising down I94 yesterday. Sweet Pete's with Grain Trailers. This is a theme from the 2001 Dodge Ward Burton #22 Nascar (I think I may design a few paint schemes for the rigs I am rebuilding): And a John Deere Signature Series Pete: Sorry about the quality, it isn't easy to get a good pic at 75 mph, lol. And a few more Pete's from the net: This may go good with the 22 truck. Thinking of building one for my Dad since he is a blade driver:

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
ARTEMIS1759 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Hey, Doc , sorry about the misfortune with Mrs. Cranky. Hope everything goes well. -
God I love these stories. My first 58 I aquired from my uncle in 1996 who bought it from the original owner. It was a 4 door Biscayne with the Blueflame with the 3 speed and OD. It was Forrest Green and all stock. When I first saw the car, never really seeing a 58 I thought it was ugly and then it grew on me. But as fate would have it and being I was young and dumb, the deal for the car was if I kept my job I kept my car. Well, I did not keep my job and my uncle came and got it when I was gone one day with his 57 Chevy wrecker. He towed it home and proceeded o build it into a derby car and sell it. Well, it now sits in a junkyard in a half a million pieces. Hard lesson learned. So I was happy to find this one in thee shape it is in.

Yes a dual mastercylinder is in the works for my car and my Dad's 59 Bel Ar 4 door I built for him on a 10k budget. The brakes work awesome from the factory but safety is the factor when it comes to a single pot MC. But on that note also I did loose a r\brake line on a 76 Toronado and it wouldn't stop so how much an advantage I am not sure. The 4 wheel drums will stop it good enough but either way I want to add power brakes. Well, my fellow forum members, the plans are KISS but it will still have the needed kustom touches to make it a late 50s early 60s kustom. First things first is to see if I can get the blue flame to fire, not sure if it is stuck, but it did run when parked in '79. If the pistons are stuck I am going to use ATF in the boores since my uncle just did that on an old ford 6 recently. Then all mechanicals will be replaced or restored initially and replace the back window and maybe a blanket over the seats and run it like that for a while. But that is where it takes it's turn into the kustom field. The car is as follows 235 Blueflame; 3 speed with 3:55s; radio delete; dog dish caps; coral and white paint and the floors and rockers look good. Not sure on the trunk yet. SO plans are building a 261 I6 with twin super 97s; kustom built 2x2 intake and headers; finned accessories; B52 Jet Pipes exhaust tips. This is a stock 58 Delray: This was the original design in Kandy Jade Green and Ivory White and called it "Playin' for Keeps". These next to were done on MS Paint: It then evolved into the "Phenix" which is Kandy Tangerine Orange and Ivory White: Engine will be similar to this but with the Tangerine accents and Hudson Hornet Twin H Air Cleaners: Only real damage other then surface rust and a rust hole in the headlight brow:
