  1. I have two Mack B61 Dashes and I am gonna give it a shot detailing it myself, but if not I saw someone on here was detailing them. Who's the culprit so if it don't work I can have him do it?
  2. I did this one about ten years back. It's metallic Purple with a lime green frame and roll cage. I need to buff out the paint since something got spilled on it. Mostly box stock except for the quick change and slicks.
  3. Mocked up front suspension: I cut the frame in half and made a couple extensions. Now I need to figure out the best way of piecing it back together. Any suggestions?
  4. Oh yeah. My bad lol. Yeah I love Charlie Daniels.
  5. Awesome. Hey, where do you get G scale parts and such? Outside of doing semis me and my Dad want to build a G scale (1:24, 1:25) diorama and are looking for grain cars and such.
  6. Hey James what is a CDB? Guess of all the acronyms I know (being military and all) don't think I ever heard that one.
  7. Hey all. Anyone got good pictures of a detailed 12v Detroit model or good reference pics? I can't find any good ones. I want to detail mine as much as possible. Maybe also a 16 speed hot stick 4x4 trans, transfercase and 6x6 axle setup. I want to plumb the chassis and so on.
  8. Lookin good but what is with the tank covers on the side? Or is it road rash from trucking in the mountains?
  9. Thanks, Next I am going to add the 1.5" to the frame and then start the chassis so I got a base.
  10. I figured it was. Its not like a spectacular race truck but is cool none the less.
  11. Not that I know of. Some kits come with thin plastic. I was told celophane also works.
  12. Look good. Don't feel bad I am new to detailing out models (mainly since I just started putting them together again last year. Been about 15 years and never did detail before.) But now I am just giving anything I think is cool a shot. Lots of good info and members ready to give it here. Welcome. I have all American trucks as of late but I think I am going to break into the foreign market soon. I was stationed in Kosovo for 9 months so got to see a few there.
  13. Yeah they got to be rare. My Dad got all his kits from a supplier out in Montana. Whenever he would roll through the guy would save 2 or 3 of any new truck kit that came out in 79 and early 80s It is just a shame that most of them have been lost through acts of nature and family.
  14. I think your right Daniel on the yellow one. Now that I saw the pic with That rig it has the white visor that I am sure was the Papa truck.
  15. Here are all the Drag Rigs I found. I know there are a butt load of NASCAR rigs but I guess it was mainly the racers I was looking at. These are the kits I found: I didn't even know some of these existed??
  16. Yeah I will keep you guys in mind as I cast them because I really like the setup n the Superboss. It's clean and simple. I am gonne throw up a list down in the rigs section and see who all built the race trucks.
  17. Free program from Google: Sketchup. It isn't autocad by any means but it's close. No shiny surfaces.
  18. With all the threads on race trucks I designed my own. It is 1960 KW with an Allison V-1720 12 cylinder Aircraft Engine so I painted it Olive Drab green with a nose cone in the grille and called it the Tokyo Express. The second one is my own creation of a B61 Mack "Superliner"
  19. Yeah I got about 75 trucks yet. But I found a web site that showed the race vehicles so I tracked em down now. The thunder was also cast as a Budweiser truck.
  20. Ok it is an IH Eagle race truck. Found a pic:
  21. First the pics: In these three pics I have a Model of a White race truck (yellow and Black Cast). I think the yellow hauler is for the truck but am not sure since the White is the only other race vehicle in the stash other then the Malone units and a Bud dragster. Anyone got info on these? Never heard anyone evr mention these kits and info on the Budweiser set?
