2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
ARTEMIS1759 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
OK all. These renderings are up for grabs except the Mack Gun truck. This is going to be my first full custom build so this may take me a while with the help of my wife. I have to wait til next month when I got some extra cash to get the 2 cabs I need so I can start on the chassis. Plan to fab in resin quite a few of these parts since I had no reply from Saurkraut on the 6x6 rockwell axles I was looking at. AIT has most other parts I need and I am going to try my hand at resin with the wheels. I believe AIT also has the huge michelin military tires I was loooking at. So with no further adoo this is what I scavenged from the parts box: Still wondering what kind of axles Mack used to use that look like top loader rockwells? I have most parts from the Mack DM600 (?). I think that is the one. I was using it for parts to make a duck but I plan to buy that kit new now so I can use those parts. Some parts may not be used I just took whatever I thought may be useful. I got sleeper parts, car parts, pickup parts and semi and trailer parts too. What was the deadline again. Sorry about the great quality pics. my good camera broke and I used my cell. -

These are sweet. Here is a 38 Dodge COE with an art deco flare I did. Yes the trailer is a little out of proportion. Feel free to build it. -

Wow i hope mine turns out half as good as these you guys are posting. Kudos on the double stack Caddy and the RAZR car. And now for a few more pieces. I will post one pic each from now on. PM me if you want more. These are all up for grabs except my Mack Gun Truck I first posted. So first off got a 1964 Chevy Crew Cab Dually 4x4 with a steel tombstone (Death Race) on the back and a Quad .50 AA gun in the box. Front bumper and winch are from a white half track. By the way "USHF" stands for United States Hell Force. How about a Ferret with twin .50s and a full auto MK19 Grenade Launcher? Now for you biker guys. A chopper with two rear axles and a twin .50 Turret. Also 2-5.56 mini guns on each side of the tank. I would recommend a V8 conversion for this one though. And last but not least for you import guys a 1997 Supra RZ with twin Turbo and 6 speed with 4-M134 Miniguns forward and two back with a grille guard/plow similar to the Mad Max Semi and a huge armored plate on back and lots of carbon fiber. -

Here is some more inspiration: This link is for when I was doing research on gun trucks so check these pics out. https://www.facebook...01323457&type=3 Someone should also try doing a WW2 DCKW (think that is right) A cool 53 Mack lowrider that would make a cool rig for this: And since there was a Lego set on here here is a Vietnam gun truck I did called "Nancy" with a WW2 quad .50 setup: I will design and find more inspiration while I am waiting on parts. Need to do some more research before I get the frame together. -

so Ben is it possible to make one set for a rig? Just wondering because I am trying to figure out how to make a set of these in that size. Or would you have blanks with the nuts and such? Need 53" Michelin XZLs to fit them too but no luck on those either. Could also use a set of these on the wrecker for my wrecker. I knw the problem is that you probably need bulk. What would they cost? -

Galaxium rocks. These builds are awesome. Hey, Doc, when is the convoy scheduled for? In December or sooner? I will send mine in for it but this will probably be a few month build. Anyone got info on 1:24/1;25 small arms like M16s, a deasert eagle and such online? I like realism? Scavenged the parts box last night and found lots of Diamond plate and a few other bits and pieces including a HD Frame from a DM600 and other parts from it. Anyone got a line on a 12v71? Hey Agent, what is the base model on the scout? One more question, on the Ertl abomination of the "Duck" mack, what rear axles are those? They almost look like rockwells or at least could be disguised to look like rockwells with a little work. -

I have had parts in for a week now and still no sign of warpage. I had some more paint that would not come off but it is all peeling now. -

Here is some more inspiration: This is a steam powered pete that would probably make a cool truck. It has steam train running gear: http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj291/ARTEMIS1759/Art%20Work/#!cpZZ2QQtppZZ28 Don't forget our soldier's hillbilly armor and gun trucks. http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=AvoRSbPNY8gHoa_P4t8GgX.bvZx4?p=hillbilly+armor&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-701 And then their was the Tonka Appocalypse trucks that I can not seem to find a pic of that will work. -

I will have to start scavenging the parts box for now because I will not have extra money unttil next month for the cab and chassis parts I need. Although I got a paystar that I am not a big fan of. It has an extended chassis so maybe I will start out with that. Anyone know of a Detroit 12v71 in 1:25th? -

ARTEMIS1759 replied to Nova-ss's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Lol it's all good. I guess I never checked the exact box length. Just new it was close. I also noticed on this model that it has vent windows and lever door handles. The door handles are correct for 50 but not the vent windows. I am part of that board. Been a while. Need to start actively lookin for a project other then the 65 REO truck. -

OK so did some prelim planning with the sketchup so it will be a little easier to scale things out and this is what I came up with. The truck is called "Laviathan" and the driver is Rhiannon. Her uniform will ptobably change to my original design I got. The pics may not be totally accurate engine wise because I just spliced to 6v71s together. It has two rotary cannons off an A10 worthog, 2 20mm chain guns from an Apache, dual ma duece .50 cals in the top turret and a set of M134 mini guns on the back turret. All weapons are remotely operated from the cab so there would be a need of a TC to run them. Directly behind the cab is the extra weapon and ammo storage and inside is a dual weapon rack between the seats and a rack against the back wall. And a Kawasaki 250 enduro for a quick getaway vehicle if need be. (yes I know the one I used is only a 125 ) It also has the railroad running gear from a larger RR repair truck for quicker movement around the territory. Wife also suggested to use something to deploy caltrops behind the truck. The aircleaners, windshield, bumper and mirrors are from an MRAP. It will have a winch on the front (forgot that). Maybe a few more auxillary lights. Original Rhi design: So now it is time to get to the fun stuff. Good lookin builds on here, keep it up. Good Luck all. -

Ok I am in with the wife. She said she will help. Lookin at a old military 10 T Mack 6x6 type chassis with rockwells and a B87 Mack with an integrated sleeper like this on the AIT site (yes I know the grille is not B87). Loaded with weapons and still lookin sharp. Designed it a while back and wanted to build it a s a model. Quick look: -
