  1. Chris, thank you. Thats what I was looking to read. It must be sorta like ebay? I will look into it as it seems like an alternative to ebay. Dont get me wrong ebay is good but shipping costs from some sellers are pretty expensive compaired to other sights. Drew C. from S.C.

  7. Thank you both for your reply! Im looking for an alternative to buy parts, kits since im new to the hobby again. Maybe the moderators might consider putting an area in for selling direct for use newbies! Seems like the local flea markets are pretty dried up on kits now too! Thanks for sharing your input. Any others? Drew C.
  8. Hello all, im looking at emodels as a place to buy some kits other than ebay , parts, etc. since I new and have nothing to trade here yet. Anyone on there? Im kinda concerned about listing my address, phone number and other information. Im pretty secure with that stuff. What are your thoughts? Drew C. from S.C.
  9. Hello all, im trying to relive my youth. Im getting togather parts, supplies to build a replica 1980-84 style NDRA dirt track car. It will be simular to style as this one pictured. Im thinking of buying some sheet styreen for the body. What thickness do you recomend? o1o,020 or? Thanks for your replies.
  10. Maybe if its not already mentioned. Double or tripple box the items? We sell on ebay and always double box on stuff, tripple if its glass, breakable, or really expensive. Luckly we have not had a broken item yet. Lotsa bubblewrap, packing peanuts, old foam or even more cardboard, shredded up newspaper, grocery store bags. Ive even gotten free thicker foam from an upholstery shop. Hope this helps you some. Drew C. from S.C.
  11. I like it. Air cooled rules! Great stuff! Drew
  12. Hello, thanks for the info. I will check it out. I grew up in Illinois and had a connection with NDRA from 1979-1982 and was able to attend many races. Thanks again for your help! Drew C.
  13. Hello, anyone have any ideas where to look for a body or kit parts like this one in the photo. I had the honor to run a bit with the orignal NDRA as a kid. The orignal "rockem sockem sideways traveling dirt show" Im looking to scratch build a car like this. Thanks for the info. Drew C.

  15. Morning, well thats the first model ive seen. Cancer sucks! I shoot for a motorcycle magazine and im always interested in tribute anything! This is a really cool way of being involved. Just a thoguht, why not build one and donate it to a Childrens hospital (PM me if interested in finding one in toyr area)or something to be raffled off. Ive seen some crazy bikers bid real money for items donated at a charity fund raiser. Give me an idea to build a bike of somesort to be auctioned off! Thanks for sharing. Drew aka Shootenanny.
  16. Looks really clean! Nice green color too. What are the wheels from? I likes VWs! Drew
  17. Hello all, we recently bought a new to us home. Im currently working on my hobby shop. It will house my current air compressor from my old shop until I can save up for a newer quiet compressor. My compressor is a 5 horsepower 220 volt with a 60 gallon upright tall tank. Should be plenty to airbrush with! LOL! Was going to sell it with my old place but hey its paid for and will work just fine. My question is im thinking of making a closet for it inside the corner of my shop to quiet it down a bit. It is pretty loud in my metal building now but might sound a bit quieter in my new wooden shop? Im looking at insulation as well as something called 703 board.( http://www.atsacoustics.com/item--Owens-Corning-703-Case-of-6--1004.html ) Got a coworker who is a drum playing wizard fool and he swears this 703 is the stuff to use to make it quiet for us old guys. If its too loud your tooo old! Any ideas? closet will be about 3 foot by 3 foot with a tall 10 foor ceiling height to vent out. Maybe put in a small fan too? The compressor takes 7-10 minutes to completely fill up, and im a bit closer to my new neighbors than my old place so silence is golden! Plan to run the compressor to fill and shut off running on the 60 gallons of air while painting. Thanks for the ideas, Drew
  18. Congrats! Hey did Forrest Gump tell us all something like "50 is as 50 does" Welcome to the old guys rule club my friend! Drew the 50 guy too!
  19. Make sure you get to CKM show on August 21. Should be tons of great models and from what I hear, the swap & vendor area is full of deals. Hello from South Carolina. Ok dont bash me too badly! Where is this show your talking about. Might make a good day trip! Drew
  20. This is a great kit. Ive built a few 409 model cars. The headers dont look correct for a 409 car. Were they with the kit? My real street car had a set of orignal stahl 2 piece that wrapped over the frame and exited behind the rear wheels. Surprised me that they never leaked! I had a 61 Belair that never got finished before it was sold................long ago. Drew
  21. Like motorcycles, cars and the people who do too? Have a look sometime, might be some modeling inspiration too? Moderator remove if not approprirate here http://www.ridebyshootings.com
