  2. Anyone been to this show? Is this more of a local event or is it worth 4.5 hours drive time? Thanks for the help .
  3. Thanks Mike that's appreciated info, paints on the way.
  4. I have read that a lot of you folks use the HOK paints & was wondering where you buy it from? I have seen it for sale in gallon & quart sizes, which seems like a whole lot to keep on hand. Does it have a shelf life? Do they sale it in smaller amounts?(4.0zs maybe) As always thanks in advance.

    32 Ford's

My First model that I have built since my child hood days. Love those 32"s
  6. Smooth looking model. Not sure why it is a skill level three.I to am building this model & so far things are going well.Hope mine turns out as nice as yours.
  7. Thanks I would love to see it.
  8. Has anyone built this model? I'm having a problem with the windshield frame. I think that the frame may be intended for a convertible because it does not seem to fit this model. I was going to paint it with alclad lacquer chrome 11 but now I think that I will have to try my first attempt at BMF.Guess that I might be covering the frame bed instead of the actual frame itself.Any help would be appreciated
  9. I made mine out of scrape plywood & painted it with available paints. I used some flex duct that I got from a construction dumpster .I also bought a attic exhaust fan from Home Depot for seventy dollars. This set up exceeded my expectations & removes all fumes from the interior building. One tip that I learned the hard way is to spray mist water into the air & onto the surface of the paint booth & spread a cheap plastic drop cloth on the floor to help prevent dust lint that sometimes settles onto that perfect paint job.
  10. Same here. I sanded down the the raised lettering & floated the decal onto the tires side wall, dried it off with a paper towel & sprayed it down with with Tester's dull cote.Sorry that the tire shots are at a distance but that was the the best tire shot with dull cote that I have.
  11. I bought a bottle of it & it reacted like liquid smoke. It was way to thin. I ended up using gloss black which gave me better results.
  12. I'm not sure about the masking tape but I used sports tape & sprayed it with a acrylic tan. I googled muffler wraps & the color came out pretty close to the 1:1 that was being advertised.

    Anglia

Nice. I have a kit like that one. Hope it turns out as good as yours did.The interior looks top shelf as well.
  14. Looks nice ,I especially like the Panther lurking in the back there.
  15. Boy I'm starting to pump these babies out like a puppy mill. I was in Michael's the other day & bought a metal stencil brass I think. I was originally going to put gold strips down the middle until the idea came to me about the feet. The AMT kit was great, everything fit great. I think that I will buy another one of these for my secret stash. All in all I had a great time building this one.
  16. Awesome. The paint looks like you could touch it & get a ripple effect, like on a pond.
  17. I use bleach as well & found this puppy to be handy little find.
  18. Most finger nail paints are enamel & should be mixed accordingly. I have never used them because they seem a bit pricey. Even at Wal-mart they seem to run six bucks for a .25 oz. I have seen them for a buck a bottle but the colors just did not apeal to me @ the time.
  19. Thanks Jairus that is exactly what I was looking for.Drew I'm in Hilton Head Island (The low country)SC
  20. Anyone have any ideas on how to make a convincing surfboard for a 1953 ford pickup? Maybe some place to buy. Thanks in advance Gary
  21. I went with a 1950 studebaker bullet nose.
  22. Thanks Tom for the response I will now order four bottles from Tower.
  23. There not much to lose but the nearest hobby shop is 100 miles away & then some & they do not sale Tamiya pants. Just looking for the easy way out I guess. I know that mail order is the only option & will go that route one way or another. I would like to buy with confidence knowing the end results versus buying a sample amount then turning around & paying shipping twice if the test results are positive. Thanks in advance Gary
  24. I like it ,nice work. Tower has them & I'm going to get one soon.
  25. Back to urethane clear, can urethane clear be shot over Tamiya Acrylic XF-6 Copper ?
