No, no real modifications. Just some sanding on the 64s tubs underside around the trans tunnel.

Got the interior finished, except for the 5 point harness, from SMBC, and maybe an aftermarket tach. Going to let it rest for today, as it seems everything is going wrong, and I don't want to make any mistakes.

This was not recent, I'm going back about 40 years.

I always find myself looking online at the pictures of the 1:1 427 lightweights. One beautiful car. My dad had a 64 XL that was maroon. with black interior. I do believe it had a 289. Can you believe he sold it because he wanted a four door???

Very nice build. You did a fine job on a not so fine chassis. That's the nicest single chassis I've seen.

All I can say is WOW. Very nice!!! Your detailing skills are fantastic. The 64 is my favorite Galaxie.

I like MCWs stuff. I got some Z-11 stuff, like headers and such, and I probably spent just as much time cleaning them up as I would have on styrene. I'm currently waiting on a 63 Galaxie lightweight interior kit from MCW, for my next project.

Thanks Carl & Larry. Me too. My Dad had a 64, that was maroon, with a black interior. I like all the old Fords, even though I am bit of a GM guy. I like the 64 best.

Primed and painted the Fords interior today. Primed it with a gray primer, because the Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red was too bright, and the darker primer toned it down a bit. Kind of looks like a real red interior from the 60s now. The roll bar was primed white, so it would have a different shade from the rest of the interior. Tomorrow, I will give the tub a shot of dull coat, and start to detail it some.

John, its the AMT kit. Just had to remove the hood. The chassis is a 60 starliner, and the engine is from the T Bolt kit. I have to get another Starliner chassis, because I want to do a 63 Galaxie next.

This thread is back from the dead. I got in the mood to do some building about a few weeks ago. Been away for over a year and a half. Decided to change the engine to look more like the one in the tribute car.

After viewing the fantastic builds of Rod's 64 promo Galaxie, and Clifford's 30 year old build of a 64 lightweight, I got the itch to build one. This one is pretty much waiting to get paint on the body, and interior, then final assembly. Love those old FORDS!!!

Yea, I have a Parts Pak, 427, that I will most likely put into the T Bolt kit, I stole the 427 from, to build my 64 Galaxie. I really would like to do a 63 with the SOHC engine, and a lightweight interior from MCW. Thanks for all the replies everyone....

Thanks Monty. I know about the engine being a "race only" item. I'm planning on building a 1963 Galaxie lightweight, as soon as I finish the 64 427 that's almost completed.

Can anyone tell me what kit I would need to get, to scrounge this engine from? Thank You

Hello everyone. I've been away from the model workbench, and this forum, for two years or so, but getting back to it recently. Looking at some of the builds and posts, it seems like I never left. I just dug my supplies out of the closet, checked out my paint jars, replaced the mucked up ones, and I am looking forward to get back into some building. All I really had to do was replace a few Tamiya jars, and buy some new BMF. Nice to be back!!

Ah Ha...He fooled us.....with the #41!!!! Beautiful build, Scott! I remember building this Lindburg kit many years ago. One question...were the wheels on this kit loose, and needed to be corrected to fit right? For some reason the one I built had this problem.

I see you put alot of time in filling the pin marks, but I was wondering if you forgot the flash running down the exhaust system??? Not trying to nit pick, as your build is amazing, and it was easy to notice with all of your great detail work.

OK after re reading that link, it was stated that the car was a "could have been" but never happened. That would explain why I had never found ANY info of it being a true race car being ran in the 60's. I happened to come across this car on Lucas Decals site, and thought it would be a nice build. I would like for it to be as correct as possible though, especially the powertrain.
