Hi guys. It's time for todays work load on our boys in the shop.
On a real note: I bought this '71 Maverick from a retired modeler for $10.
If I just dust it clean, can I clear coat over it to keep it's original build?
Here's todays work in the shop.
Dave tells Ken to hurry up and get this oil change done. We have some restoring to do.
John, Dave, and Tony (lt to rt) roll in this '71 Maverick for restoration.
Dave and Tony try to get the Boss 429 fired up.
Looks like a lot more Tony and less of Dave.
Ken gets ready to fire the engine as Tony will check for leaks when she fires.
Say good night to our friends, boys.
Good night friends
I did the best I could even though the kit has the wrong side molding. (more on that in the "Rant & Rave" section)
Using wheels from a '58 Edsel and adding the rear windows half rolled down.
I've been noted as having brushed on alclad. The chrome on this is painted with chrome silver by Model Master.
Built this using 2"x 2" , plywood, plexiglass.
The top, sides, and bottoms are plexiglass. The plexiglass doors slide up and down in grooves cut in the 2" x 2" frame.
Best thing about building your own is, you can build to fit.
Just thought I'd show this '59 Desoto.
'59 Desoto might like it.
Bought her off ebay for 17.50 including shipping. Had to get new wheels and tires as the old ones were chemically melted. She's not perfect, but still has beauty.
In fact, this one was modeled in Caramel. The color I painted it is supposed to represent limelight yellow.
The long ram engine is NOT with the Jo-Han kit.
Engine is from Ross Gibson.
Best research I found on the '62 300H is that, only 4 were produced with the long ram.
Someone please correct me if I'm worry.
Find a place that would make a good background to show your builds.
Take at least 2, if not 3 pictures. When clicking the camera, take the next one beside it. In a sweeping picture look. You will need to do this to make the background big enough to take a picture of.
Here's a picture of our water tower from a store parking lot. This was my first try at this idea.
Welcome back to the hobby Will.
I've only been back 8 years myself. Ya the dirt cars are cool. I retired from that after 15 years of it.
Alot of new building supplies to improve our finished product have been created.
This sure is a great hobby and is just as addictive as race car driving.
I'll be happy to see your builds.
This past New Years Eve the boys messed around in the shop.
Ken seems to have trouble staying awake.
Mark looks to have had trouble parking outside in the parking lot.
Dave and Tony degree in the camshaft on the small block Chevy.
Mark, John, and Dave check out the 427 CI Ford, ready to drop in a '32 Ford.
