  1. i have no idea how true this story is. a man was out of town and returned to discover his wife had the fruit trees that lined their driveway cut down, now he loved these trees and had worked hard pruning and spraying them.his wife said the leaves were staining the driveway. as he surveyed the situation. and saw the tree man had left his limb grinder. after a few minutes he figured it out and had it running ,went in the house grabbed a box of his wifes collector plates and threw them in the grinder she grabbed his rods and tackle box and threw them in,he grabbed a armful of her doll collection and in the grinder they went as he came out of the house with another load of dolls he saw her dumping a large box of his model cars into the grinder. the police said it took hours to recover enough of the wife for a positive identification
  2. nice to see someone who knows the differences of the 67 i have owned 3 of them two crew cabs. there were 3 heater control variations one had only the blower control under the dash.second had temperature and blower controls on the dash, third had all three temp.,blower,def.or heat.there was no side markers including the reflector on the hood and as you mentioned inside door handles and window cranks were different forgot one other model the camper special.
  3. i have seen the resin bodies of the 67 to 72 ford pu it was bad both the single and crew cab.
  4. wasn't there a 1/32 scale fairmont out a few years ago. i would like to see a fairmont futura in 1/24
  5. i would have loved to have seen them make was a 1967 to 1972 ford pickup. but to satisfy all the possible buyers of such a kit. it would have to be available in longbed, shortbed, 6 cyl. ,v-8's 302,352,360,fleetside,stepside,side mounted spare.stick shift ,column and floor.automatic 1/2 ton,3/4 ton.at least 4 different grilles 2 different hood trim,2wd.,4wd.several trim options.of course the 67 has a different interior .and there was always the crew cab option. i would love to see this kit in any form
  6. went to the show today. nice place roomy well lit.more important really great people. there were some real model bargains to be had, the vendor behind us had his kits out at 5 and 10 dollars, he then reduced them to 2.50 and 5.00 buy 4 get one free and finally 1.00 i think he had 7 nascar kits left. there was some really nice show models in all categories cars and trucks were the primary models present ,but there were some fantastic models of all types the military models had to be tough to judge with such quality . and there was a wooden model of an old paddle wheeler boat that was beautiful in both detail and quality of the build.enjoyed the day made a few bucks met some nice people. Thanks to all Ralph
  7. my first build was a 1/32 scale 1957 ford demolition derby car ,there were other cars in the series but i don't remember what they were. my dad helped me with an earlier build it was a chrome midget race car.
  8. don't let someone else ruin your day. the show in question was at a hotel maybe he was just a tourist killing time ,he surely wasn't a true model car fan. probaly waiting for the bar to open.
  9. thank you i didn't remember this kit my friend insisted it was made. very difficult to find i would imagine . as i said in the original post we (MY family} supplied the crash cars for 11 years in winston salem.
  10. I have been told that there was a mid 70's camaro released with the joie chitwood decals. did they actually release this and by what company. any one know if aftermarket decals were ever available. i ve been wanting to build a 70's chitwood camaro . here in winston salem i used to supply the cars they crashed and got to know them well. when in town they would pick my kids up at school in the chitwood camaros, it was really cool of them.
  11. hi. has anybody dealt with big donkey resins .i have seen his work on e-bay but not in person. the owner Larry Baisch was an old schoolmate of mine and his models back then were very nice, mostly northern modifieds.
  12. I really felt like it, but what would that prove, and more over what would that show to the kids ? one act of stupidity followed by another is the way to go? Iam so glad to see that this action by an inconsiderate jerk has helped to show that the people on here care and realize the future is in the hands of the younger generations. (not a master builder by a long shot) Ralph
  13. wasn't there a tube that had a triangle shaped piece that you had to twist off. and who could forget the tubes that you had to puncture with a pin .never forget squeezing the tube too hard while trying to open it and getting glue everywhere. i was a dumb kid. really thought i would grow out of that. RALPH
  14. crude junk, wouldn't bring a "f---ing " piece of sh-- like that to a show, somebody's kid must be retarded. among several others
  15. recently we attended a model car show in which several car models were entered by young modelers.(12 and under) i heard so called adults making down right rude and hurtful remarks about these cars. not everybody is a master builder and to discourage these kids before they really get started is just purely a gross act of stupidity..offer help ,ideas, and encouragement. and if you have nothing good to say, say nothing .Ralph while I have not mentioned the model club involved ,let me make it very clear the club and their members were not involved. i know most of them and they would not tolerate this kind of behaviour.
  16. i had forgotten the maroon ,i have them in gray, black, yellow, light blue ,yellow, tan and white. never saw it molded in red by amt lindbergh i know did red ,blue, white.
  17. i was refering to the coupe.another color i forgot was maroon the delivery was also molded in orange
  18. there are 2 commercial slot car tracks here near winston salem ,one is in thomasville and the other in archdale if interested i will get the addresses for you both are 8 lane tracks
  19. yeah an ugly pink that was bad about bleeding through the paint
  20. hi, us older builders remember when many kits were molded in black. amt 's 40 ford seems to have been molded in more colors than any other. if what is left to my memory is right , the colors i remember in order were ;black, grey, tan, blue, yellow, pink, white. any others or do i have the order wrong.
  21. the kit i would like to see done is a ford f series pickup 1967 to 1972 with either short bed stepside or fleetside. and the grilles for the different years
  22. i have so many started kits that all lack this one thing,"A ROUND TUIT" i often said i would finish this car or that project.when i get a round tuit. it is indeed a rare thing.
  23. wasn,t it a wonderful time though ,we thought we were indestructable. then reality reared it,s head and bit us in the butt.a lot of us either lost a friend or classmate to those fun crazy cars combined with i can drive anything attitudes. life takes a real toll when the best friend you have in the world is laying in a casket dead at 17 . 62 nova ,fiber steering coupler broke, kid meets tree at 60 mph. it slowed us all down for a while.not long though, after all we were kids and indestructable.
  24. found a unpainted, unbuilt mustang 2 annual (1976) issue. flea market find $5.00
  25. just trying to verify that there is a show / swap meet saturday sep. 25 in moganton n.c. and if so need some directions
