  1. There are many valid points made by everyone here but my point was more that I really appreciate any car, no matter where or by whom it was built, that does what it was intendid to do well. Import or domestic is very clouded these days but yes, other than being of the 2 seat variety, the Vette & Del Sol are quite different. Alot depends on what the car, or truck, does for the person who owns and drives them. Yes I have my trusty C4 Vette but have owned over time a custom GMC truck, V8 powered Vega, 2000 Camaro Z/28, Jeeps and lifted 4X4 s as well and for one reason or another loved them all
  2. Can say I understand where you are coming from, Jeff. I too have a C4 Corvette, 1986 with 131000 miles on the clock and I truly love the car. Its far from perfect but the price was right and its a blast to drive. Been a GM guy my whole life but I do appreciate the tuner car movement. In the right hands the tuners can be just as fast and just as sweet to look at. I have never owned one personally but know people who do and have driven them and they are also a blast.
  3. Looks really sweet so far. Not sure how much reference pics you have but if you haven't already done so, look up Pure Vision web site. Thats who built the car and they do awesome work. Looks like you are doing the Hammer justice.
  4. Actually scored this yesterday but I found an AMT # 6218 1970 Corvette LT-1 / ZR-1 kit at a local flea market for $13 bucks. A seller on fleabay is tryin to sell one for 40 so I'm pretty happy. One more year Vette marked off my collection list. WooHoo!!!!
  5. Looking sharp !!!!!
  6. Well upon seeing your Firebird finished all I can say is WOW! Outstanding, beautiful, impressive, awesome job !! Certainly one to be very proud of.
  7. Cool!!! Love the late 60's/ early 70's Chevy or GMC pick-em-ups. Which way ya goin? Restored, restomod, bagged on dubs, old school hot rod with suede paint? The suspense is killin me!!!! Lol I will be watchin
  8. Bro, you are absolutely NOT crazy, and as others have said you have tons of company. My obcession is Corvette kits. I am trying to find and purchase at least one for each model year. Quite a difficult task but not impossible. I even have a log sheet of those I have and those I need and am only about half way there.
  9. Welcome aboard friend. Your Chevelle is lookin fine. Glad u came back to the hobby and also found this forum. Many great people here with tons of talent that are always willing to help.
  10. Looks great in that color, Doc. Another fine build from the Lab-rat-ory. Have that kit, as well as Boyds Van Halen pickup, buried in my stash. May have to go digging.
  11. God bless all the brave men and women fighting this horrible war against evil people such as Bin Laden and others like him. Death is too good for him
  12. That is one beautiful Vette! Black paint looks terrific and your choice to use red accents instead of blue works great with the black. Great job!!!!!
  13. I bet Zsa Zsa Gabor wouldn't of slapped the cop if she was toolin around in "that" Rolls. " But of course it has a Hemi, Dahling." Very creative twist on your build. I like it alot.
  14. It seems to me that this build is the product of a highly active imagination and is a perfect example of automotive overkill and "I LOVE IT!" The metallic in that green color really pops and is gonna look awesome. Keep it comin!
  15. no I haven't but I intend to do some reasearch on them as I have a ZR/1 Vette as well as a few drag cars in my stash so I will be needing some type of C/F decals.
  16. They are made of carbon fiber. Alot lighter and stronger than fiberglass but also alot more expensive.
  17. After reading all the thoughts on this subject I believe I have it. Dr. Cranky is comin to a cable tv network near you!!!!! So what you calling it Doc, The Styrene Network or Cranky T. V. ?
  18. You are doing a totally awesome job on this build. Cannot wait to see it under glass.
  19. Fantastic job!!!! Firebird looks real sweet.
  20. Man, I really love this build idea. Somehow I missed that ride on the web but glad you didn't as it is an awesome subject. Keep up the good work, Bro.
  21. Really diggin the reasearch you are putting in to build this as accurately as possible. No doubt its going to turn out awesome. I have the same kit but I bought it with the intent to do a street car conversion but think I may change my plans. Will be following your build to see if its something I may want to try.
  22. Man that is lookin way cool!!!! I really liked that concept drawing when I saw it & looks like you really are doing it justice. Keep up the great work she is lookin good.
  23. Hey Fletch welcome to the best forum on the web, bar none!!!!! Really cool we have a bunch in common beside models as I am a guitar player n love to draw. Only painting I do is on my models but it works for me. You will be vere happy here, its a great place with many cool and talented people with a love for the hobby. By the way, Fender wouldn't have something to do with the bass guitar you play?

  25. Thats one pretty Bel-Air you have built. That color suits the car perfectly but the modern T/W combination and lowered stance give it just the right amount of attitude. Very sweet build.
