Lol!!! I had the same thought about the front pic. Beautiful job on the Plymouth. Looks awesome. The 68 Charger that Arnies buddy drove in the film was pretty sweet as well.

Hurricane Irene - lost quite a bit
jeff ewaskey replied to Drake69's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very sorry to hear about the damage to your property but at least the good Lord kept you and your family safe. Material things will return in time but I'm sure its still painful. My Mother was visiting family in the Chesapeake Beach area so I was worried like crazy. I also have other family in Maryland and Virginia as well but thankfully all of them made it through the storm with minimal issues. Hang tough Bro, do what you must do to get your family situated. Be sure to count your blessings although it is likely difficult right now. We will be here when you are back to the modeling hobby. Take care and God bless. -
Going to the U.S. Nationals!
jeff ewaskey replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
ANY NHRA national event is an experience that you never forget. No doubt you will have a great time. I have been to Columbus, twice, a few years back and was at Norwalk last year. The U.S. Nationals is certainly on my bucket list. ENJOY!!!!!! -
Saw your WIP thread and have to say you have done an excellent job on your conversion. I remember seeing pics of the real car some time ago and looks spot on to me. Great work!!!!

68 Corvette Scripts
jeff ewaskey replied to johnnyb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I believe those are remnants from the old Motion Performance release of that kit. In a factory L-88 there are no outside markings to indicate the monster in the engine bay other than the special high rise hood bulge itself. You are welcome and hope I was some help. -
68 Corvette Scripts
jeff ewaskey replied to johnnyb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No the factory L-88 Corvettes only had 427 scripts on the sides of the hood bulge the same as any other big block 427 powered car. The L-88 cars had a special high rise hood exclusive to those cars. Any 427 emblems or kit decals will suffice. -
Sweet a Dart Sport !!!! Had a great friend that recently passed on and he owned one when we were in high school. Had a 340, 4 speed and the 8 3/4 posi rear, all from a 70 Cuda, stuffed in it. Had many good times in that car. Really lookin forward to your build.

jeff ewaskey replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well John, I have to say this looks like a very cool build idea. Just recently finished reading through your Jag and Matador builds as well as some other builds and have no doubt this will be "AWESOME!" Impatiently waiting for more. Lol -

Hey thats awesome!!!!!! Congrats to you both -
Hey Romell, as has been said a zillion times in this thread, your Chevelle is absolutely a work of art. The detail and workmanship are some of the best on this, or likely any other forum. I am totally in awe. Glad this got brought back as I have spent the better part of the last 3 days reading this on my phone. Truly impressive!!!!! As far as your 1:1 Chevelle he looks like a real beast. I am a car guy as well and really enjoyed seeing the work on it as well. Cheers Bro.

Great looking WRX!!!! Only things missing are some dirt roads for it to go ripping through. Great job.

Well built C4 roadster you've got there. You captured the look perfectly. I have two kits of that model Vette, a roadster and a coupe, and know the fit issues all too well. You seem to have solved them very well. Great job!!!!

Like the old saying goes..... anyone can restore a classic but it takes a real man to cut one up!!!! Lol

MINI STYLE 06 CUSTOM MUSTANG DROP TOP
jeff ewaskey replied to David@MinidreamsInc.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
I am really impressed with your creativity and design. Keep the updates coming. As far as your skills go, all I can say is I am jealous. LOL. -
Wow the Yenko cars are certainly some of the best rides from that era and you captured the look perfectly. Great job. Although the Stinger Corvair would be a sweet addition to your builds don't forget about the Yenko turbo Stinger Vega as well. Don Yenko had his modifications going on into about 1980 or so when he , unfortunatly passed in a plane crash. His last was a 1980 turbo Camaro if my memory serves me well. Anyhow awesome job, Felix.

I may not be around for a while.
jeff ewaskey replied to highway's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Matt, I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Shasta. May your feline friend rest in peace and God be with you and your lady during, what is no doubt,a very difficult time. All of your model cars friends will be here when you are ready to return. Take care Buddy. -

Sweet idea for combining my favorite band with one of my favorite hobbies!!! Looks cool so keep it going.

Good job on your Camaro. You captured the look of the rendering very well. Nice color choice as well.

What I feel the OP was saying, and I do agree, is that he enjoys both cars. Every car is designed and built with a purpose in mind. What that purpose is are what usually appeal to the owner in some way, shape or form. Any car or truck can be built or modified to do just about anything its owner wants it to do given the right parts and enough cash. I do agree with Andrew that the Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar or the import vs. domestic things have been blown way out of proportion. That got real old a very long time ago. The point I believe Corvette Jeff was trying to make is that in his opinion he enjoys both the Honda and the Vette the same but for different reasons. Agreed its like comparing apples and bananas but different things appeal to different senses. Although I have been primarily a GM guy, I consider myself a "car guy." There is something that appeals to me about countless different cars or trucks over the course of history. True signs of the times, IMHO, are that you have import car companies participating in NASCAR and professional and sportsman drag racing which are motorsports considered truly American. On the other hand you have drifting, a primarily Japanese developed form of racing, where American muscle cars, both past and present, are competitively active. Just goes to show the us versus them days are long since dead.
