The Jeep TJ at 0:52 made it up cleanly. Ha to stop briefly at the top but kept going. No stopping the 4.0L.

I know you've received a lot of praise already, but I can't go without posting. Absolutely beautiful work. Really a loss for words on anything more to say.

Guys in Ontario who want a club farther East
Adam144 replied to Nick Winter's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
What would you be planning on doing? I can't commit to any weekly or even bi weekly meetings but may be interested in some portions. I'm in central Ontario/kawarthas. -
What are your Projects for 2011

I have a LOT of building to do. Check out page 140 (I think, whatever the latest page) of the "what did you pick up today thread". -
what was your first model
Adam144 replied to Curtis v.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My earliest memory would be from the late 80's/early 90's building this Tamiya P34 Tyrell together with my dad. I would've been between 6-9 years old. -

That paint does look great. What did you use? Airbrush? I like how defined the silver looks along the body lines.
-
Nice build. I'm building the same kit at the moment, same paint scheme (two-tone) just different colours. I have black where yours is white and Testor's "Lime Ice" One coat for where yours is pink. I'll have to make a thread sometime this week when I have time.

Nicely done! I've always wanted a 1:1 of this car in the Shiro edition.

^ It's an old Datsun Roadster. Early "fairlady" as they were referred to in Japan.

Beautiful build. Good choice of colour too, and I like how it's a bit of a mod instead of classic/stock style.

Audi R8 GT3.....one down, three more to go
Adam144 replied to Peter Lombardo's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That looks great so far! You have a lot of patience to do the multi-layer decals like that. -
I'm jealous of the 510 Datsun and the 240Z (but I own a 1:1 modified 260Z). Recent scores: Got the 49 Merc and a 79 Camaro 3 'n 1:

I have a small bottle of Testor's "Paint Brush Cleaner" that seems to work great, not even sure if it was a gift or why I have it. But i'm wondering is there anything special about this or necessary to clean up Enamel paint from brushes or can I just use regular paint thinner/varsol etc? What's the common procedure used by the veterans of the board? Thanks.

^ Nothing to be sorry about. And no shame in bein' old. I just thought my post made it sound like I was a lot older haha.
-
I don't want to give the notion that i'm old, it's been 16 years since I last built when I was about 10 years old. I used to put them together box stock and slap the decals on, no paint. But i've been a huge diecast collector my whole life. The details some of the modellers on this forum and others has always intrigued me and I decided to jump back into it and give it a shot. Anyway, I look forward to starting on it when I can. If you haven't heard from me starting within a few weeks, shoot me a PM to get me in gear hahaha. I'm always around. Some of these builds sound really interesting. Can't wait to see them.

Funny you should mention that, hindsight is 20/20. I was at a friend's house shortly after having passed that portion of hte Ferrari build and one of the guys there smokes. I was looking at his cigarette pack and thought "oh, I should've used that instead!". Funny how everyday things relate in your mind to modelling at the time. But regardless, thank you for the idea. It's a little too late for that build but I will keep it in mind for future works.

Not sure when i'll get to it but i'm newly back to modelling after a long hiatus with a couple builds on the go to get my feet wet at the moment. But if i'm allowed to follow along i'll build a Tamiya Lotus John Player Special Formula One car. It's a box stock kit if that's acceptable? Thanks.

Great advice I appreciate it. I'll try these techniques, i've got a 1960 Impala kit i'm going to try this on. Then I have a 32 Coupe and an 80's stepside GMC truck I may or may not try this on. If anyone else has anything to add I appreciate it.

When chopping a top on a model, what's the best way to cut the glass accurately or is there a preferred method? I searched around here for a while tonight and came up empty. Lots of info on how to do the roof but I didn't see anything for the windshield or other "glass".

Wow. Followed your build thread from the beginning, really impressed with the results. Nicely done.
-
Got this during my lunch break today at my local small hobby store. It's a pretty decent shop. Guess I can add this to the growing pile of un-built models I currently own and really need to get working on.

^ I figured as much I was just curious as your kit looks great and I was hoping to achieve the same results with the 2 'n 1.
-
Do you (or anyone else) know if there are any actual differences between the 2 'n 1 kit and the one you built? I actually saw this kit that you built recently at a local hobby store and became curious. I know there's the option of the grilles or wheels, but other than that if you build the one version of the 2 'n 1 is it essentially the exact same car?
