  4. Here are some update photos. I still have to polish the paint and add stripes on the fenders and slear coat them. I just mocked up the truck wtih the factory stacks and bumper but wll be using a photo etched stack kit and a polished Texas bumper. I have the interior left to do along with plumbing on the engine an chassis and then on to the detail items.

  7. This is my entry for the contest. Revell Germany 359 with parts from the revell snap Pete. I will be using the sleeper and Cat motor from the snap kit. I was wanting to get this posted before the forum went down. I have got the cab primed and sealed and have completed the bodywork on the sleeper by filliing the interior tub holes on the outside back panel of the sleeper, still need to do plumbing and detailing on the engine and chassis.
  8. A few updates since the forum has been down. I got the body work done on the back of the sleeper. I filled the interior tab holes that are in the back of the sleeper from the snap Pete cut off the steps awhile back and primed sanded and sealed . I also painted the frame and the Cat but still need to paint the main drive shaft and two airtanks and the 5th wheel assy. and detail the engine by painting belts hoses and turbo and doing the plumbing.I just stuck the motor in to give you all an idea of how it was coming together. Thanks Chris.
  9. what do you use to strip your paint?
  10. Thanks Ben, Do you but direct from KFS? All the vendors I know doesnt carry these.
  11. Hey everybody, I was wondering were i could get some brake valves for my pete chassis and how to make a leveling valve for the suspension with the rod. Has any one made one? I talked to Mr. Mopar about his brake valves on his FLC he is building he casted his own from the Amt Fruehauf tanker. I just dont know anything about casting parts. Does any one sell them? I have looked on Porkys and Sourkraut didnt see anything. Or does anybody have a few laying arround they want to sell? Thanks Chris
  12. Looks awesome wher did you get the brake valves and things to plumb your brakes?
  13. looks great Jim. Is that brush on or spray can?
  14. I want to do the interior in the 359 I am working on in the original Pete color of ox blood red. Has anyone came close to duplicating this? I may be could go with the dark tan color also if I had to. I know they also had a ugly blue color and they also had black but my truck will be black so I want to try to break it up a little. Any info would be appreciated. thanks
  15. Thanks everyone I hope this one turns out good I have been putting alot of thought into it. I got some extras for it i have a set of Vortox aircleaners from a Bill Signs kit and ordered a set of chrome metal square air horns and KFS stack kit from Saurkraut. Thanks again Tim for the tips on polishing paint for these.
  16. Here are the awesome winslow stripes I plan to use from Jerry at Modeltruckin.com. These are Great. Thanks Jerry!!
  17. Here are the colors I plan to use Dupli Color black met. cab and Duplicolor Chevy orange for the frame. I sprayed some unused parts to test the colors and my polishing technique that I have learned on here from Tim. I was very pleased with the results as you can see the reflection of the truck wheel in the part. Thanks Tim!!
  18. Also Going to add the 3406 Cat out of the snap kit it looks really nice fits pretty good to probably will have to modify the exhaust and intake tubes a little but I think I can make it work. Gotta love them CATS!!
  19. This is my current project. It is the Revell Germany 359 with the 36 inch sleeper cut off of the Revell Snap Pete. I chose that sleeper becuase I like the looks of that 36 inch on a 359 just really reminds me of those classic Petes, also the Revell snap sleeper is more accurate to the style versus the Amt Pete sleeper with the incorrect flat box top roof. Also gives this truck the look of a longer wheelbase.
