  1. Thanks Charlie, It's nice to build something that would be more commonly seen than an SS or a Yenko
  2. I was hoping someone would catch that.
  3. So we have steelies, steelies, or steelies lol. I think I'm going to use some kind of moon disc wheel covers.
  4. I would recommend "killing" the tape by sticking it to your shirt before putting it on to mask if you are getting residue from it. And for clear, 2-3 coats of 2 part urethane (I use Nason brand) clear will give you an almost mirror finish without any polishing. And if you have a piece of dirt in the finish it will polish out with 3,000 grit paper and some rubbing compound.
  5. It's top secret so don't tell anybody that I'm building a pro touring Nova
  6. I'm sorry to hear this Darin, You and your family are in my prayers.
  7. Thanks guys!
  8. Is it just me or does the floor look like a decal?
  9. Blue and Black 2 tone?
  10. thanks Tommy!
  11. @ Monty it was a Duplicolor spray can I think it was called Bahama Blue.
  12. thanks guys! the front of the exhaust is from the kit and portion behind the muffler was scratchbuilt out of brass tubing.
  13. well that sucks, the 58 Corvette at work came in with a set of them on it, and it was supposedly stock so I figured they came out before 62, but now that I looked it up you guys are right. I guess it's time for some parts box searching!
  14. He does Thanks!
  15. I built this back in December as a Christmas gift for my Dad. His first car was a 69 Nova and I did my best to replicate it. I started with a Revell 69 Nova SS and converted it into a non SS six cylinder car by using the motor out of an AMT 51 Chevy convertible updated to look like a 69 unit. the grill has the SS emblem removed and a chevy bow tie put in its place, and the fender vents have been removed. Color is a custom DuPont blue I mixed at work with Nason urethane clear.
  16. I finally got some camera batteries!!! I painted and polished the body interior has been flocked and the engine is almost done
  17. . Sonny's race engines makes a 1,005 cubic inch engine, It was featured in Hot Rod Magazine a while back and they showed that the cylinders are so big that a cantaloupe fits inside them.
  18. If you dip it in water and then freeze it it might start to come apart.
  19. Very realistic, reminds me of the 1:1 sitting behind the barn at my mom's house.
  20. Looks great! good idea smoothing out the lines of the truck, it's one of those things that really cleans up the look while retaining the stock lines that these trucks are known for.
  21. This has the perfect combo of unusual and cool! Now I want one.
  22. Amazing! what wheels are you using?
  23. Cool, I will be entering the 15 &under more than 10 in 3 years unlimited, Good Luck in the contest!
  24. This is a tough one, Doc, for me, there isn't an exact "formula" to define a clean build, but I think it must have a really smooth paintjob with very few flaws, shiny or not (suede finish looks great on lots of cars), all the work has to be done neatly, and the most important thing for me is the lines of the body should flow together and look like they belong.
  25. Lookin good, what class are you entering?
