Dave, I wouldn't have thought it possible...............I do believe the term for that last pic is "badonkadonk" cheers, tim

Oh BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere learning how to machine, you post those. Those are the most stunning set of wheels I've seen in ANY scale. I'm curious as to how you achieved such a beautiful finish on the inside......this is gonna some special build Dave and like everyone else following along, is anxious for your next post. Cheers, tim

Wow Brad...your build is really moving along rapidly now. And for someones first attempt or 100th attempt at soldering, I'd say whatever you're doing, just keep doing it. I'm going to have to get in touch to learn how to make my joints as impressive as yours. Great job !! cheers, Tim

Greatly appreciated for each and every post. I did want to answer Joe's question about paint....my plan for now Joe is paint the chassis but not the other pieces I've made. I've not settled on a color for the frame itself just yet but I have a few ideas. Thanks for following along too! I did the final mock-up of the pedal assembly, hand-brake and master cylinder. The gas pedal and pedal base were nickel plated and the parts in red were done with Dychem. This was a struggle I'll admit as I painted myself into a corner on the fabbing of the assembly and then once I figured out a great solution, I used CA glue on a key part (only 2 parts have it btw) and the pedal was in the wrong position. That set me back 4 hours getting it apart and redoing a couple of pieces and having to make a new one (or 2). I hate it when I have a plan and then fail to execute it. I even knew what the possible issue would be when doing the final assembly, I still managed to add to my work. Anyways, here it is. -
yup.......just your everyday street rod........... gotta love a guy that lives by the axiom........"if a little bits good, more HAS to be better" cheers

We're gonna have to talk my friend, I have questions after seeing how sweet those started off. I see how you did the lip and relief cuts, but how did you get that beautiful and accurate conical finish? Talk to you soon Dave and I'm really glad to see you back to this one. Any chance you'll get your video up for others to enjoy of your fired up 37'?? For those that haven't been lucky enough to see it yet, all I can say is its got a serious attitude. cheers, tim

We (you and I) share the same passion for the 917, the "Hippie" car. I bought that MFH kit in 1/12th. Haven't done a thing with it as I'm concentrating on finishing a long term project. But it's going to be one I finish before I hang up my modeling tools. I'm trying to improve my skills before tackling such an ambitious build. Best regards, Tim

Really appreciate the info on the materials used, detail and pics you've provided Bill. That windshield looks great to say the least and on such a classic car. The gaps are stellar. Might have to get one of those sometime in the future. Cheers, Tim

What a stunning car you have there. Just beautiful. cheers

Beautifully done. Congratulations with how well it turned out. I always loved that car.........and it's rare we have someone that posts that admits they actually like "doing decals". I know I don't. Cheers, Tim

Typical attention to detail by Chris going on here. It's obvious that you have no other way to approach a build but all out. I personally like all the steps you're sharing along the way with the descriptions and super pics. btw, any tinkering on the Vega lately? cheers

Hey Joe, nice pile o' scrap ya' got there. I had to really smile when you posted that pic. It's a fitting "tribute" to all scratch-builders out there. cheers, tim -
Uh........uh.......uh........wow! that's all I got Tyrone. We all knew the black roof would set it off, but.........uh.....uh.......wow! cheers, tim

NICE Leonard. Your build is just "right" in so many ways....I especially love the stance you've got and I'm eyeing up the steering rack and front end pieces. Eye candy if ever there was any. cheers, tim

Nice and clean Brad on the execution of the pan. I like the pics you're taking along the way, thanks for sharing and the "how to".....I've not tried printer plate yet, I'll be sure to check that out. Cheers, Tim

Most certainly agree with Bob and that your efforts are not "wasted". You're building an exceptional car in every respect and I admire your tenacity & determination to see it through. Kudos to Cato!!!!

Thanks Guys....and Dave, I'll try to make that event, as I mentioned, I grew up 2 miles from his place when he was in his racing prime and didn't even know it although I was a fan. (still am). Well, I've got over 20 hours in the engineering & planning of the pedal assembly, master cylinder and handbrake. After considering and mapping out a lot of ideas (and back and forth with Dave) I've come up with a plan that will work in the tight confines of the interior. I should have that done by early next week hopefully as I've done a lot of the prep work already. One of the things I wanted to complete was to correct the fact that the clutch and brake pedals didn't have stops. So, I thought no biggie but I wanted them to be adjustable and move with the assembly as one unit. Took a bit of thought and effort but I came up with a suitable solution. The stops are adjustable in and out as well as they are secured on a threaded bolt and nut and the tube is threaded to permit adjustment. Once the entire brake setup is completed and the necessary brackets are soldered in place, I'll go back and tear it apart and nickel plate some of them and detail em' a bit. A lot of info and effort for what is /seems a small step perhaps but it all ties into the bigger picture. (I did a quick mock-up with the seat, steering wheel etc. in place and it looks pretty cool, so I know I'm going down the right path with it) Cheers, Tim -

Appreciated EVERYONE! I do want to nominate Joe's reply as the "Funny of the Year".....I read it twice and couldn't stop laughing. So if agreed, we'll just send the trophy to him now. I also want to acknowledge Mr. Teresi and his kind comments. Our hobby can be mighty humbling (witness all the parts that go to the trash bin) as we move along and I never forget that I do this for fun. There are many others that are better at this than I'll ever be but to be considered as a decent builder by ones peers is the highest form of compliment. To everyone I've not mentioned by name, I hope I haven't offended by omission but I DO thank you as well. Cheers to one and all, Tim -

Thank you one and all.....and Joe, the actual Wilwood reservoir is made of black plastic, so that's why I made mine like that today......there are a lot of subtle things in terms of dimensions that went into making the top, but I think it came out fairly accurately. The entire unit is 1cm. in length. Appreciate your looking in. tim -
So cleanly done Art. One quick question for you, how do you do your zip ties? They look so realistic and I've not found a method to do them as cleanly as that. Would you mind sharing? cheers, tim
