I can tell you're having fun Ray. That pic of engine you shared with us is phenomenal. THAT would be a great one to replicate EXACTLY for your rod. (hint, hint, I still like the single carb concept) Thanks for posting and sharing. Cheers, Tim

Stage Coach Wheelsatnder.......On the workbench 8/11/15
Codi replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
And my only thought when seeing this current update was...........John, only John. I like it ALL. The drape of the blue coil wire, the spark plug wire numbers, the header EG sensors........my eyes just wander over the whole thing. Amazing work my friend. Cheers, Tim -
Hey Brad, that's looking nice man. I really like the gaps and accuracy of your headers. Your car is shaping nicely! btw, I put the Braille battery decals on today.......and do they look sharp and the next time I post some update pics, I'll be sure to post one. Thanks so much for the favor. I owe you one. Cheers, Tim

Cesar, sorry I didn't post sooner but this car is amazing. Your attention to the little details is just fantastic. I marveled at the texture on the roof that you achieved. Congratulations on a VERY sweet car. Cheers, Tim

Stage Coach Wheelsatnder.......On the workbench 8/11/15

John, really like the way you captured the "period" aspect of the electrics and fuel lines. Another fine example of how you capture/create realism in your builds. Cheers, Tim -
N-I-C-E !!! That does it for you now, welcome to fully certifiable "metal madness". Joints look good, design is cool and you knocked it out very quickly, what more could you ask for. I'm sure you're psyched up for the next step now. Cheers, Tim

Ray, thanks for the pics. Every scratch-builder ( and even those that don't scratch) have to be interested in the "how'd he do that" aspect of a build. I always learn something and like to try others techniques and methods on my own build(s). Appreciate ALL the time you're taking to take the pics and offer detailed descriptions as you go. btw, I'm using & learning how to use butane torch ( I think I have the same one you do) more and more on certain parts too and like what it can do when fabbing a particular part. Best to you, Cheers, Tim

That is lovely to look at. Just "WOW". Cheers, Tim

Well done Randy. That color is outstanding. Any engine pics by chance? Tim

Codi replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
What to say John? I'm just dumbfounded is about it. So many "little" details that you just nail time after time that separate your builds from all the rest. Just the description of how you captured the color of the battery caps pretty much says it all. And of course, you work faster than ANYONE on the planet. Will be following most assuredly and can't wait to see whats in store with the engine. You must be very satisfied with how it's turning out. Cheers, Tim -
Hey Brad, first I want to thank you for the custom Braille battery decals you made up for me. They look great and will look sharp on the batteries I've no doubt. That was a nice offer on your part and I wanted to acknowledge it "publicly". Sorry to hear about the solder/header electroplating issue but try it on some other brass part you might fab yet.....I just don't want to see you give up on it as it does work and it makes a pretty cool addition to a build. If you think I can be of any further assistance, send me a PM please. Cheers, Tim

Hi Chris, SOOOOOOOO glad to see you back at the bench. And I don't care what you're making. Your chassis is off to a rocking start and can't wait to see your other touches. Cool to see the 3 different concepts you've each adopted and your respective fabricating methods to make them happen. Best of luck with the rest of the build and thanks for sharing. Cheers, Tim

NOMAD WHEELSTANDER - Belated Christmas - 1/13/16
Codi replied to Nytrozilla's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Joe, nicely done and I really want to thank you for the pic of the cutting tool and tutorial. I'm going to get one and try it on some parts I've wanted to try fabricating. Might just work for what I have in mind. Bout time you added a metals jar, I think a year from now you'll have 3 or 4. Keep the detailed pics and humor coming, it adds a nice touch to your builds. Lastly, please tell Santa, I only want a lathe for Christmas..........I've been good, so............... Cheers, Tim -
Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
Codi replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Sorry for not replying sooner............ Edgar - Glad you checked the car out and like what you see. Thanks Andy- My pics are of reasonable quality but with my limited computer skills, there's no photo shopping going on in this house. Scott - Thanks as always and appreciate the quick turn around on the parts I just ordered from you. Mr. Teresi - see my comments on YOUR build please. Just fantastic stuff as always and many thanks for your continued interest in Henry. Ray - Appreciate the "photos" comment. I credit the camera and lighting for the quality of them. Joe - Glad to see you moving along with YOUR build too. The sapphire is in the intake, but you should see what's in the oil pan. Romell - I've followed your work before sir, and you do some serious modelling in your own right. Thanks for checking out the build and hope you continue to follow along. Clayton - I prefer crazy instead of insane. Seriously though, thank you for your positive comments. Luis - Glad you llke it too and like the others that have visited perhaps for the first time, I hope you join me while I take this "journey" on this build. What's next.................well, my friend Dave was kind enough to impart 6 hours his time and knowledge on what awaits me. I feel like Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit and Dave is Gandolf (correct spelling) After putting the car together and tearing it down I was feeling pretty satisfied with it. Well, that bubble lasted a day and Dave popped it. I have a LONG way to go on what I have to make for the car yet. It begins with a LOT of research of particular products and then how to fab said parts. Dave shared so many important aspects that I should (will) consider for the car that I came away with my head swimming. Complete brake system, chutes, doors & windows, pedal assembly, firewall, front clip, front struts and hubs, VERY detailed electronics and on and on. But I at least know where to look now for answers and what I want to replicate. I've resigned myself that I likely won't finish it till late 2016 at best. I am going to start my Mustang Funny (not the new Mustang but my stretched 71' rear-engine funny sometime over the winter just to avoid burn-out and to get a jump on it for when Henry is completed. Cheers to all and enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend ! Tim -
Cato, it's been a while since I posted here, but without a dout, that is just simply STUNNING! My hat's off to you sir and can't wait to see your future posts as you progress on this build. A fan. Cheers, Tim

Codi replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
John, John, John......how do you do it? The combination of paints on your chassis in the latest pics, along with the alum. flooring looks so cool. I would never have put those together and you pulled it off so well. And no one can touch you for your Alclad skills. Alclad should pay YOU to use your models as examples on their website. It just looks so real. Suitably impressed dude. Cheers, Tim -
Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
Codi replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Aaron, thank you, again nice to see comments from so far away. The forum is well represented globally. Art - appreciated...."home stretch" is a year from now as best as I can guesstimate. I'm going to wrap this one up by fall 2016 one way or another which means I'm now about 60% of the way through it. No way around that fact as I'm such a slow builder. oh well. again, many thanks. Michael - me first. Sorry Scott, i just don't have that kind of ability to do the body out of aluminum. I'd like to learn how to pound brass someday............. DaveWilly - thanks! Dave my friend (comp1839) - THANK YOU for all of your insights and assistance on a build that I thought I knew something about but came to realize how little I truly did know. Your mentoring has been invaluable and has helped me become a budding amateur machinist and better modeler. For that I will always be grateful. Ray - Wonderful to see your new 32' build and the rapid progress on it. I can see the juices are flowing again.....YEAH!! Chris - Sincerely hope you'll be back at your bench soon and finishing the Vega. Hope all else is well with you and your family. Disabled Modeler - thanks for checking it out and hope you follow along as I move on with the car. Lastly, here's a pic I wanted to share of the chassis / engine in the same shot. Didn't have the ability to post it earlier.........Cheers to all, Tim -
Really like the way the front end body mods worked out Ray. You've picked two great intakes to choose from but my preference was for your 1st one with the single carb BUT your sheet metal will no doubt be sweet as well. I like the way you've fabbed that so far too. Great progress and looking forward to more soon!!! cheers, Tim
-
I truly like your idea for the build Brian. Always liked the Chapparals since I had an HO race car as a kid. Can't wait to see the body mods once you have them completed. Good luck on the rest of the build. Cheers, Tim

Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
Codi replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks Clayton, no Ray, haven't weighed it yet. BUT, I did get on a roll this morning and completed the mock-up. Satisfied with the results so I can tear it down and move on. Enjoy and comments welcome as always. btw, no glue was used over the past 20+ hours of assembly, all bolted together. Cheers, Tim Besides these pics, there are more on my Fotki page for those that are interested. -
Run Ray, run as fast as you can on this car. I love everything you're showing here and your grill is beautiful. If it were mine/me, I'd set the other one aside and continue on this one. The real car pics you've shared and the chassis design are so cool and would make for a superb model. Looking forward towards your next post already. Cheers, Tim

NOMAD WHEELSTANDER - Belated Christmas - 1/13/16
Codi replied to Nytrozilla's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Cool mock-up but Brads comment on the headers gives me pause too. I thought Henry was tight, but man o' man that is silly tight at the rear tire and frame. Would up-swept through the roof be an option? Maybe a "sun" roof right? And that way you could see the engines too. Just thinking out loud, sorry. I'm sure you already have a basket of options so..............never mind. Cheers Joe. -

Codi replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Your car has really come together Bill. I like seeing the differences in the body lines / details just by painting it with white primer. Fantastic execution on all of the body mods and how it just "flows". If you haven't mentioned it yet, what color are you considering? Cheers, Tim
