Appreciate ALL of your comments on this "beast". Tyrone, completely agree, it does look much more aggressive and integrated. The one area I want to change yet is the front end.......specifically the wheel opening shape and size and narrowing the actual width of the front end too reshaping the front wheel flares /lip. The hood scoop needs to be shortened at somepoint so it fits up against the windshield. But you get the idea. Len - yeah, after cutting and soldering and machining metal, it was nice to just hack up and work with plastic. Simple and quick. The whole thing took me about 90 minutes to effect. Granted, there is a LOT of bodywork refinement that needs to be done, but the bones are getting better on him. Cheers

Bruce, just love that 2nd pic of the side profile of the car and of course, pic 4 of the rear / wing. That was always one of my favorite gran prix cars of the period. It just looked "right". And it was quick to boot. You're doing this build justice. I remember going to the gran prix in Montreal in the 70's on a few occasions and just had the time of my life. Cheers, Tim

Hey Michael, Dave (comp1839) pointed out twin chutes are mandatory for any car over 200mph......so.........dual it is. I'll be making them from scratch, the cording I have is from after market model rocket chutes that I picked up cheap. I'll use medical tape for the outside material of the chutes. I made one up already and it looks very realistic. But I'm not quite ready to share pics yet. Cheers

Raining cats and dogs today and wanted a change of pace...so I dug him up (get it?) and worked on the hood and nose today. The nose was never to my liking and was shapeless. The hood was too high so I took it down for a better profile. The front end was an inspiration from Tyrones recent mustang 10.5 outlaw car. I made it more angular and picked up the angles from the headlight "eyebrows". This one is just like my Henry in that I put it away for 8 months or so and started hacking at it just for giggles. It's starting to grow on me. Comments always welcome. Cheers, Tim

Michael & Dave, thank you very much for the sentiments and interest in the car. Today I got the chute bracket and braces done. Sure enough I got all of it made and on the car and the last joint (even with umpteen gazillion heatsinks attached....this thing looked like a porcupine) the dual chute bracket on the very end came off........these spaces are tiny.....but I got it back on and all straight and pretty. I'm slowly creeping up on getting the back half done. Next I'll clean up the ugly joints and add a few more braces and bars that are required. Then it'll be mock-up time again but this time with all hte bells and whistles I've made to see the whole picture. Comments welcome as always. Cheers, Tim

Nice colors you've picked out Keith. I'd personally do the green and white interior to lighten things up inside....with that chopped top, if you do all green, you won't see much detail I'm afraid because it'll just be too dark inside. Cheers, Tim

Thats sound kinda cool John. I'm sure you'll have quite a bit of interest once you start buiding and posting. Today was 6 (yes Joe, start the jokes now...I said SIX) hours of figuring out HOW to attach the brackets onto the chassis so that they were spot on in place (up/down/sideways/that way/this way.....you get the idea) and not ruin any of my other work. That's the engineering side of this process. After a bunch of thought and a trip down the wrong path, I got it right. It's not much of an update it might seem, but this was a very important point of progress for me. I have only a couple 32nds of an inch to get the wheelie bars to fit INSIDE the wing and the parachute bracket has to be perfectly down the middle of the wheelie bars. so far its where it needs to be. All I can say is "whew". Enjoy.

Now this is getting more interesting by the minute. Keep us posted on your progress Ray. Definitely something I'll have to try some day in the future. Cheers, Tim

Just a suggestion for you Dwayne. Maybe select a simple hot rod chassis (an early Ford would be a great starting point) and make a smaller scale brass (1/24 or 1/25th scale) chassis to "cut your teeth" as they say. You won't have to buy much in the of equipment or material and it would be a great way to try your hand at it. if your happy with the results then step up to whatever you're comfortable with. Just an idea. Cheers

I KNEW you'd pick out my ultra trick clamp I actually shortened them and rounded the tips as they're much easier to get into tight spaces. They make great heat sinks too! Michael - I swear to you I'm not obsessive compulsive. I swear. Just fussy shall we say. And thanks for noticing. I haven't cleaned the joints up yet as I have a particular build process going on back there right now. But soon. Ray, Leonard, Dave & John.....greatly appreciated guys. Hope you keep following along. I wanted to ask if anyone knows someone that makes custom decals. I'm putting Braille Li batteries (twin 16v) in the back end of the car but there are no aftermarket decals of this particular brand. I need to make or have them made. I've never done them and the artwork for the particular battery I'm using is hard to come by. I've scoured the web but haven't found anything yet. I did buy a decal making kit from MicroMark but it's of no use without the proper image(s) of course. Any inisghts or suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers to all, Tim

1/2 a day to make the twin brackets to affix the wing to the chassis. I had to remake the twin trees as one fell apart (careless on my part) while soldering it on. UGH! Anyways, the small brass brackets will be on the inside of the chassis, not the outside as you see them. The wing strut will then be secured on the outside of the little bracket. The little bracket was a challenge as it had to clear the body, mate to the chassis and have the proper angle for the wing. Comments welcome. Cheers, Tim
