  1. Hi Chris, well now, you 3 "cowboys" have our attention..............any chance we'll see another post by the weekend? Have fun with it, I know you will. Cheers
  2. Hey Joe, it was great having the chance to chat yesterday. Your plans for this build sound truly unique. But you're going to have to really get after it now after seeing what Mr. Teresi has already made on his stagecoach. We both know how fast he builds. This will be entertaining for all of the members of the forum that follow along. Cheers dude, Tim
  3. Great to have you here again posting your work and skills John. Your start is nothing short of awesome. Cheers, Tim
  4. Hey Joe, thanks for the comment and check your PM. Cheers
  5. Today I did the valve cover breather "vent" tubes that have hoses that I'll route either through the frame rails or tubes from the valve covers. Either way the tubes end at the puke tank. It took me almost 3 hours to make these little buggers. The base of each is a MCGarage small header flange that I thinned & drilled out and dropped in T2M bolts. The bent tubes themselves scale out at 1.15mm (not quite 1 1/4") they started as R & B Motion A/N fittings that I cut down and everything was super glued with Devon 2 part epoxy. The small (1.0mm in length) fitting on each of the bent tubes is polished 1.4mm stainless steel tube. I want to thank Dave (comp1839) for the photos he sent of several current design options before I got started on these, it was a big help. The pic I took was as close to the engine as I could get and have it not be blurry and still the show the detail of the two "vent" tubes. Cheers, Tim
  6. Thank you John for the update and clarification. And yes, timing is everything. I read your edit & I respect what you posted and acknowledged. Did you read my response to your earlier question btw? Cheers, Tim
  7. Okay, I'd like to call a "timeout" on this conversation. I've got building to do and the car / engine is accurate at this point. Thanks, Tim
  8. Thanks Derrick..... Never weighed it Ray, I'll have to take a moment sometime just for giggles. John, both. there's a good pic on page 13 of this thread that shows the inters mounted on the main hoop up and out of the way of the fire bottles. There was no room to mount the fire bottles in the back half of the chassis. It's a tight fit everywhere and anywhere on the car that's for sure. Cheers, Tim
  9. This part of the build is done. I got the intake on and the throttle body detailed a bit as well. Time to get back and wrap up the back of the chassis. Cheers, Tim
  10. Nice Tyrone, may I ask how you're doing your cable ties on the chassis? They look spot on. Cheers, Tim
  11. Hey Joe, how's it going on your hobby room? You've got some pretty sweet things to put in there based upon the pics and boxes I've seen. Cheers, Tim
  12. Your just a big ol' tease aren't you Brad. Can't wait to see what you made in brass. It's obvious that your "hooked" based upon your post. Poor devil. Cheers, Tim
  13. Hello everyone. I sincerely appreciate your replies to the pics posted. I recognize so many of you from previous posts and quite a few new ones as well. THANKS again is all I can say and I'm glad you like what you see. I wish you could see it in person. I've got to get to a show or club meeting sometime soon to finally share what I've been working on. Dave (comp1839) a pic is worth a thousand words and yours sums up beautifully what I was going for when I worked on the new intake. It's not the "Holy Grail" as mentioned earlier but I hope someday you can share with me the steps that I might take to try to achieve it. I don't want to share what that design is at this time but lets just say that "Gen 3" of the intake would blow this most recent one away if it can / could be pulled off. No offense to anyone that has posted and if I didn't reply to you personally in this note. But be assured, your comments, each and every one, mean a lot to me. Next I'm going to do the shock sensors and a new drive shaft hoop with drive shaft RPM sensor. It took me a bit of research to figure them out, but I got em' now and can move forward. Oh, and Brad has been kind enough to mock-up some Braille decals too for the batteries, I'll wrap them up too and then a final COMPLETE mock-up of the back-half of the car. Cheers to each and everyone of you and thanks again for following along. Tim
  14. WOW Steve. I love this car and your build in particular. Just perfect. I've got to go back and stare at your pics some more now, so if you'll excuse me............tim
  15. That's sharp Tony. I love Fords and yours is just so right in so many ways. You should be proud with how it turned out. Cheers, Tim
  16. When i was a teenager Daniel, my best friend had one of the originals. Just an awesome car. The pics you found on the interwebs are just fantastic and I look forward to following along on your undertaking. Such a great concept car to pursue. Cheers, Tim
  17. That is looking so sharp Nicolas. Can't wait to see more of your build. The brake upgrade is spectacular. Cheers, Tim
  18. Appreciated guys, one last pic for you before I button it up the next few days once and for all. I am going to have to change the valve cover breathers as they're all wrong for the dry sump setup on the engine. I'll make a pair that route to the puke tank I just made. Cheers,
  19. Thanks again guys. Michael, no, I like the contrast of the brass and alum. on the bolts. John, thank you for the note......that's the highest compliment a builder could receive in my opinion. Greatly appreciated. So, got the intake off and the new one sitting on top. Nothing lined up per se and a few details to address AND lousy pics (better ones later) BUT I was so pleased with how this turned out I just had to share. Comments welcome. Cheers to each of you! Tim
  20. Small update on the intake. The brass butterfly is made and there are 30 small bolts (cosmetic, not actual screws) on the top plate / portion of the manifold. The entire intake is a smidgen over 1". The small lip that the bolts are affixed to is only 1.15mm wide. I've done some mock-up visuals with the engine itself (pretty sharp I think) and now it comes down to removing the old one (not sure how to get that off since I used CA glue) without damaging anything else. The throttle body needs drilled for the butterfly shaft and a few small details added. Next pics will be of the intake ON the engine. (assuming all goes well) Cheers, Tim
  21. Clayton, thank you sir.....that's quite the compliment. Chris, that's great news...be sure to get the rotary table, 3 and 4 jaw chucks, and the tilting table among the tools you'll be ordering. Must haves! My mill was a 5400DRO setup in metric as you know. Get the collet sets too that allow for a bit more precision in your machining. Whatever you spend on your mill, be willing and prepared to spend all most as much on various tools and endmills to get you going. Starretts "last word" is a must have a setup tool as well. I could go on, but you have your own ideas I'm sure. Thanks for your note on Henry too! Yeah Henry, that pic got my attention as I'm going to have to prep a list on how to assemble the entire thing so that I can be sure to access other pieces I'll have to install. Avoid painting myself into a corner as they say. Eric, I've been spending some time considering what color to paint it and I think I have a good idea so that it looks realistic, cool and complimentary to the rest of the metal work that won't be painted. Thanks! Art, been too long. Glad you checked it out and I've been keeping my eyes open for more on your sprinter. soon I hope! cheers to everyone, Tim
  22. Wow, talk about stepping outside the box......that should be a fun build and I'm especially looking forward to your teaming up with John on this one. I'm sure you'll prove that once and for all, 1 + 1 = 3 in this instance. Will most certainly follow along. Cheers, Tim
  23. Eric, great choice of colors and your floor mats are killer....along with the rest of it. Gotta be having fun with this one. Good luck on the rest. Cheers, Tim
  24. Len, thank you for sharing your pics.....all of your albums and photography are outstanding. I truly enjoy perusing them when you post!!! Cheers, Tim
  25. Thank you fellas. Chris, when will we see some more of the funny btw? Well, today I machined the puke tank. Dual inlets from the engine, one drain on the back end, roof top vent AND what I really liked making was the "glass" oil level tube on the side of the tank......yeah baby!! This think sits on TOP of a penny it's that small. You can see how tight it is in the cage too. Getting so much closer to a final back end mock-up after I finish up a few small things on my new intake. Cheers, Tim
