  1. The Doc has the best vids ever, I for one cant wait for the big news. Doc you didnt switch to Geico to save a bunch on you car insurance did you?
  2. Thanks guys,Ive got a great wife who understands the hobby and lets me buy whatever I want as long as my share of the bills are paid on time. She loves going to drag racing and loves college football and hockey as much as me, we just adopted a coon hound and she insisted we name him HEMI! There is only the one window but it does have double doors. The fridge is actually too big for what I need it for but we already had it so I know it works good. The only thing missing in the pictures is my riding mower, other than that its my getaway to do some modeling and just relax. Thanks Mark, and Im still looking!
  3. What a clean build!
  4. Cant wait to see the the Saleen Vic, keep it up!
  5. Great looking bikes, makes me want to get motivated on the two cars Im working on to get them done.
  6. Nice color choice, she looks like a sleeper. After seeing this Ive got to pick up one of those new kits.
  7. That thing looks sic with those wheels and the low stance, great job!
  8. After 3 long years of planning and budgeting Im pretty much finished with my hobby room/shop. I got the electric ran, insulated it, added a window, added a window A/C, moved extra fridge out there, added lighting, painted the floor, added a work bench and a smaller kraft table. The only thing I got left is to caulk all the seams outside and re-stain outside, other than that Im finally done. I also have been buying things for modeling pretty heavy that last few months since the wife has been on-board with it. I have bought 2 airbrushes, compressor, paint stand, cut-proof mat, helping hands with mag. glass, some storage bins along with lots of regular modeling supplies. Im happy with how everything has turned out and Im glad I finally have a dedicated place to do my models. Before I couldnt get much of anything done before having to pack it all back up to keep the wife happy. I have a 55 Chevy Im working on right now for my dad along with a 69 Camaro for myself and Im planning out the 70 Superbee I posted about a while back also for my dad. I guess I just covered several threads in one and basically a 3 month update on where Im at. I know I havent posted anything as far as a WIP but up until this point I havent had anything at all worth posting. Heres the pics, comments welcome. http://public.fotki.com/jakemilburn/hobby-shop/
  9. Just in case some of you guys are looking for a good deal on a air compressor for airbrushing etc., Tractor Supply Co. has a 2 gallon twin stack compressor on sale from April 20-25 for $59.99. The ad says thats $20 off, if I didnt already have one I would probably pick one of these up for that price, heck if I wasnt trying to finish up my storage building/hobby room I would buy one anyway.
  10. Greeting Ridgley, Im actually right down the road from you inbetween Portland and Westmoreland. I was born and raised in McMinnville TN and moved to Portland around 5 years ago.
  11. Stunning!, good job.
  12. I dont think it is the cost of the clamp rather the time on the assembly line it takes to screw down the worm-type compared to the spring-type=equals millions in labor saved over time.
  13. SiC in a good way!, I like how you used the back of your daily driver for the back drop for the WIP's, keep it up
  14. Had to keep it rated G Highway, plus my hope is that they have had to wrestle them off on thier own car, Im a firm believer in Kharma(sp?)
  15. Mine would be a plain jane 1972 Mustang not a Mach 1,it was my first car and in my family for years.
  16. Yep I would say that it has been a good day for you, I for one would love to smack the person that came up with the spring hose clamps, of course it had to have been a number cruncher that knew it would save a lot of time and labor cost on the assembly lines in the auto factories and to heck with the next person that had to wrestle them things off.
  17. Wow I really like this thread, keep em coming guys! I will be picking up one of those Exacto knifes next time at Wallyworld if they have them, heck for $4 I may pick-up two of them, its looks comfortable.
  18. Thats why I only bid what Im willing to pay for something on Ebay regardless of what its worth. I found a new compressor and airbrush from a guy on there who had a reserve on both items, 2 days before the auction ended he changed his reserve price but it was still so high that no one else bid so I guess he kept it and is now using it to paint crying clowns on a shirt somewhere because it never sold. He also wouldnt budge one cent on shipping if I won both items, he claimed it was from the raising gas prices even though he only had to ship them 3 hours away Gotta love Ebay!
  19. I would call myself space challenged. I dont have a good dedicated place in the house where I could work on a build without having to put everything back up at the end of the day to keep clutter down and also keep anything from getting damaged from our 3 dogs and 2 cats in the house. This has really hindered the two builds Im currently working on, however that is finally changing. I almost have my 10'x20' building all set-up where I can do my models and not worry about spilling paint or putting everything back up and Im the only one in there so it will stay as I left it without the critters running around possibly breaking things. I have to install a window for my A/C and put my work bench together when it gets here and I will be ready to rock on some models. Of course now that I will have all this dedicated space will I keep my stash to only 25 kits or run out and buy 2,500 more kits? Hmmm.. even if I did I still dont think I would be a hoarder! HAPPY MODELING
  20. Awesome, she looks ready to pound some pavement and leave everything in the dust.
  21. The colors were the perfect choice, great build!
  22. Im digging this one, also congrats on the trophy. The only way it could have been better was if the chrome was dulled out a bit to make it look older, but thats only my opinion and she looks great none the less!
  23. I didnt see what it actually fit but did find this.... http://sparkplugger.net/manufacturers/american-eagle-spark-plug-co/
  24. Didnt actually get anything model wise but model related. After 4 long years I finally got electricity in my 10'x20' storage building that will also be my man cave/model shop. I can finally do some models, make all the mess I want, drink some beer, jam some tunes, and I cant wait. I can also finally put up all my car swag that Ive picked up from the past drag races Ive been to. I still have to insulate it, get some shelving up, and install the brand new vinyl window I got for a case of beer, today has been a great day. Im thinking of taking some progress pics as I go along?
